It’s 2024 and this show still holds a place in my heart. I watched it while it was first airing and I watch it to this day. Even if the ending was rushed, it was still amazing and I wish there was an anniversary blu-ray re-release with commentary’s and extras.
CBS dropped the ball by pulling the plug to early on "Person of interest" . It was an innovated show that was like nothing else presently on television.
@Levi Henstrom well, I do agree that people who are christian are often undermined in the Hollywood and Jim is one of them. Although, not sure if this had to do with this show in particular.
I really like Kevin Chapman, he may not be tall, dark, and handsome like Jim, but I think he has an engaging personality and always gives interesting and thoughtful answers. Oh, and for some reason, he always seems to be next to Amy, even if they're on the end.
Only discovered this show about 2 weeks ago and binge watched all 5 seasons in like a week and a half, if that. So sad they canceled it after 5 seasons and the last one only had 13 episodes. It is one of the most brilliantly written shows on TV, the writing is top notch, the character development was so well done, the story line so well thought out, and like everything else great, TV network execs have to kill it cause it's expensive. It's cheaper to do these stupid reality shows I guess. I hope they revive it and Netflix will produce it.
Yeah, I was also one of the lucky ones who got to binge watch all of the seasons. And yes, they should have had more funding for the 5th season. It had some good moments in the 5th season but I can't even imagine what they would have done with a whole or even more than one season.
Loved this show since my late highschool days, and still do now. Innovative, engaging, brilliantly written and acted- nothing ever quite like it. I loved this cast, and they clearly cared for eachother too. Always loved how they made it to Comic-Con, and with so much fan support too.
Fantastic crew Fantastic cast.. well written well filmed . Loved it all. I wanted more! ... they could sooooo come back and make more seasons same Cast . Would be badass
13:59 Jim is teasing the series finale in which Reese sacrificed himself. “What episode are talking about?”, the simulation one or the finale? Then Nolan gets nervous and intervenes XD
I really wish the camera operator would have been more on point. I wanted to see the reactions of the cast when they were comments and questions being made directed to them. The camera pans were slow to go to the subject.
Persons of Interest, needs to be made into a Major Movie Picture, like StarTrek was. The Machine , in this movie will recreate Reese and Root, using their DNA and Nano Reproduction Technology solved by the Machine. Their Home base of operations will be at Thornhill Industries. From here let the writers perform their skills
There has NEVER been a show like this and never will. It should never have been cancelled. ALL of the cast has their part. Finch the genius, Reese the serious one who hardly ever smiles, Fusco the conflicted cop, root the loony tunes, Carter the real cop and Shaw who is.....Shaw. I watch it a lot
The interesting thing now is that for the most part, America was still asleep when this show was produced. Many in America still are asleep but waking up an entire country after more than forty years takes awhile.
"Person Of Interest" is a great (perhaps the best so far) argument against transhumanism. This idea that the level of development is defined by intellect and that AI is superior to humans because of its perfect intellect... It is beautifully defeated in POI.
@@juffinhally5943 but Greer suffocated himself, successfully. I saw him as an example of a psychopath who uses excuses of the superiority of AI to whitewash his own psychopathy. I saw it as an allegory of whatever artificial intellect is and however superior it seems, there is always quite a human psychopath behind it who is obsessed with the idea of total control. Human intuition, human mind, human "factor" and human connectedness win in the end. Or perhaps I interpreted it to suit my hopes...
@@lenablochmusic Well, at least Greer was quite confident in his errors. And anyway, he's one character, however important, and I wouldn't take him for an allegory of an AI.
@@juffinhally5943 not of AI, but a metaphor of a self-confident psychopath, like Max More and Tom Morrow, who cannot see that their "superior AI" is simply a reflection of their own depravity.
@@lenablochmusic Oh, I can't really say he was a psychopath. Not really sane, yes. As for the motives of superhuman intelligences, I prefer not to speculate.
Iam gutted that person of interest is finished,,,,,,for a sequel finish they should make a movie,,,,or continue for many years ,,,,,for god sake u have the audience following this frm many countries
36.00min in they didn't understand the question.. the man was saying he enjoyed watching the show with diverse characters from all over the world.. all ethnicities... he was wondering if more films and shows will follow that. Because I'm assuming the diversity in casting helped connect a broader audience. Even if it were extras
They ended it too soon. I love Root. I didn’t like the last episode. Reese dying and Root. I didn’t like second machine storyline. I wish I could see Jim interact with Amy more.
My guess is that he's sleep deprived from shooting so many scenes 20+ eps per season from the beginning of the show. Top of the call sheet will have to put in a lot of 10+ hrs days and likely spend a lot of time away from their family. And Amy says they have to shoot scenes 4 diff ways. Yikes 😬.
What ? He has the most beautiful smile in the movies. When he smiled when he found the kidnapped girl in the Sound of Freedom, it was like the heavens opened up
One of the very best shows that I have been involved with in many years, you can almost put it in real life as too what is happening with the Trump Impeachment a d the radical liberals wanting to seize all of our guns 3take away all of our constitutional rights.
The death of Carter broke the show. And fans responded their way, not supporting or watching the show as before. I am guilty too bc I gave up watching after her dead. Not that the show wasn't good but she was the heart of poi. Sometimes tptb want to do different things and mistakes happen, her dead unfortunately was the only and big mistake they made. The show could have run for more time and better rates with her on it. Reese and Carter were unique and they lost that. I think Nolan wasn't expecting that too. Hope he has learned is lesson and now with Westworld, different concept and characters but I just hope he doesn't do the same mistake again. And btw I started watching this show because of Jim cavizel that is my favorite actor since I was teenager but I ended loving Taraji and Carter and even being a huge fan of JC I stop watching the show. Wasn't the same!
Taraji P. Henson was offered a big time contract to star in "Empire" & make various movies. That is the reason she left POI. It was her chance to make serious money & since, she has become a much bigger Hollywood star. Jonathan Nolan didn't want her to leave but he understood it was her chance to move on to bigger & better things.
It wasn't a mistake. If you didn't watch the show because of a single characters death, you're just a bad fan. The show is amazing, the quality never declined.
The real show actually started from late season 3 til the end. Pity you miss the real deal of the show, the characters are there to push the story, the core is not about someone, but everyone.
@@xyzhou6207 Amen to that. Samaritan was what the show always aspired to be about, everything before that was just a development to get to that point, a prologue. Adding the Samaritan storyline had its problems, not only did it change the tone and feel of the show, I think it convoluted things and took it to a place many viewers weren't going to follow, especially in season 4, not because it was too complicated or difficult to understand per se, but because it added a dynamic that created challenges with the narrative and basic premise of the show, namely that of saving the numbers, I think they pushed the envelope just a bit too far, but it was where the writers always wanted to go, to the problematic aspects of mass surveillance and use of AI.
I stopped watching for a while after Joss died. It was jarring because she had made herself quite interesting in the previous few episodes. I still miss her.

Very true. At least they got to get closure on the series.
It was dropped because jim cavizel is a Christian and conservative and mr trump fan
@Levi Henstrom well, I do agree that people who are christian are often undermined in the Hollywood and Jim is one of them. Although, not sure if this had to do with this show in particular.
