I just want to add a fact that most people conveniently choose to ignore...Ukraine isn't even in the same hemisphere as the US and when you go out of your way that far to "intercede" in the name of "defense" how justified are you vs the people who actually live in that area and are directly affected by war?

Russian military uses AK-12 and AK-74m, which respectively are modifications made in 2012 and in 1990, and most BTGs on front use newer AK-12. I, for all, won't say that AR-15 is better or worse of a platform, both systems work just fine and are reliable.
AK is more suitable for cold seasons, so we stick with it.
