I'm a woman and I've been to all the major cities in Colombia solo. I made a point to listen to what I was told by local guides, stay in the safest area, and not meet random people online. I was safe at all times. Men travel differently than women. Women are not trying to hookup with randos. We want to be safe and we'll get in at a decent hour depending on the location.

Years ago, I used to work at an international airport, and I'd hear stories about guys who got scammed by mail order brides that would never show up to the airport, it was quite scary to hear about how they would lash out at people. Guys like that have serious problems beyond dating issues. I imagine passport bros are the same and have trouble with social skills.
