I never get tired of these guys... every few months I need to sink back down into the beautiful Rabbit Hole that is everything Chris Thile/Punch Bros/Goat Rodeo... Tonight is one of those nights. Have had the privilege of seeing Goat Rodeo twice, Live from Here (live) once, and also ago got to see Thile when he was doing his solo Bach concerto tour. at the end of the Bach show I had to go to the bathroom and RIGHT as I walked back in to the theater he had just finished his last planned song and asked for requests... before he had even finished the sentence, I could not help myself and yelled out (in a guttural holler much louder than I knew I was capable of) "JUUUUULEPPPP!!!" Bunch of other people requested old songs from Nickel Creek & other mostly other random bluegrass standards... Thile shook his head with a smile... "Julep huh?... well, that request was the first.. and the loudest" then laughed, and proceeded to play the most gorgeous solo version of Julep ever... (i got the feeling he was pleased at least one person asked for a a punch bros song)
There are sad things in American history, but there are brave and adventurous moments, backdropped by beautiful landscapes. Everything Punch Brothers does is the soundtrack to that America.
Pure expression - Pure bliss. You can see the joy on their faces; their synergistic energy; they become completely absorbed in the moment - the purest form of happiness. So glad to have found them.
Ahhh I can't wait to see them again!! The talent this group of musicians have is nothing short of amazing. They are simply moving in a way no other music has moved me.
Well Dustin clark and who ever, Saw punch Brothers last night at the Ace in L.A.Ca. They played a few old songs mixed in with new songs from "All ashore" They were real good as always.came back out twice.Everyone sang (oh boy) on rye whiskey. Basically everyone had a good show. I'ed go see them again. I like their new songs. Gonna have it put on my phone so i can lisen to it every where i go. Thats my report.Hope you liked it Later folks
Newly discovered these lads through the comments on a Billy Strings video. Their musicianship both as individuals and collectively is off the charts amazing. Definitely going to add a Punch Brothers concert to the ole bucket list!
Another amazing song by the Punch Brothers! I saw Thile perform a solo show a few years ago and man he’s a beast on the mandolin, even while standing in front of a crowd for two hours. Now I’ll be seeing the Punch Brothers in August and I’m so excited!
Never heard of you brother's before until I watched CBS This Morning and all I can say is...woooow :-) Your music helps to take me out the mundane weekend blues ;-) Thanks for sharing your talent and play on brother's !!
WOW, words cannot describe how I love this song and the way you guys rocked it! ???Can you do a separate video on the fiddle parts??? I am a fiddle player, new to bluegrass, and I just have to play the fiddle on this, but I love all of the instruments together. 5 STARS*****
Mighty fine, boys! 😁👍 Thank you for producing these "music videos" of some live performances: your musicianship, expression, and tone are captured beautifully by the microphone and camera! Looking forward to the new album. See you on tour.
Mr.Dustin clark,i will get back with you tomorrow for tonight at the Ace theather in Los Angeles Ca. I am seeing the punch Brothers. at 8pm its only 4:30.I can't wait. Till tomortow.
I saw you guys at Roskilde festival back in 2012 and it was probably the greatest live concert I've ever experienced. I will see you gentlemen in Copenhagen.
Hmmm. Three dots and a dash. Could be part of Beethoven's Fifth (dit dit dit dah). Or could be Morse Code for the letter "V". Plus, "V" is the Roman numeral for the number "5". And, there are 5 people playing on the song.
Nice. What's the mic? Would be much better in stereo. So cool when these circles things are done that way; feel like you are literally sitting in the middle, where the mic is,
Is this in 6/8 or 4/4? Genuinely can't fucking tell, it could be either from what I can tell. He seems to start the count in 3, so that leads me to believe it's 3/4 or 6/8, but I still hear 4/4.
Possibly an ode to Beethoven's fifth? Three dots and a dash is Morse code for Roman numeral 5(V), the intro to Beethoven's fifth symphony is three quick notes and a longer one.
Greg Day is correct. They named their instrumentals on the album after tiki cocktails. And yes the drink is named after Morse code for something i can’t remember. Jungle Bird is the other song/cocktail.
Yeah, how dare those people have their own music taste and opinions. Not sure if having you own musical taste makes you a tool, but judging others based on that definitely makes you seem like one.

Not sure I agree exactly. Like the song “another new world” is criticising that American “adventurous” nature.
Pure expression - Pure bliss. You can see the joy on their faces; their synergistic energy; they become completely absorbed in the moment - the purest form of happiness. So glad to have found them.
Totally cool. Classical, jazz and bluegrass rolled into a great performance.
At 4:27 I thought the reflection off the fiddle was actual flames and thought nothing of it.
Perfect 😂
So funny, A+
It definitely should have been on fire after that solo good lord!
Man, that fiddle solo is completely incredible.
Ahhh I can't wait to see them again!! The talent this group of musicians have is nothing short of amazing. They are simply moving in a way no other music has moved me.
And moving in another sense..
I actually got emotional listening to that!
Off the charts..
Man these live versions are even better than the recordings! Can’t wait to see the P Bros in Columbus again! (Hint hint)
Dustin Clark actual musicians are able to play their songs better than their studio recordings.
Yes! Come to Columbus!
Power to truth , it's simply an observation of something that is a rarity.
Joshua yeah makes me sick to see musicians on stage that can't perform the song anywhere near how it sounds on studio. Shameful
agreed
I agree competely.
Helluva fiddle solo indeed
Shit's on fire, yo.
.
Watching them play fills me with joy.
I just spent 5 minutes watching 5 grown men tickle some metal wires... and I enjoyed every second of it.
helena helefe a journey into sound
well i guess that's one way to put it
that's not the only thing these men tickled tonight..
My god, so much talent in this group
Amazing, my cousin introduced me to the lot of you… not disappointed.😎
The very definition of mastering your art..

Later folks
Adoration, pure and simple. My sweet soul.
Amazing! Would have loved to see Chick Corea jam with you guys! That sounded like it came out of his brain. Just crazy good guys! ❤
I could nothing but giggle in pure joy after finishing that song
Staying true to your roots and constantly improving. Amazing.

This is one of the nerdiest songs I've ever heard. Even better live. God bless these guys.
This reminds me of classical music. Absolutely great!
This gets better everytime I hear it!
Never heard of you brother's before until I watched CBS This Morning and all I can say is...woooow :-) Your music helps to take me out the mundane weekend blues ;-) Thanks for sharing your talent and play on brother's !!
Welcome to the club. Such an underrated band, just the way I like it.
Utterly amazing! Keep bending the boundaries. Thank you so much!
My new Fav.
Fantastic. Also, accidentally played this at 1.5x speed on one of my listens and it's a totally different song.
I'm playing it back at quarter speed. I'm not done yet...
@@EdwinGWhite hahahaha!
well, I had to do that... dang the punchy parts at beginning really hit fierce! lol
Truely modern and art filled quintet..😉👌 bravo!!!!!!!
Exquisite. Amazing!
I would so love to hear a Punch Brothers take on “New Country” by Jean Luc Ponty. You guys rule!
I really love this song. Amazing band.
Just wonderful!
Extraordinary orchestrations!

God it's so good!
Right out of Mike Marshall & Darol Anger. Awesome and flashes me back 40 years.
Mr.Dustin clark,i will get back with you tomorrow for tonight at the Ace theather in Los Angeles Ca. I am seeing the punch Brothers. at 8pm its only 4:30.I can't wait. Till tomortow.
Awesome!!!
That was awesome!
this one sounds like if it belongs to the goat rodeo sessions.. amazing!
This was awesome. I wanted them to continue for like a few more minutes and then it would have become epic.
ikr!!
You guys are all ridiculously good
I saw you guys at Roskilde festival back in 2012 and it was probably the greatest live concert I've ever experienced.
I will see you gentlemen in Copenhagen.
Have they come up with a name for this level of playing yet?
Oh so awesome!
So SO good. Tightest bluegrass band around. Video work was incredible too!
Chris certainly likes his wiiiiiiiide collars. He could fly away on those things.
You know why right? Look how tiny his shoulders are.
They fit him well. I want a shirt like that.
absolutely gorgeous again! come to ireland soon damnit!!
nice...Punch Bros are back!
favourite song i’m in lOVE
Really enjoyed that

Just amazing music
LOVE the single mike recording!
That's a constraint that's needlessly constraining, maybe it's 'old timey', but it impairs what we hear.
Really like this one
3/4 time ...brilliant!
So damn good.
I don't understand how anyone could thumbs this down. Jealous and envious trolls I suppose. Y'all throw down now, ya hear?
Sound good fellas!
Superb
Man I'd love to be their neighbor!
"That was fun"
Me: 😭😭😭
V for Victory
Sweet!
Holy Crap on a pancake ... That right there ... that shit blew my tiny mind! Wowza...
Black and white forever, for infinity. (As we know it)
Do what I wish, or else!
You will never have what you want. I do.
YEAH!!
Nice.
What's the mic?
Would be much better in stereo.
So cool when these circles things are done that way; feel like you are literally sitting in the middle, where the mic is,
magnifique!
Yessssssss. The Radiohead of progressive Bluegrass. IMO :)
Anna Ross
Indeed (:
Radiohead is the Punch Brothers of alternative rock.
not inaccurate .
Excellent
Strong.
The song's title made think this would be their take on Beethoven 5!
Muito bom!
delicious
Always better live!
i love you ... --
#HEYKOOL-AID
i just got my ears Punched Bro . . .
and LOVEdit! =)
SAME!
👌👌👌
Love 😍😍😍
I feel this song in 6/8. Why does he count off in 3?
They start off in 3/4 but they change meter throughout, including 6/8.
My banjo is going to sue me.
зашло))

6/8
... / XXX!
Bluegrass boss fight music
amazing ... they not Blue Grass!! Thank Goodness!!
three dots and a dash? morse code? V?
Could be the Roman numeral for five? Five in the band or possibly their fifth LP?
Likely a nod to the Chicago cocktail and punch drink joint.
Time signature of the song is 3/4
Possibly an ode to Beethoven's fifth? Three dots and a dash is Morse code for Roman numeral 5(V), the intro to Beethoven's fifth symphony is three quick notes and a longer one.

Who disliked this?...tools
Yeah, how dare those people have their own music taste and opinions. Not sure if having you own musical taste makes you a tool, but judging others based on that definitely makes you seem like one.
Nah, Tool is cool, it's a bunch of Rels
Yes, I disliíked this. Tools are ok, but music is wrong. Without heart.
.
Good but 1:59 and 4:09 was really unnecessary. A good music speaks for itself. Next time you'll be like "Yeah yeah what a sound system".
Musicians reacting! Blasphemy!
