Symbol! I always organize by symbol. It’s the fastest method. You don’t need a legend as an intermediate step. Your brain goes straight from symbol on the canvas to symbol in your container or tray. Memorize the order across all kits so it’s always automatic. Every time I use this order: numbers,letters, keyboard symbols (+._,=,%,# etc) then dots, lines, lines w dots, circles triangles, squares, arrows, then miscellaneous symbols like anchors, stars, etc. every single kitup is done the same in the same order. Makes life so much easier.
I put them in DMC order, but I do paint by the symbols. I never look at the DMC until I go to kit down. I imagine it also makes a difference if you usually work on kits from the same company.
So many pretty colors even if it was a challenge to figure out the coding. Great job! And I love how you always give your video ending verbiage and remind me to hit the 👍🏼 so I have time to give you proper credit 💎♥️ happy 🍟day

I organize my storage by DMC but have been thinking to try by color. Can’t wait for your #dpforpets event. I purchased my very first Oraloa canvas, “Moby” just for this event and so excited to work on this. 🤗
I love kitting up! I’ve decided on my chickadee budget dp. It has 20 colors, rounds, and a very neutral palette. It’s only 30x40, but I am sloooooow. I have almost zero AB’s in these tones so I may place an order to dpwithsparklers 💎 ps. It’s a lot of confetti 🎉
Hi Daphne~ I kit up in what ever order the bags of drills are in. So bag number one becomes number one in my tray, bag number two becomes number two in my tray, etc. etc. And I’ve just kitted up my first canvas for dpforpets2023, which is an image of rainbow colored butterflies. This way, I’m going to be using it for double duty - your event, and Chris K’s pride event. And I’m looking forward to both!
I'm very early into the hobby, so I swap my diamond order a fair bit. Doing them by symbols is nice, but Ive found out recently that placing them in a rainbow order looks really pretty and gets me excited to sit down and diamond paint ✨️

I am participating in your event for the first time, and I think that I am doing the canvas Scarlett Macaw from DAC. When I kit up, I first put in the numbers, then the alphabet, and then all the symbols are in DMC order, and I pretty quickly get used to where each symbol is. 😊💜
Love the colours! That painting is going to be so much fun! Depends on the kit and my mood as to how I order my drills. Most times I leave them in DMC as that is easier for kitting down. But sometimes that irritates me when I’m painting so I will put them in symbol order.
If I'm using the storage you have here on the screen, I put them in there to fit. So no order really. LOL I usually leave them in the order they came unless they fit better another way. Like more storages in a row or container. If I use Harbor Freights', then I put them in there the order they came.
I just completed your Goggle form and went to your Instagram account and clicked on the follow symbol. Do I need to enter a start picture on June 1st? Will there be an Instagram # we will need to use? I’m very new at tech endeavors so I hope it will go well for me. (I had to have my Granddaughter help me already.) i hope to kit up this week. There are only 22 colors so I will be using my Harbor Freight container. I organize my labels by numbers, then letters, then symbols. I also write the DMC number on the same label to use for kitting down as I save my drills. I really enjoy your videos and listening to your process for moving to Canada.

I usually use DMC, unless it’s a DAC kit. For whatever reason, I do those differently. 🤷♀️
I have my containers numbered. I then just put them in the containers in number order from the chart.
