As a bottle collector, that labeled hair tonic bottle is amazing to see. Labeled bottles are usually found in attics or abandoned houses. I have actually heard of 120 year old fully labeled bottles coming out in perfect condition from old cabinets in abandoned homes. The house itself has held up very good, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is lived in again in the near future. I find it interesting that city folks like the idea of a country life, have money, and yet you still see many of these old homes in exceptional condition, abandoned.

Becoming overwhelmed in the process. Hurt, shock, family discord, unable to move it out due to physical limitations, no one you can ask for help, lack of storage to keep the items in... Lots of reasons for walking away and taking only small items to cherish. Besides that these homes are used as storage as is bcs its cheaper to pay taxes so they sit & rot.
this old house must have a good roof you dont see any water damage inside so the floors are probably ok unless there's some hidden TD (termite damage) : )
You know something happened when someone leaves their Christmas items behind... at least in my opinion. I cannot imagine leaving my holiday stuff behind unless it was an emergency.
I bet that the fire chief was the dad, he passed away, they had a funeral and were so depressed. So they just decided to leave and left all the stuff they remembered about their father.

Looked like orbs following you around and looked like old love letters in the wooden box behind tractor trophies and it looks like after they had the funeral they left the funeral flowers there so sad.
I think it was a couple (the Stewart’s) and they lived there after he retired from the service. Miss Stewart was the daughter before she got married and the toys were for their grandkids.
