I rode a ThyssenKrupp Evolution 200 at an Intercontinental Restort & Spa in Ras Al Khaimah. These elevators are also smart key-carded which means after I swipe the card, I can only access my floor and not the other floors.
That smart keycard system is lame. Also, it’s odd that they have a proper HID access control system as well as the traditional hotel access control system.
Very nice elevators, but if you think conventional keycard readers are bad enough, the SMART keycards are WORSE, since they restrict access to that particular floor rather than having the elevators locked off but one keycard for all floors. Now I do think that smart keycards might be good for places like residential towers and high security government or school buildings, but for hotels or especially historic buildings, it's going way too far.
In my old office building in Washington DC they had DataWatch smart keycards and it only worked for your floor only. But unless security has a smart keycard and can access any floor in the building including janitors. I used to be a tenant in the building and use to have an office suite on the 2nd floor and it would only work for my floor. Then we moved one floor up to the third and it worked for the third floor. But then we had temporary space on the 8th floor and it worked for the 8th floor. They were Otis Elevonic 411 series 1 fixtures and the building was built in like 1991 or 1992. I had my take on the elevators before when I was a tenant in the building. But I kept the location undisclosed to respect the building owners and tenants and security in the building and management. But I told security about my hobby and they didn’t mind me filming as long as I didn’t name the location of the building
So would the keyreader let you go to five or below that (above lobby) or only your room's floor? If it only lets you go to your floor, then the keyreader's rigged.
Evolutions don't have the kind of brake sounds the Synergies make and kinda have a unique motor sound. I believe they only make Synergies for custom installs now, but I might be mistaken.
If you credit the artist of the music in your videos then you don't have to fear a copyright strike I know you try to avoid hotels and other buildings for that reason also wish there was a way to ask hotel management to turn the music down in the future so you don't have to talk over it
so far the room looks really neat, can't wait for the full in depth tour!:)

Smart key cards are kinda dumb because then you can't use the ice machine on another floor if the one on your floor is out of service.
Totally
Awesome ❤
Depending on when this hotel was built, I wonder if these may be TKE Evolutions but I could be wrong. Nice elevators though!!
Yeah, these are most likely Evolutions. They don't sound like Synergies.
It’s new. I googled it. I think 2020
These are tractions and the chime trick works. TK’s other mid-rise traction, the synergy, doesn’t have the chime trick.
I love those white buttons on the Thyssenkrupp Elevators
Me too.
@@collincorley7737 my school has that one as well
The elevator race videos are hilarious and neat!
I hope to see more videos of it soon!
Well I will try to do some.
Why did they skip 2?
Cool elevator!
Wow thats pretty cool
These are extremely nice!!
That smart keycard system is lame. Also, it’s odd that they have a proper HID access control system as well as the traditional hotel access control system.
see you
next time!
Nice. But that smart keycard setup would be really annoying if there with a group and need to visit someone on another floor.
where does the rear door on the second elevator go?
probably the maintenance room.
I like this. I have an 11 as well.
Nice i have a xr
Nice. I got a 12 Pro Max.
Why do smart keycards exist
just use normal ones
Probably for extra security.

The key card reader will only unlock the floor your room is on.
@@DieselDucy that's absolutely messed up. You should've probably asked the manager for a master key
@@dmvelevatorsandmore The SMART key readers are for safety purposes.
@@elevatorgaming6712 🤬🤬. I'd just beg the manager for a master key so I can film the whole trip
Those are Evolutions! And I think they’re your first!
How do we know this? If so, this is cool! Is synergy no longer made?
Evolutions don't have the kind of brake sounds the Synergies make and kinda have a unique motor sound.
I believe they only make Synergies for custom installs now, but I might be mistaken.
@@DieselDucy They still make Synergy to this day
Evolutions make a distinct brake release sound that I’m pretty sure I heard before it went down.
If you put it in fire service mode.
Ok
@@DieselDucy or independent service
I forgot about that
But I don’t understand why your key card will only let you go to the floor where your room is like why won’t let you go to any other floor.
Is there a hotel tour coming soon
Why does the arrow go out too soon?!
Thyssenkrupp controller.
Very nice
If the elevator is key carded, how do you get to the lobby on the third floor, or is the lobby unlocked?
I think it's unlocked since that's the lobby.
@@DJSpinSter2004 yes, I saw that once the hotel tour came out
Lobby is unlocked.
Nice elevators and nice hotel room! How was Atlanta during that time! What happened to Signa4 buttons? Doesn't TKE still make them?
They still make Signa4, but not with the original buttons. They now use MAD fixtures.
So no more original Signa4 Black Buttons?
🥺😭😞
@@BuildingToursForLife1660-4 Nope. RIP. 😞 I honestly wish they kept producing those fixtures, they looked so cool.
@@DJSpinSter2004 yeah why did they stop making those?
@@BuildingToursForLife1660-4 I have no clue.
Are these MRL
Yes.
Nice video of the day.❤🎉. 0:12 .❤🎉. 0:21 .
Why are those elevators Key Carded And Will Only Let You Go To The Floor Where Your Room Is.
That is how it is
What does smart key carded mean
Means your card will only open your floor
@@DieselDucy if you put it in fire service then you would have access to any floor.
Hold on, I thought ThyssenKrupp discontinued the signa4 parts
My school has that elevator, no keycard thougj
Cool
I wonder if these are Standard Traction or Evolution. Cause if I’m wrong these probably can’t be Synergy
I'm thinking it's an Evolution. Definitely not Synergy.
Very nice elevators
Nice elevators 👍
thanks!
Why didn’t you press the rear floor buttons?
I don’t know lol
Why isn’t there a second floor?
not sure.
At least that you can go a little bit higher than 6 rather than 7.
I don't think they should be smart keyed because we need to allow time for other guests to quickly press their floor once the key is scanned.
Agreed
That's actually a good point. All of this might be because of crime.
It’s got a grocery beep
yep
Installed in late 2020s
Yep
mad atoll?
Yeah
Yep.
Who invented Smart Keycards anyways??
maaf 🙏 saya tidak bisa mendonLot Fidiyo ini karena FaiL saya sudah penuh kayak seperti = Lif

unfortunately not. They will still monetize YOUR video.
Elevator Ai
Yep 👍
My local Aloft has KONEs from 2019. Tbh these are much better
Your guess is as good as mine, but Thyssenkrupp is amazing i can say that @DieselDucy
Awesome ❤❤❤
Nice hotel and epic motor on that elevator I must say
