    The first class carriage is in fact "new" (2014-present), not refurbished! They are produced by Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych in Poznań and are capable of reaching 200 kph.

    • @KUBUTECH911
      @KUBUTECH911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      In Poland we had 8 types of carriages which had those black stripes around the windows and that was the unique desing of the refurbished carriages which was renewed in FPS Poznań between 2011 and 2015 - even on the carriage in 4:24 you can see that it has been refurbished - FPS P5 (which means the most complicated modernization) and the date of built: 1`st of April 2015.
      All of them are capable to achieve 200 km/h.
      The first generation:
      164A - First class carraige (yellow stripes) without compartments - you can identify it by looking at the LED "train end" lights which in that case have clear glass
      165A - Second class carraige (green stripes) without compartments - the same as above
      166A - First class carraige (yellow stripes) with compartments - you can identify it by looking at the LED "train end" lights which in that case have clear glass
      167A - Second class carraige (green stripes) with compartments - the same as above
      The second generation:
      156A - First class carraige (yellow stripes) with compartments - you can identify it by looking at the LED "train end" lights which in that case have misted glass
      157Aa - Second class carraige (green stripes) with compartments - the same as above (it has doors it he midlle part of the carriage)
      158A - First class carraige (yellow stripes) without compartments - you can identify it by looking at the LED "train end" lights which in that case have misted glass
      159A - Second class carraige (green stripes) without compartments - the same as above
      158A is a modernization of 164A
      , 159A is a modernization of 165A, 156A is a modernization of 166A or 167A (that depends on the particular carriage - part of 156A come from 166A, and the second part come from upgraded second class 167A)
      +doc7austin’s DreamlinerCentral - If you would like to see the whole list of carriages which are used in Poland, I`ve created excel spreasheet where I described all of them with subtypes, bogey types and the allocation - each carriage has it`s own picture / miniature and description of the special features :D

    Great line. I was really pleasantly surprised by Polish modern train stations, so cool! I didn't expected that as a Czech. Our railways built during Austro-Hungarian empire were always in a better condition but seeing the progress in Poland, the new modern infrastructure in Poland is looking way more futuristic than ours. The service, however, is still better in CZ/SK I think as there are private operators like Regiojet and Leo.

      Actually, in western - northern Poland railway network was built mostly by Germans late XIX early XX century. It was pretty dense network and it worked good up until 1980's (over a billion passengers annualy) when the political crisis hit the country and PKP got hit by a ricochet, which led to deep cuts in funds and big quality drop. Transformation of 89' didn't do good for rail network too. Constant underfunding led to degradation of infrastructure and rolling stock, which PKP tried to fight by not necessarily nice means. Entire 90' and early 2000's were the times when PKP was purposely fucking up schedules and stock choices to extungiush the demand on the least profitable lines, then closing and demounting it. During that period our rail network shrinked by 8000km, which is insane, There are quite popular book about this era called "Ostre cięcie. Jak niszczono polską kolej" ("Hard cut. How the polish railway got destroyed").
      They still does that, but on much smaller scale. Anyway, some of their choices are still incomprehensible to most of the public, but at least we managed to stop destructive spree on our rails and now we're slowly rebuilding it.

      There was a major renovation of main train stations before Euro 2012. Poland has changed over past 30 years. In some respects more than Czech Republic.

    • @jmsmilfajt
      @jmsmilfajt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@candelas31 Poland has surpassed Czechia in the construction of highways and in these train station renovations. A lot of stations were collecting dust here in CZ for long years due to everlasting transition of train station buildings from ČD to SŽ.
      Since the transition was over (2017), many buildings were nicely repaired and even right now, many are repaired. It's a huge leap from 2016. Now even the smallest local stations are renovated with new facade, roof, benches, lights, etc...

    Great video doc7austin :)
    I have to say that I really like your videos from our country because you always catch trains whic hare in some ways unique.
    For example - nowadays Intercity "Hewliusz" is the only train which is leaded by EU07A locomotives (3:45). For ordinary people who see that this is the most common locomotive in Poland it isn`t really unique but for people like me whose life is based on a railway industry that locomotive was the best invention of polish railway industry :)
    Why it is unique ?
    First of all - only 3 EU07A exist. Secodary, without deep diving into the physic and construction aspects, that locomotive is using AC traction motors in opposite to the normal EU/EP07 locomotives (They are equiped with brushed DC motors) and thanks to that they can achieve the speed which is technicaly 160 km/h but those locomotives withstand 200 - 230 km/h trips :)
    And finally - they are equipped with IGBT transistors which are used to regulate the amount of current, delivered to the motors - In opossite of the classic EU07 which uses sets of contactors and resistors to regulate that.
    That is a great invention but sadly nowadays it is completely unrealiable to create more of them....
    But again thanks for the great video and I hope that you are in great condition in those difficult times :D

    EU07A is actually very good modernisation of the good ol' EU07. It's basically new engine built in EU07 case. Beside the case and frame there is not a single part left from old EU07 loco. I can't even comprehend why PKP InterCity won't order further modernisations, given it was first introduced in 2011... and having in stock over 300 EU/EP07 engines, of which majority is vastly... overfatigued? (couldn't find better word) obsolete and their lifespans are greatly exceeded

    • @jerrypawlak2396
      @jerrypawlak2396 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no. Local trains are mostly accessible for blind, elderly, and wheelchairs. Same thing with ICC EMU. BUT... in later train company in addition to your disable ticket (that is often almost or free) you have to call in and announce your travel, so they will make sure that train you chose have accessible wagon and crew is informed to wait for you and help you get in and out. (I'm skipping on mutes/deaf as they don't really have any problems with train travel besides checking the stations - but next stop displays are now a standard so that should not be a problem too).
      On the other hand (now it is not a problem as pneumatic are used becouse of C19 - normally not used lots of power for air compression and becouse you have to attach all carts with second [besides brakes] pneumatic cable) opening a harmonica doors require in some carts quite a push (and it is courtesy in here that if you can you do it for people near)

Ja osobiscie znalazlem ostatnie miejsce siedzaze na stolku . Byl zaduch, i ciasnota.. a ten mi uwage zwracal opryskliwie ze zle siedze. Po PRLowskie chamstwo nie zniknelo z zycia Polakow w tamtym czasie 2011 2015 . Okropna obsluga .
