As the Luo say: gikmoko iweyo, ji wede ( sins of the past are forgiven, we're related). Kenyatta is 30+ years dead. Whatever his mistakes, that ain't reason for the current crop of leaders to use them as their excuse for poor leadership. It took South Korea just 20 years to beat poverty, ten years less than the period Kenyatta has been dead. Forget Jomo Kenyatta, let's forge ahead fearless and steadfast.

Very true, this should never be forgotten: infact it should be spoken, sang and perhaps even trumpeted ludly on parapets to subsequent generations of our country who shall come and unmask leaders who steal and plunder and pretend to be heroes of their nations. Perhaps because of the mantra tusahau yaliyopita tujenge nchi yetu, popular after indepencence leaders that cane after kenyatta stole and plundered our nation at will.

@@georgeodhiambo598 you're right, but it can't be the song we sing every day instead of working to forge ahead. The Jomo Kenyatta song is now like a broken record stuck at one code. Historical injustices are the reason why we are procrastinating; the moment the pending land issues are addressed, and the accused surrender illegally acquired land to the government, to settle squatters- our problems will be 3/4 solved; especially in Mt Kenya, Rift valley and the coastal region.
