Gumball and Penny is really like an improved version of Richard and Nicole. When Penny and Nicole gets angry, they get really scary and turns into something huge and most of the time, it's Gumball and Richard who gets them angry and got them in trouble. But the difference is that Gumball is more matured and smart than his father and Penny controls her anger and patience better than Nicole. But I still love the both couple so much.
There's a chance Gumball won't end up lazy as Richard tho because Nicole is raising him, there was an episode where it shows how the kids became lazy and stupid because of bunny Jojo raising them for a day.
Well... Richard couldn't mature well, and Nicole didn't have a good childhood that we can say because of her parents, I think that in spite of everything they made an effort to make Gumball not go through the same thing and have a better childhood and development that they couldn't have , Gumball was able to grow up and be happy and Penny was able to have more self-esteem and confidence

I don’t think “underutilized” can begin to describe the state of Penny Fitzgerald in contemporary _Gumball._ You know, I didn’t think I was expecting too much from the series or the writers. I thought Penny would accompany Gumball on a couple of misadventures and grow as a character along the way. “The Shell” certainly gave me the impression we would be seeing more of her. I didn’t expect her to become a character as prominent as any of the Wattersons, but I thought she would have an undeniable presence in the series regardless. Reasonable enough, right? I thought so at least. I thought many things. I thought she would receive two to three major roles a season, with several minor parts accompanying these episodes. Together, these appearances would have granted her ample opportunity to be developed, and would in turn have established her as an important character. I thought she would learn to overcome her insecurities as she explored the world without her shell, discovering her true worth as a person with the help of Gumball. I thought she would shape-shift more often in the same vein as “The Shell” and later “The Romantic”. I figured she would discover new forms over time as she came to grips with her abilities and ultimately gained control over them. I thought her relationship with Gumball would be developed, that their bond would be tested, enduring in spite of the challenges they face and the differences they have. I presumed we would learn more about how the two complete each other and what makes them work together. I thought I wasn’t expecting too much from the show or the writers. Reality ensued. I didn’t think her presence would become so scarce as to be nonexistent. The majority of her roles after season 3 - “The Misunderstandings”, “The Ex”, and “The Mess” respectively - only have her play peripheral bits, opting to shove her to the sidelines while the rest of the cast gallivant around the screen without her. What little attention she is afforded past season 3 takes the form of “The Romantic” and “The Transformation”, *88* episodes and two seasons divided. As a result of this profound neglect, she has transitioned from an important character to an elaborate background fixture, far removed from both the greater narrative and the mind’s of the writers. I didn’t think her speaking roles would dwindle away to the point there is a real possibility she will only speak three times in season 6. I didn’t think she would start disappearing from the background - a consequence of her appearances from season 4 onward amounting to only a third of what they once were. I didn’t think the writers would ignore the revelations made in “The Shell” and never again touch upon the nuances that make her a three-dimensional character. I didn’t think her shape-shifting would all but vanish after season 4, with “The Romantic” marking the final time it would be featured in a capacity beyond cheap, disposable punch lines (barring an honorable exception for “The Blame”). Following the events of “The Blame”, *68* episodes would pass before her abilities would return during “The Transformation”, in a conflict revolving around the ramifications of her breaking free from her shell. Despite her shape-shifting and the removal of her shell going hand in hand however, it’s not addressed by her inexplicably oblivious parents, even as she proceeds to transform from across the table. Twice. It’s an oversight that is as perplexing as it is egregious. I didn’t think she and Gumball would have grown further apart after they became a couple, their romantic interactions becoming scarce before essentially disappearing altogether during season 5. “The Romantic” would be the last instance in which a story centered around their relationship; as of this writing, there are *97* episodes that have since aired. This is all further compounded by how estranged the two have become as a result of the negativity that is rife in their recent interactions. Their dynamic has devolved into one of apathy and ire, where if Gumball isn’t regarding Penny and her plights with relative indifference (“The Ex” and “The Transformation”), he instead infuriates her with his ignorance and incompetence (“The Misunderstandings” and “The Mess”). The love that once defined their bond is no more than a faint memory, a fleeting light in times where Gumball would sooner fawn over his nemesis than stand up for Penny when her parents attempt to force her back into her shell. And finally, I didn’t think I would one day find myself on TH-cam composing what has become a ludicrous harangue, and all because of the fondness I have for an incandescent, shape-shifting, cartoon jelly fairy. In the end though? I thought wrong. (It remains to be seen if the final seven episodes will do anything to rectify these grievances. Penny’s character arc was laid to rest during “The Transformation”, quashing any hope that it would ever be elaborated upon. Likewise, her shape-shifting being glossed over in the same episode - contrary to it being a direct consequence of her forgoing her shell - suggests a similar fate will befall her mercurial form. Her relationship with Gumball may yet see a resurgence, albeit with a flagrant disregard for punctuality.)

I always thought of the shell as Pandora's box and Penny as uncontrollable chaos. I don't think the shell was for nothing. Perhaps the development of the character was that she ended up believing she was a "supreme gods race" or something... and that eventually, perhaps unconsciously, she has something to do with the void consuming that dimension. But maybe we'll never know.

More ironic is that I recently did a write-up on these things, so they're still really fresh on the mind.
It's not often such interesting conversation can occur in a TH-cam comment section.
I like that there relationship actually gets to grow and get stronger and isn’t reset after every episode ends then at the end of the series they get married and it’s over....
Like some other show I could mention...
AHEM... Phineas and...... ahemmm uhhh nothing
This is why she is one of my favorite characters in this show...
Penny out of her shell kind of remind of Donna Tubbs & Lois Griffin combined
I agree
@@xonnaxaswaterxinternet6813 nice
@@xonnaxaswaterxinternet6813 I agree with that because she has the quiet silence like Lois but full toughness like Donna
@@xoceanxuniversetherapper6240 Penny would almost remind me of Kerry Washington
Awesome
1:08 gave me yung blue vibes
I loved penny until I realized that she's the same voice actor for Gumball's mom, and then I got weirded out.
Yeah, it kind of bothers me a little

Well this is a perfect example of those times when you just gotta *open up* to what you really want to say towards people.

She does make a good point about the characters' fashion
Unreal Galaxy in my defense
THAT BEAR IS JUST WEARING A T SHIRT
THE PEICE OF TOAST IS ONLY WEARING SHOES AND GLOVES
AND THAT DINOSAUR IS WEARING NOTHING AT ALL
Unreal Galaxy her family is the embodiment of oppression
Wow, her and Gumball are a perfect couple. Both of them are snarky and sassy as all get out when they decide to stand their ground
Guys, I can just imagine this:
Penny = Nicole
Gumball = Richard
Gumball and Penny are just too cute together
Yeah, i would fall in love with a girl like that
Agente [REDACTADO] who wouldn’t
Me too
I always thought of the shell as Pandora's box and Penny as uncontrollable chaos.
I don't think the shell was for nothing.
Perhaps the development of the character was that she ended up believing she was a "supreme gods race" or something... and that eventually, perhaps unconsciously, she has something to do with the void consuming that dimension.
But maybe we'll never know.
“Piece of toast”
Honestly she was too underused in this show. She should have gotten more attention, especially after breaking out of her shell.
Penny, The Most Mysterious Character
the bug spray got me everytime lol
Thanks for making this episode nowadays people who make the gumball episodes wont activate comments
This is why penny is my fav

Do you think this is funny!
You are going back in your shell and that’s final!
This is why Penny is my favorite character from the show
And this is what happens if you spend too much time with Gumball

Gumball (Fearless Leader)
Darwin (Class Clown)
Anais (Tough Fighter)
Penny (Lovely ShapeShifter)
Baxter (OC) (Underdog)

uh...she can see "everything" through the phone right?
Penny's so sassy that the sweat avoids her mouth
Whoever voice Penny is a fucking badass.
It's the same person that voices Nicole
It could have been “The bug sprayer”
I meant “The poker”
Gumball and penny are just perfect for each other what a cute couple 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
While alone at home slowly getting depressed because I WELL KNOW I AINT GETTING A GIRLFRIEND NOW OR FOR THE END OF LIFE 😡😞😥
Welcome to my world… 😔
... while I know perfectly that I'm way too dangerously unstable to even have a friend... Why not that EH
Penny is more prettier when she came out of her shell
She's so cute!
The bug spray….oh 😢
LOVE PENNY
Bro I don't know why Penny's family wants to hide from themselves!! And they literally *FORCE* the own daugther to be like them. A bunch of cowards who hide from who they really are in nutshells. Sometimes I think Penny is the only who is sentient of that and her parents disrespect Gumball's family over nothing.
I really like how they made Penny more confident and thus more funny...
I don’t care much for the design though. Like, it’s fine, but Peanut with Moose Antler was just more unique to me.
I like how the title says "Penny's"
I want to know as a huge Penny Fitzgerald fan like myself what do you like so much about fairy Penny I'll be honest I started liking her a lot more after she came out of her shell too?
Please let this video be safe from COPPA's deranged presence on TH-cam

I'm in love 💙💙💙
I just found out that the voice actor of Nicole watterson is the voice actor of penny 💀
Best couple of all time
the bug spray one had me rolling
We need more Penny in the show she the best come on writers give her 3 roles in Season 7 please like she had in Seasons 1 and 2.
The goodest girl and (supposedly) most important character who isn't a Watterson deserves more than a paltry 3.
4 or 5 and if not they've failed us again.
@@1Lukeskywalker202 Yeah defintaly 5 but I don't think that will happen since the most a character had in a season is 3 with Penny herself, Rob and Mr Robinsion but yeah she like you said the goodest girl in the entire show sucks the show stop caring for her much after Season 4 maybe if they didn't focus on annoying and useless characters like Tobias, Ocho Mr Cornille, Hot Dog Guy etc maybe she would've gotten more roles.
Also you plan to make more Penny videos in the future I miss them honestly?
