Dean killing the Stynes is one of my all-time favorite scenes. "But you only have one brain" is the best line in the episode followed by his incredible speed of pulling the gun out and shooting Styne. Awesome scene.
But then he attacks cas😢

It’s like the Venom movies…or any movies that features an anti-hero. Hollywood can’t do “bad guys live” movies. It always has to have a silver lining. Something warming. You do this, by creating even worse people than the protagonist, in order to justify the killing. However? In this case? It works. But Dean wouldn’t have a shred of moral compass, so it would likely not work... But in theory? In the supernatural show, vampires only feeding on bad people could work…just as Dean murdering bad people could work. It’s how you’d use the power of evil for good. But that doesn’t happen in real life. The innocent are who gets hurt.
@@kessilrun6754 i disagree. You can always tell a story of an Evil Person taking out the Competition. Hollywood just doesnt do it. But Plenty of People in Dungeons and Dragons Parties do it.

Mark of Cain Dean was OP as fuck. I especially loved how he overpowered a vampire, and told him to look him in his eyes, as he cut his head off.

I will be honest (even though I'm a bit ashamed) and admit that as many times as I've rewatched the Mark of Cain arc, I never noticed the knife was dull side out when he killed Alex's "brother". So thank you for enlightening me! It kind of makes the scene about ten times better ;)
He actually flipped it to the sharp edge, the other side was the serrated blade which is made for a sawing action, like cutting wood.
Not only that but in that scene, Dean looks like his younger self - especially at the point when he said 'look at me bitch!'

The "look at me bitch" scene, he was NOT using the blunt edge of the knife. He clearly turns it so that the bladed side is facing back towards the vamp. Key details.

@@potatoman7594 Clearly you've never seen a machete in person lol. Machetes are single-edged, because they're designed for bushwhacking, which you only use one edge for. If you're referring to the saw teeth as an edge, they aren't. They're for sawing, not slicing.

But people ship Dean with Cas a lot, not to mention Dean's listing of his reference idols includes men as well as women, his 'moment' with a man in a bar when he was interviewing some girls and when he discovers a club and gets 'had' by the chief. Just search up Dean being straight for almost 5 minutes bi and you'll see what I mean. Personally, I believe Dean is bisexual, due to how he acts around Cas as well as other moments and due to John he was forced to repress these feelings

Abbadon was training to be a Woman Of Letters in the original American MOL, then went on a mission with Henry Winchester one day, and got possessed and went with Henry, killed all of American MOL, and Henry came to the future and ended up dying there from I think Abbadon? Then she caused some mayhem in the future to become the queen of hell, but then was killed by Dean cause of the MOC.
No, Abbadon was a demon who possessed a woman training to be a Woman of Letters.

This episode with the Stynes (and of course Cas T-T) is one of my favorite of all seasons. MoC Dean will always remain as a badass in my head even if he was kind of a dick at the end >.>

The writers had a great concept to work with and they really dropped the ball on the Mark of Cain saga with the usual filler episodes. Such a shame. It felt like only 5-7 episodes every season were really close to the main season plot. I really wanted to see more of Dean and this mark.

Am I the only one who's going to point out that Dean just casually nudging the cup off the table at 2:07, staring the dude *in the face*, is something cats do when they're being little shits. Like, this is so very something cats do, this deadpan, "what you gonna do about it?" sass as they push something off the table because they want attention.

not quite sure if it matters but it might have been for the fact they were humans. they were drug dealers, human traffickers, rapists, loan sharks etc. dean is ''the hero'' but he has done some dark crap but darkness suits dean and often leaves me wanting more.

My favorite Dean line and moment. “You took everything from me, now I’m going to take everything from you…” Badass. It’s as good as the “next one’s coming faster…” scene from Season 3 Justified episode “Harlan Roulette”. Two killer examples of great writing and great acting making something special, albeit something extremely dark and menacing, too, especially Dean. I have never understood the debate. The character of Dean is levels above the rest of the characters on the show, and you can give Ackles the credit because he’s a remarkable actor, so much depth, detail and nuance to his performances, especially the character he knows best. Superb skill and execution. Jared is a fine thespian, as well, same as Misha, et al, are simply a really solid bunch of actors all around but Ackles stands out and above.

It's possible with a ton of training you can sharpen your reflexes to a point like this you see it in competition shooters they may have sped up the frame a little for dramatic effect of him pulling his pistol.
