Lolllll, oh noooo!! 😂 Kyuho and I probably BOTH would have peed our pants in that situation, as we don't do well with that stuff at all. So glad you guys have been together for three years 😁

my first date with my current boyfriend / now fiance was going to the beach, he tried to plan everything perfectly. but it was the opposite, we were caught in a storm, he tried to act he was okay when he hit his head on the roof, accidentally put the wrong sunscreen that he had hives, but the effort was there. :)

wow, about the cohabitation thing: my japanese husband and i met online, and when he first came to visit my country and meet me face to face, i rented us a one room apartment so we could make the most of the the five short days we had (i lived with my grandma, so him staying there was out of the question lol). we were super lovey-dovey online and already talking about possibly getting married if we got along well in real life, so i just wanted us to have that space to bond as a couple, rather than just going out together and me crashing at hotel room or something. from my perspective, i did a very practical thing, and he appreciated my arrangements, but i just now realize he must have been pretty weirded out by it!

When I had my first date with my husband, I offered to drive his car. He was still new to the area and didn't know how to get to the restaurant I suggested. He was driving a Honda Accord, and the breaks are very touchy. I didn't know this since I have only driven my parents Ford Windstar. When I was trying to pull out of the parking lot and went to press the brake pedal to stop. Well, I pressed too hard too fast and slammed on the brakes. Both our seatbelt's locked up and we thrust forward. It was so embarrassing, but he was patient and understanding since he did the same thing when he first got the vehicle. LOL! Our first date was definitely eventful and has many more embarrassing and entertaining stories.
We went to this expensive restaurant on the pier in Monterey. The place had been described as the best dinner spot for couples. We hardly got any time to talk to eachother because our waiter was outrageously flirting with me. It made us both uncomfortable. Our dinner cost us $67! We hardly ate anything because it tasted so bad. We still talk about that date, it goes to prove that just because something is more expensive, it doesn't make it better.

My boyfriend was my first boyfriend and I was his first serious girlfriend (that last he had was when he was 12). I was 17 et we were both sooo shy. When I'm shy, I have this habit to say really random stuff and I always look so stupid. So when we were together for the first times, I would just say like : ''Did you know that there's different kind of bananas ?'' (I learned it that day and I was so impressed by that I just had to tell him... but it looks like everybody knows that except me) or ''Have you ever touched a cow ? '' And i would never stop talking even if it wasn't interesting. He told me that he tought I was cute (and special) ... So yeah, it was pretty awkward because we were both just so shy. We've never been on a real date before that so... But we've been together for almost 3 years now :) (I still say stupid things... but he do too ^^)

I went on a double that with my best friend a few years ago. We went to see a terrible movie at the cinema and later went to a cafe. It was so awkward that none of us talked. My friend ended up talking to her date via text even though he was sitting inches away from here. Despite the horrible day, I actually ended up going out with my date for a few months.

Me and my boyfriend work together and were uni together, we were friends first but our love of tea and walking made us less awkward around each other. There are differences he's Latvian/Russian and I'm Scottish and the cultures do clash sometime but he's medic and I'm do micro biology so talk for ages about science and things, we even just go to library to study a lot. He asked me out for tea after work and we talked for ages then he asked me to his girlfriend in Russian but I didn't know until fews weeks later what it meant, until a translated it on google then said yes :P. even these days hes goes off Russian saying romantic things I have no idea lol

I can totaly understand that sleepover thing. I'm greek and told my parents, that I'm going overnight babysitting to sleep at my boyfriend's house! So not every western country is that open minded in those things, especiallyin south europe.... And it took me nearly 4 years to tell them, that I'm going to sleep as his place and we're together for 9 years!!!!
For early relationship, I met the guy in a club. He approached me. He said something to me in Korean and I could not understand, because I had only started learning Korean and had only been in Korea for 3 weeks at this point. I told him "한국어 못해요." and he replied with "영어못해." Despite that, we continued to hang out and then I found out he can speak English. And several dates later, he told me that he is actually an English tutor for younger kids in some program.

omg this made me think of my first valentine's day date with my boyfriend. I was so excited because I never had that with my exes. we either broke up before vday or we were doing a long distance. anyway he brought me to a nice restaurant, candle light dinner, roses, champagne, the works - but when we were actually seated and started dinner it was SO awkward for me because I was terrified of not being classy enough for the crowd there. it was a posh place and that was my first time fine dining. You guys are funny. I hate amusement parks myself and am scared of rides also. When I first was dating my husband, we were at Disneyland and I kept riding the Matter Horn trying to "conquer my fear". I figured if I can rode it enough times round and round, that the fear would go away. I remember the worker there seeing that I kept getting in line...he said "boy, you must love this ride". Oh, no I didn't!

I am in the US, and when I make a conversation with international friends, I feel that Korean culture is totally different with other countries culture. for example, when I told my friends that I need my parents' permission when I decide to marry to someone, almost all foreign friends were really surprised. they told me they did not need any permission when they meet a girlfriend and marry to her.
My first date with my boyfriend was going to cinema and watch movie. I think he was so nervous and he dropped half of bucket of popcorn to me. >_< haha its so funny and embarassing when we thought of those moments

He had not told his parents that we were living together and I answered the phone.....when asked who I was I had to say "housemate"....I felt terrible that I could not say his girlfriend as his father sounded quite nice.

Y'all make such a cute couple! I have a question. Do people treat you differently in Korea being an interracial couple? My boyfriend is Korean and we both live in America. Sometimes we get stares and comments. It is funny though that when we go to a Korean grocery store and I will thank the checkout person in Korean or speak in Korean their heads whip around and the look of surprise on their face is hilarious. I was wondering if it was different in Korea or if the same thing happens there as it does here from time to time.
Haha yess, we do get a lot of looks when we are out together, and sometimes older people on the subway will straight up stare. Some of them actually come up and ask us questions because when they were growing up, they never saw couples like us, so they're super curious, hehe. In Korea if you see an international couple, it's almost always a Korean woman with a western man. It's still very rare for it to be the other way around, but once in a while we'll catch a glimpse of a couple like us ^^
Yeah that is what my boyfriend told me that it is rare to see a Korean man with a Western woman. It sounds like you receive a lot of positive feedback and that is awesome ^.^ What kind of questions do they ask you typically?
Your video reminded me of a Viking-ride that I had with my wife at Wolmi island in incheon. My wife thought Viking looked so easy and challengeable but she never want it now.
In Australia we don't so much date (well rich people might) we just do stuff, often in the beginning you hang out with mutual friends and might just have a few drinks or watch a movie at home or maybe go to the movies with friends. After that phase is over you just do things alone...me and my husband used to like going to Chinatown to get my weekly veggie shop and then get something nice for lunch. We never call any of this dating. We just hang out. I guess we're relaxed and unromantic. We don't like making too much of a fuss over anything :)

My awkward first date was when we finally had a chance to reunite after not seeing each other for almost 2 years and decided to have a one-day tour at his hometown. Things became so awkward since things had changed a lot since the last time we met, and we didn't know what to talk. Suddenly I also became so shy, kept bumping to people in front of me, and had my feet stumbled all the time. To hide my nervousness, I kept drinking my water bottle and since it was early autumn and quite chill, I ended up going to restroom for more than 4 times! Even once, I need to sneak into male restroom since there was no female restroom to be found! i was from city A, my bf from city B but he was studying in city C. i was in LDR. at that time her mom wanted to know me better so she asked me to stay in her house for couple of days. My bf couldnt come bk to his hometown to accompany me due to school matter n i couldnt say no for my bf moms request. So i met his family for the first time without him...it was sooo awkward...even his mom took me to meet other relatives, n it was like all his neighbourhood knew meeee as his gf since it was a small town...hhaaa...i felt like sooo shy n awkward that i didnt know how to act or to do..lol...

You shouldn't worry about what your parents say. It's not like you're committing a sin or doing anything morally wrong when you're being with a partner of a different culture. My parents would be totally fine with it. It's not about where the person is from but what their heart is like. And I wouldn't be willing to obey my parents if their justification for opposing the relationship was that they don't like it. Anyway, good luck and follow your heart and mind. ^^
The most embarrassing date I've had was when I took a girl to see the movie Good Luck Chuck for our first date. I thought it was just a harmless rom com and I did not pay attention to the R rating. So as we're sitting there watching sex scene after sex scene all I could think of was that she must think I was a total pervert for choosing this movie on our first date. Thankfully she thought it was funny, my embarrassment that is, not the movie which was just bad.

You guys are funny. I hate amusement parks myself and am scared of rides also. When I first was dating my husband, we were at Disneyland and I kept riding the Matter Horn trying to "conquer my fear". I figured if I can rode it enough times round and round, that the fear would go away. I remember the worker there seeing that I kept getting in line...he said "boy, you must love this ride". Oh, no I didn't!

I am in the US, and when I make a conversation with international friends, I feel that Korean culture is totally different with other countries culture.
for example, when I told my friends that I need my parents' permission when I decide to marry to someone, almost all foreign friends were really surprised. they told me they did not need any permission when they meet a girlfriend and marry to her.

OMG! I can totally relate. In our culture living together before marriage is also not socially acceptable. I remember I used to sleep over in my husband’s place (then boyfriend 😆) without telling my parents. I used to make excuses like sleeping over with friends for group study etc. . . My first date with my ex was pretty great, since we were in a long distance relationship over the internet we couldn't have a "proper" date. We watched a movie on Netflix while skyping, and ate kraft diner afterwards.
Thanks for sharing your awkward moments when first dating. I also had a similar experience when my husbands father called him one day. He had not told his parents that we were living together and I answered the phone.....when asked who I was I had to say "housemate"....I felt terrible that I could not say his girlfriend as his father sounded quite nice.

Y'all make such a cute couple! I have a question. Do people treat you differently in Korea being an interracial couple? My boyfriend is Korean and we both live in America. Sometimes we get stares and comments. It is funny though that when we go to a Korean grocery store and I will thank the checkout person in Korean or speak in Korean their heads whip around and the look of surprise on their face is hilarious. I was wondering if it was different in Korea or if the same thing happens there as it does here from time to time.
Haha yess, we do get a lot of looks when we are out together, and sometimes older people on the subway will straight up stare. Some of them actually come up and ask us questions because when they were growing up, they never saw couples like us, so they're super curious, hehe. In Korea if you see an international couple, it's almost always a Korean woman with a western man. It's still very rare for it to be the other way around, but once in a while we'll catch a glimpse of a couple like us ^^
Yeah that is what my boyfriend told me that it is rare to see a Korean man with a Western woman. It sounds like you receive a lot of positive feedback and that is awesome ^.^

In Australia we don't so much date (well rich people might) we just do stuff, often in the beginning you hang out with mutual friends and might just have a few drinks or watch a movie at home or maybe go to the movies with friends. After that phase is over you just do things alone...me and my husband used to like going to Chinatown to get my weekly veggie shop and then get something nice for lunch. We never call any of this dating. We just hang out. I guess we're relaxed and unromantic. We don't like making too much of a fuss over anything :)

My awkward first date was when we finally had a chance to reunite after not seeing each other for almost 2 years and decided to have a one-day tour at his hometown.
Things became so awkward since things had changed a lot since the last time we met, and we didn't know what to talk. Suddenly I also became so shy, kept bumping to people in front of me, and had my feet stumbled all the time.
To hide my nervousness, I kept drinking my water bottle and since it was early autumn and quite chill, I ended up going to restroom for more than 4 times! Even once, I need to sneak into male restroom since there was no female restroom to be found!
Also, I usually not the type to let a guy pay for me on dates, but suddenly I could not say anything and he kept paying all my expenses and I didn't offer to pay for anything back.
It was really an awkward date for me >

i was from city A, my bf from city B but he was studying in city C. i was in LDR. at that time her mom wanted to know me better so she asked me to stay in her house for couple of days. My bf couldnt come bk to his hometown to accompany me due to school matter n i couldnt say no for my bf moms request. So i met his family for the first time without him...it was sooo awkward...even his mom took me to meet other relatives, n it was like all his neighbourhood knew meeee as his gf since it was a small town...hhaaa...i felt like sooo shy n awkward that i didnt know how to act or to do..lol...

You shouldn't worry about what your parents say. It's not like you're committing a sin or doing anything morally wrong when you're being with a partner of a different culture. My parents would be totally fine with it. It's not about where the person is from but what their heart is like. And I wouldn't be willing to obey my parents if their justification for opposing the relationship was that they don't like it.

The most embarrassing date I've had was when I took a girl to see the movie Good Luck Chuck for our first date. I thought it was just a harmless rom com and I did not pay attention to the R rating. So as we're sitting there watching sex scene after sex scene all I could think of was that she must think I was a total pervert for choosing this movie on our first date. Thankfully she thought it was funny, my embarrassment that is, not the movie which was just bad.
