add a remote option then you can blow when not in the horn. you have to rerun some hoses but a valve handle adds more realistic train sound and allows you to change up the sound...
I'm amazed that the great state of California has allowed you to have this? They usually take away anything the tax payer likes. Great job looks really clean and professional
Amazing bracket my friend ❤ I buy this same train horn kit and I don’t have the tools 🧰 to make this bracket. Question 🙋♂️ do you have another bracket like this one that I can buy from you 🙏 I have a Chevrolet Silverado hd 2500 also. ❤
Dude you have my exact setup I want I have a 2016 Silverado 6.6 Duramax LTZ Z71 looks just like yours on the inside I have two USB’s 2 cigarette lighters (I don’t use either) than a 110v plug on the right what are those buttons called you have to put in those 12v lighters that turn green? And where do you get them?
On the interior fuse panel, running the 12v accessory wire. What did you use to tap into the fuse? I have the same Chevy and what to use the method of wiring power to the switch.
so im on my second set of horns because i mounted them facing forward like you did. i had water and dirt get into my horns and ruin them. have you had any problems with them?
I haven’t but I live in Cali where it never rains! Sucks ur horns crapped out! I thought about the rain and facing fwd. if I ever had to drive during the rain I would probably cover up my horns with some sort of water proof mesh.
@@willsprojects2601 Yeah i learned my lesson. ive got the same kit just without the +2 horns. Nice setup though. i custom made my kit with a viair onboard 200psi air system because i work out of my truck a lot. No doubt, the kit looks a lot more pleasing to the eyes though!
Thats a crazy setup bro 1/50 chance but are u from around Chicago? Id love to hear that shit, i have an odyssey van with a viair 200 system on the big grand general triple trumpets but i bet that 6 horn shit is scarryy loud
I haven’t had any issues with them facing forward. It doesn’t rain much in San Diego so I don’t really worry about the water. When it does rain I’ll just use my car.
What is the purpose of the relay thag is connected to the power switch and pressure switch? Could you not just run the power from the switch directly to the pressure switch?
I did my setup a little complex. U can run a switch straight to the pressure switch and that will sound the horns. I wanted the option to switch from the stock horn and the train horn. That’s why I put a relay
Those wires with fues go from ur battery to ur compressors. Anything electrical u have to fues. I did mine alittle different. I had 8gauge wire from the battery and then to a fuse about 6inchs away. Then kept on going to the rear where I ran a splitter and after that I put those fuses in and they ran to the relays
@@willsprojects2601so the relay is what bypasses power being sent to the OEM horn when your second button is on and that power is then sent to the valve?? Am I understanding that correctly?
@@willsprojects2601 so you interrupted the Positive Wire to the OEM horns (from steering wheel) and ran the steering wheel wire to 30 and the Positive Wire from the OEM horns to 87A, 85 is your Ground, 86 was your Aux Switch to activate the Relay (so your steering can blast the train horns), and 87 routes back to the train horn solenoid? If so... what was your aux switch wiring set up? does the aux wire need to be energized? sorry i'm learning relays.
Are you certain that the horn button on the steering wheel is shorting 2 hot legs.... I think your drawing may be incorrect. Its more likely to be completing a ground circuit. Please confirm.
Why can’t I get my horn to work normal? It only works when I turn on my switch… is there anyway I can talk to you directly? I can pay you for your time.
@@willsprojects2601i got the 844 conductor special nightmare edition… but for some reason I can’t get the horn to work normal… it only works when I press the switch even if I swap the cables. Now I haven’t finished installing the whole kit missing the horns & solenoid
@@willsprojects2601 thank you for replying, I got the 844 conductor special nightmare And I did the 5 pin relay but for some reason my oem horn only works when I press the switch… now I haven’t finished installing the whole kit, still missing to install the horns and solenoid but thought my oem horn should still work now and it doesn’t, I gotta press the switch then it will work. Even swapping cables it doesn’t work.
The way I did mine is with 2 switch’s . One switch is to send power to the air compressors and the other one switch’s from oem horn to the train horns. If my switch for the horns is pushed in then my train horns would sound. If your pushing in your switch and your oem horn sounds then you probably have the relays wired incorrectly.
Also when you cut your oem horns, the wire that is on the horns has to go to the relay. The oem trigger wire(the other side of the wire you just cut) has to go to the relay as well. Look up 5 pin relays and see how they work. It can be tricky
Will did you use the same solenoid that was on your Trk for your horn or did you have to buy another solenoid? I’m looking to install a train horn & id like to continue to use my Trk horn & or Train horns with a flip of a switch.
If you look at the video I have a blue print on how I ran my wiring. I use my stock horn and when I flip a switch it switches to the train horns. I used the same solenoid that the horns came with. To switch from stock to train I used a relay. Let me know if you got anymore questions.
Using the cig plug as switches is brilliant. thank you
Yeah I don’t ever use them. Plus there’s a third one on the center console if I ever needed one
How did you remove the cigar lighter part and retain the factory cover?
Once you look back there it’s just clips that hold the cover on. The switch is low profile which fits perfect.
Super clean setup and awesome install man well done! I really like the button setup!
Thanks brother

That looks really good but your quick flyby on the powder coating needs more detail
What u need to know
@@willsprojects2601 A step by step how to powder coating. I have a set of Nathan train horns I'd like to powder coat.

Yeah I’m surprised too. If I ever get pulled over I can switch to my oem horn and tell them I use it for air lol
Hope you have a one year review of this setup
I can make one but it wouldn’t show much since I have no issues
Thanks, nice job.
Nice Duramax as well!

Right at the horns.

I tapped into the oem horn wires
On the interior fuse panel, running the 12v accessory wire. What did you use to tap into the fuse? I have the same Chevy and what to use the method of wiring power to the switch.
I used a volt meter on open plug to see which pin had 12v when the truck is in run. I am not sure which one it is
