Exactly. According to these morons, you can say whatever you want as long as your back is to the umpire and you're walking back to the dugout. I wonder if they even hear themselves.
4:13 "I'm not sure how the home plate umpire has this call." Because it was an obvious balk. If you don't step ahead of your throw and gain ground toward the base it's a balk. It was plain as day from home plate.
The players and coaches eject themselves about 99.9% of the time. They know exactly what they can and can't say. They know exactly what they can and can't argue. Being a baseball umpire at ANY level is a difficult job. The plate umpire might see 300 pitches or more in a nine inning game. Those stupid strike zone boxes ARE. NOT. THE. ACTUAL. STRIKE. ZONE. They should get rid of them. A pitch can move two or more feet in the last 10 feet before the catcher catches it. The strike zone is a 3-dimensional box. Those television boxes are 2-dimensional. Those television boxes show you where, in relation to the box, where the catcher catches it, not where it goes through the actual strike zone. Also, that television box doesn't change size for each batter. It's the same whether the batter is 5'8" or 6'5".
Totally agree. Also, they seem shocked that someone gets tossed for arguing ball-strikes, without a warning first...That's because you can't argue ball-strikes!...Period.
Well, I'm not taking up for the , mostly ex major league baseball announcers, but if you're not showing up the ump, which no one PAID to come see, I tend to agree with the EX PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS.
That point is irrelevant and I'm tired of hearing it. The ump's job is to eject a player if he violates any of a long list of rules. The fact that people paid to see a player has no bearing on an ump's decision, because the rulebook gives it no bearing. If the people are upset they don't get to see the player they paid for, they should be mad at the player for breaking that rule in the first place. If an ump ignores an ejectable offense because people like that player, he is in fact ignoring the job he was hired to do. The 'I want to see X so I deserve to see X' mentality is childish
@@blacktimhoward4322 see you serious? Rules are broken, stretched , and misinterpreted in almost every day of a LONG BASEBALL season. They have discretion on every,on most every decision they make. It's their egos, which they should have "ZERO", that make them, more often than not, toss someone.. I agree wholeheartedly if a player is showing up the ump, you gone, absolutely no problem with that , bad for the young and future players. But if he gets thrown out with back turned walking away and doesn't make any bold movements that is strictly umpire ego.
3:10 If what the completely idiotic Nats announcer got what Juanny Soto said right then that was more than enough for an ejection. You NEVER mention a previous play from a different inning. The only way to get tossed faster is to punch the umpire
I know this is an old comment but the Nats broadcaster's are just bad. The younger sounding guy who does all the talking during these ejections is a former player (on some level) it sounds like but apparently has forgotten every rule he ever learned whilst playing the game . He comes off as just moronic in some of these ejections.
There are 16 ways, including loading up a ball, that a pitcher can balk. Some are obvious. But the stepping toward first base balk is totally a matter of opinion and that is why, I believe, that you can't question a balk call. The NY gurus want nothing to do with it.

“That went from defcon 1 to defcon 5 quickly” I think you got that backwards dude
Still waiting for the 2024 ejections. Chop chop
Would love this video without the 15 ad breaks. Like 5 at the most man
I never understood why they protest calls? It's not like you can take it away after it happens.
I started laughing when Boone pretended to be the catcher. 🤣
Mgr.s should be able to vote for or against the Umpires at the end of the season .
0:37 ump didn’t know what he was doing, when he ejected him he said nothing and fixed his pants when Cora was yelling at him
Take a shot every time an announcer says "gonna get his money's worth"
I tried...I passed out and fell to the floor. 🤕
Seethe ground is the limit ig tho does fobg
If you have done throughout this series, get yourself to rehab
my liver might fail me if i do that..
They really get their money's worth out of that expression
11:09-11:18 = That is my biggest problem with baseball announcers. He had his back towards the umpire, but has his head around, right towards the ump, and yelling at him. Give me a break with trying to make him seem like he was thrown out for no reason.
I completely agree with your comment I’m so sick of announcers using the his back was turned excuse
Exactly. According to these morons, you can say whatever you want as long as your back is to the umpire and you're walking back to the dugout. I wonder if they even hear themselves.
How come we can see what actually happened but the announcer can't. Maybe they should start looking for a new announcer?
TH-cam Lover the irony is you are pretty much describing what you and every other authority hating crybaby does.
I watch these videos and the announcers drive me crazy. Then the player puts his hands up like why did you throw me out.
Fucking love Joe Maddon. As a cubs fan, we never should have fired him
4:13 "I'm not sure how the home plate umpire has this call." Because it was an obvious balk. If you don't step ahead of your throw and gain ground toward the base it's a balk. It was plain as day from home plate.
He CLEARLY stepped that way
@@moptop81 I hope you don't officiate ball...
Stepping that way and gaining ground towards the base is different.
If they have electronic strikes there would be 100% more strikeouts , it would just have to touch the box
It never ceases to amaze me how many broadcasters think walking toward the dugout somehow renders you immune to ejection.
Totally agree. Also, they seem shocked that someone gets tossed for arguing ball-strikes, without a warning first...That's because you can't argue ball-strikes!...Period.
It literally lowered my blood pressure to read this comment. Thank you random person for understanding this
Well, I'm not taking up for the , mostly ex major league baseball announcers, but if you're not showing up the ump, which no one PAID to come see, I tend to agree with the EX PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS.
I'm starting to think that the umps are doing a little payola action 😜💰💰
Can we all admire that bullpen catcher's catch at 6:23
Didnt notice it before, that was a great catch lol
Love these ejection videos, but is Tim McCarver's voice annoying or what?
I sure would love to hear what they're saying to one another is there screaming at the top of their lungs.
This sport is insane…, as an English man we invented sport so a couple questions
And that wasnt just any umpire. It was Greg Gibson the Home Plate Legend
“He was thrown out before the ball got out.” lol
I love tom halleon. firey little bugger.
There are 16 ways, including loading up a ball, that a pitcher can balk.
Some are obvious. But the stepping toward first base balk is totally a matter of opinion and that is why, I believe, that you can't question a balk call. The NY gurus want nothing to do with it.
They ain't gurus kid,far from it
16:03 The most uneventful manager ejection I’ve ever seen
That killed me 😂😂
When you're bitter that you could never make it past high school baseball, you ump, and take it out on whoever you want to. All depends on who pays you more to throw at-bats.
10:55 He WAS walking away...but he was jacking his jaw quite loudly while he did it...don't act like he didn't have that hook coming. Homer announcers.
Yeah I've seen some bad ejections but that umpire took more than a lot take.
I miss baseball. I do not miss umpire arrogance and ineptitude. When baseball comes back...robot umps. The best social distancing solution for America.
Note: as I watched this video...the umpires started to look the same. Hmmm...time for some early retirements.
Joe west Been Blowing calls since 1978
Good god the real travesty here is the 4000 ads playing every few minutes
if girardi was still manager for the yankees he would be in half of them
I'm very happy Girardi isn't the manager of the Yankees anymore. He was pathetic.
I was at the sox game when cora got ejected in the first inning. the umpire shouldve never gave warnings
15:42 OH REALLY? OH REALLY? LOL
that ump has bad teeth imo
That’s the guber ump again. Like guber on Andy Griffith show
4:23 “I don’t know how the home plate umpire has this call.” Wow just wow any umpire that sees a balk can call it. Do these people have any idea about the rules of baseball?
true
He didnt clearly step towards 2nd
His foot was kinda pointing to third
wow Cora ejected after 1 pitch against the Yankees at Fenway
I do not blame Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora for going off on home plate umpire (#78/Adam Hamari).
Markcus Hines it’s called brushing someone off, they shouldn’t even had put warnings
@@benguitar5123 They gave warning because earlier in the top of that inning Gardner got plugged at leadoff. Severino was sending a message without hurting anyone.
Cora deserved too
Boy Adam Hamari has quite the lengthy ejection resume for such a young umpire. Kid's in over his head.
Boston Red Sox manager Álex Cora went off on homeplate umpire (#78/ Adam Hamari) and got himself ejected from the game for arguing balls and strikes by the homeplate umpire Adam Hamari (#78).
I love when you read the players lips "What did I do" lol You can not argue balls and strikes periods, its an automatic ejection. It don't matter that your walking away you can't say anything about balls and strikes.
All depends on the relationship between the ump and the player and to what extent and in what tone it happens.
Stupid rule, gotta get the umps in shape kid
Umps are way too sensitive and throw people out for nothing. I thought NHL refs were bad.
I'm not american so perhaps you can help.....the balls and strikes argument rule did they implement that to make the umps not look stupid?
@@dingodelta I dont think so its to speed the game. They look stupid half the time no matter what. A lot if things are non arguable especially anything thats a judgement call been that way for years.
does any mlb game end with two full teams on the field?
Words are still heard when you turn your back. That’s such a dumb thing to say, “he was walking away”.
Pretty much. Lol
Words can’t always be heard, however if a player makes a move then it can get someone ejected.
Every piece of your bat, including the knob is your bat. If it hits your knob and not your hand, goes fair back to the pitcher and he trots it to first? That's an out,DUH!
I wish there were punishments for umpires for making awful, and unfair calls.
hey jose why dont you put that beer you drinking down and get off the couch and give it a try umpiring

@@WHITEBOY1283 I don't have to be an umpire to know when they screw up. Your argument is pathetic. Try again.
@@NobleRenegade7its not an argument its an observation.. why dont you look at the overall picture. there is a human factor involved here and they dont get the luxury of seeing it in slow motion but they never get credit for doing a great job. dont see you clowns jumping on these overpaid players cant make a routine play or even throw a strike
I am a yankee fan. I remember the first clip of that game
i hope your channel makes a million bucks off these ads... geez
Lol 😂
Very surprised to see Greg Gibson, the homeplate umpire, NOT motioning to BOTH players
Absolutely love the reactions
2:07 "He's been thrown out before the ball got out." Lol
Has there been a case ever where an umpire reverses his decision after a dispute, it shows weakness don't think it has ever happened before replays were allowed.
I find it comical when they throw coaches out. They'd just go hide out in the hall or clubhouse.
Some even grow a magic mustache and find their sunglasses...
