One of the worst things about ADHD is that no one understands that there's more to it than just focus issues, there's emotional issues, the inability to take criticism without feeling as if your hated, sensory and sensitivity issues, there's alot more to it, but you can't even express how your feeling cuz you can't get out what you want to say, and even then no one's gonna listen anyways cuz they just think your some spazoid who can't keep still for more than a second
Everything is true, then you get someone “can you like Not tap your foot or tap your finger, I’M SORRY DOES IT BOTHER YOU” while your anxiety spikes your tapping gets more rapid and your mind starts thinking stuff you don’t want to think of and your breathing quickens to the point of just a panic attack but not visible to everyone. Don’t get me started on emotional stuff as well social settings like it’s painful for everyone going through this
Sure it's not as lyrical as a lot of his other stuff but I don't find it lame at all. Think he articulates himself perfectly... sometimes less is more. He's definitely showing his versatility and ability to try new things as an artist, which I'm always down with...and my man always flows on the beat, you gotta give him that.
I like his old style of rapping like when he did stuff like ISIS and zeze freestyle and litty freestyle and stuff like that. I fw joyner and I listen to all his music but this one is a little trash in my opinion. I wouldn't listen to this one. And suge remix it was cool but joyner shoulda rapped more. Tory kinda messed it up. Overall joyner is one of the best artists to me.

Doesn't sound like its out of his comfort zone, sounds different but his voice fits into the style 100%. This is just another side of Joyner he hasn't let us see. This is probably my favourite song out of all the releases for this album thus far.
I have been dealing with ADHD my whole life, being turned away by teachers and constantly yelled at for not paying attention. And I started taking pills in 6th grade, it changed me as a person, i lost a lot of emotion and i wasn't the same kid. Around May of this year i dedicated myself to get me off the pills, I am now free of those pills and grown. I feel more in control of my actions, I still catch myself in mood swings or super hyper and when this album was first announced and i saw Joyner's caption in the picture, I took it to heart. No one really understands till they're in the same boat.

I was diagnosed when i was 7 and couldn’t take medication bc of a heart problem school was really hard for me i made lots of friends but never focused on one person i could do really good one year and the next year barely pass but this made me have depression it comes and goes but im strong ☺️ i graduated from high school this year barely but i did it 🤣

This song is so relatable to my issues and diagnosis of adhd, I can't focus on simple short term tasks, I feel a greater purpose calling but constantly distracted by temporary necessities. Everyone pressuring and assuring you have to fall in routine causes me to struggle with motivation even more, and I release my emotions to an extreme degree, unable to relay how and why I feel so intense and so naturally my expression leads me to art in some form or another, but with such a flood of ideas that I can't hardly decide on just one idea so I try to embrace all of them. This song is for sure one of my favs!

Got me through my dads death and my dogs death, got me through my depression when even a therapist couldn’t do it he did it with just his lyrics,got me through school days when I was stressed and shit, this dude honestly like a second father to me, cause I go to his music for everything. i don't have adhd, but i've struggled with a stuttering problem my entire life, people cutting me off, not understanding what i do on the daily. Not understanding my problem in the first place and making fun of me. This lyric really spoke to me. Don't cut me off like I don't have a voice I think I was born different, I ain't really have a choice, yeah edit: i also hate the stereotype that people who stutter are stupid, i'm easily one of the smarter kids...
I have ADHD and i get tormented for my emotions, i have trouble controlling them and i get called a crybaby, and when i explain it im making an "excuse". And i cant express my emotions, when i do, i am misunderstood, which makes me bottle up my emotions which doesnt help me mentally. I have more than just trouble controlling my emotions, Overthinking, anger issues, impulsiveness, the list goes on. I've turned to video games and music to self medicate in a way. My ADHD has never been this bad since i turned 15. I have gained more symptoms it seems like, I've heard you can grow out of it but apparently thats not the case for me. Its not fun. Does medication help? I have been considering getting treatment. It feels like it's getting out of my control. I recently lost my mom and things have gotten worse with my uncontrollable emotions.
@@carolyncombee3908 i was diagnosed when i was 7 but never took medication. After my dad died I started taking it. It really helped me cool down and sort through my emotions. I was able to properly grieve. I no longer had days where I would start crying without understanding why I was crying. Im now able to process whats going around me alot easier. I would recommend taking medication if you feel comfortable with it but understand that its a new experience and its going to take some time getting used to. Hoped that helped 🤠

Joyner, holy moly. You’re my favorite artist ever. I’ve suffered from ADHD my whole life.. literally I can talk about one topic to another topic in 2 minutes. Some people don’t understand me, so when he said “overthinking, maybe it’s void.” I catch myself overthinking literally everything all the time, or when he said “too many things going on in my head, how come I can’t go sleep in my bed?” Adhd keeps you up at night, all the rambling thoughts going left and right. So happy to see someone make a song about this, been struggling since I was a young girl.. but I can tell you, I wouldn’t change me for anything. I’m proud to have ADHD, plenty of intelligent people had this same exact on going issue. Scientifically people with ADHD we’re better hunters and gatherers hundreds of years ago because of their ongoing hyper focus and restlessness. Reading this I can relate sooo much. You literally described my life. People have been saying to me that I always change from one topic to another topic very fast when they are talking with me and it’s something they find unusual. I have been said that I always interrupt people and don’t listen. About the thoughts , I hated going to bed when I was a child because the boredom before sleeping is insufferable. And now as an adult , you can’t sleep because there’s literally like a rambling radio going on in your head and there’s always like things going on and on inside it. Like how some people say, there’s like a party going on in your brain. Been called a daydreamer , overthinker so many times i am SICK of it. I feel like I get kidnapped by my own thoughts. But , looking at comments like this it made me feel better.
Yusuf Zulfi I’m glad I could help in anyway. My advice to you: embrace it, there’s so much positive things that come from ADHD that it far outweighs the cons. Medicine works for some but not for all. I’m personally vocal about my ADHD towards people so they can get why My energy levels are so high, and if people can’t understand you for that, you don’t need them in your life. Use that energy that you have and thought process to actually learn and grow instead of consume. As someone with ADHD, who has been guilt-tripped by a lot of people, including my parents and family for acting different from others while growing up (mental health issues is a taboo in my country), your songs inspire me.

Sure it's not as lyrical as a lot of his other stuff but I don't find it lame at all. Think he articulates himself perfectly... sometimes less is more. He's definitely showing his versatility and ability to try new things as an artist, which I'm always down with...and my man always flows on the beat, you gotta give him that.

I have been dealing with ADHD my whole life, being turned away by teachers and constantly yelled at for not paying attention. And I started taking pills in 6th grade, it changed me as a person, i lost a lot of emotion and i wasn't the same kid. Around May of this year i dedicated myself to get me off the pills, I am now free of those pills and grown. I feel more in control of my actions, I still catch myself in mood swings or super hyper and when this album was first announced and i saw Joyner's caption in the picture, I took it to heart. No one really understands till they're in the same boat.

I have ADHD and i get tormented for my emotions, i have trouble controlling them and i get called a crybaby, and when i explain it im making an "excuse". And i cant express my emotions, when i do, i am misunderstood, which makes me bottle up my emotions which doesnt help me mentally. I have more than just trouble controlling my emotions, Overthinking, anger issues, impulsiveness, the list goes on. I've turned to video games and music to self medicate in a way. My ADHD has never been this bad since i turned 15. I have gained more symptoms it seems like, I've heard you can grow out of it but apparently thats not the case for me. Its not fun. It feels relieving to know that an artist has the same struggle.

Does medication help? I have been considering getting treatment. It feels like it's getting out of my control. I recently lost my mom and things have gotten worse with my uncontrollable emotions.
@@carolyncombee3908 i was diagnosed when i was 7 but never took medication. After my dad died I started taking it. It really helped me cool down and sort through my emotions. I was able to properly grieve. I no longer had days where I would start crying without understanding why I was crying. Im now able to process whats going around me alot easier. I would recommend taking medication if you feel comfortable with it but understand that its a new experience and its going to take some time getting used to. Hoped that helped 🤠

ADHD is real but the medication isn't and it really saddens me that it isn't taken seriously. always told that ADHD is just an excuse. no matter what i do i just always seem different

Joyner, holy moly. You’re my favorite artist ever. I’ve suffered from ADHD my whole life.. literally I can talk about one topic to another topic in 2 minutes. Some people don’t understand me, so when he said “overthinking, maybe it’s void.” I catch myself overthinking literally everything all the time, or when he said “too many things going on in my head, how come I can’t go sleep in my bed?” Adhd keeps you up at night, all the rambling thoughts going left and right. So happy to see someone make a song about this, been struggling since I was a young girl.. but I can tell you, I wouldn’t change me for anything. I’m proud to have ADHD, plenty of intelligent people had this same exact on going issue. Scientifically people with ADHD we’re better hunters and gatherers hundreds of years ago because of their ongoing hyper focus and restlessness. Unfortunately the world has changed and people with ADHD are shunned and can’t be recognized for their potential and their talents that they can offer.. anyways, thank you Joyner Lucas for once again speaking to my heart with your music. Reading this I can relate sooo much. You literally described my life.
People have been saying to me that I always change from one topic to another topic very fast when they are talking with me and it’s something they find unusual. I have been said that I always interrupt people and don’t listen.
About the thoughts , I hated going to bed when I was a child because the boredom before sleeping is insufferable. And now as an adult , you can’t sleep because there’s literally like a rambling radio going on in your head and there’s always like things going on and on inside it. Like how some people say, there’s like a party going on in your brain. Been called a daydreamer , overthinker so many times i am SICK of it. I feel like I get kidnapped by my own thoughts.
But , looking at comments like this it made me feel better.
Yusuf Zulfi I’m glad I could help in anyway. My advice to you: embrace it, there’s so much positive things that come from ADHD that it far outweighs the cons. Medicine works for some but not for all. I’m personally vocal about my ADHD towards people so they can get why My energy levels are so high, and if people can’t understand you for that, you don’t need them in your life.
Use that energy that you have and thought process to actually learn and grow instead of consume. Like I said, Joyner Lucas found his passion and what interest him, now he has hyper focus towards his passion, you can do the same with whatever interests you.
