That's really cool, Yvette. This was the first army surplus store I'd ever gone to. I love all the historical items they have for sale. Thanks so much for watching!
For some unknown reason ~ this video showed up as a suggestion? But I’m so glad it did😂 I enjoyed this!!! My wife would have never been as patient & attentive lol. I’ve read the comments regarding prices... perhaps because it’s CA everything is priced higher? None the less, I enjoyed this completely.
Yes, CA is expensive, especially gasoline. Crazy! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. This store is like a candy store for my husband! Thanks for watching!
One of the other commenters said they don't have stores like this in England either. I wonder why? These stores seem to be in demand. My husband is like a kid in a candy shop when he goes there! Thanks for watching, Gary!
Just from reading your description, camping is not that big of a deal to prepare for, and lots of fun. There are lots of cheap or free places near most people to camp, such as national forests. You should go once or twice a month! It's fun! But, my only bad experiences with every trip, and this is silly but it bothers me, my hands get sticky and dirty pretty easy camping and unless you have a lot of water this sort of thing is a real pain. I notice fresh coffee smells better out of doors, and cooking over a campfire is uniquely enjoyable.
Fresh coffee sure does smell better outdoors! My husband enjoys cooking over a campfire. He finally did get to go on an overnight campout, but the spot had pesky skunks that weren't afraid of people! I get what you mean about getting sticky and dirty. That's what drove me nuts when our kids were little. Baby wipes is an easy solution, but they can get expensive if we use too many. Thanks for watching and for your input, Adam.
Thanks for you input, Bill Vorhees. I appreciate that. I found the WWII mementos very interesting. Felt like I was in a museum. Thank you for watching!
You're so funny, Lynn! Five pounds would feel heavy to me, too. LOL! Looks like George is ready to go on a camping trip. The one and only time I went camping was to the Grand Canyon with Joey and the kids. Joey forgot to clear the ground and I couldn't sleep all night, because there was a rock pressing against my spine. A couple of days later, we ended up in a hotel room, and I was so happy. LOL! Will George do the cooking? Big store! Thanks for sharing! :-) :-)
Camping trips are on his bucket list. He can't wait to go on a trip, even if it's for one or two nights. I didn't grow up in a family that liked to camp, so I never cared for it much, but George and the kids loved it. It's funny that our son hates to camp. Guess he takes after me! A camping trip at the Grand Canyon sounds fun, though. But not sleeping on a rock. Been there, done that! And in Yosemite years ago when Suzee was a baby, it was so cold at night, my hands were numb and freezing. George bought me some wool gloves, but it was still cold. Then it rained. I wasn't a happy camper. Suzee cried and cried. I'm sure she kept all the other campers awake. After the third day of rain, we went to the lodge (not the fancy hotel) to see if we could check in early and they did have a vacancy, so we left the tent and half our stuff and checked into the lodge a few days early. We had planned to camp for a week and stay in the lodge for a week. That second week there was a heat wave, but no AC in the rooms. Doesn't usually get that hot. We paid a lot of money to be miserable! Haha!
Yes, there are Army Surplus items, a whole room full that I wasn't able to cover because hubby started feeling sick, so we had to go home. It's almost like a museum, so many neat things. Definitely need to go back there soon!
@@LynnKelleyAuthor yeah, I think I went to that store back in the 80s if it's the same place. Been away from Cali since 89. I used to love the Great Western gun show in Pomona until the county banned the shows. I loved the L.A. county fair out there as a kid.
@@wolfsmith2865 We've only been in this area for 5 years. I bet it is the same store, though. Too bad they banned the gun show in Pomona. My hubby would like to go to that if they still had it. The L.A. county fair is very cool! Thanks for sharing your memories, Wolf Smith!
Someone else mentioned that, too, but I guess it's the convenience of buying it on the spot, with a large selection of merchandise. I don't know, but they seem to do a good business, so they're doing something right. Thanks for your feedback, Michael.
You got me! This is the first time I'd been there. Yes, they have a good mix of lots of merchandise. Whatever you want to call it, my husband loves shopping there!

Pre-Seasoned Cookware is the best
Thanks, Gay-Camo Dave.
Old medical chest,$29.99 done. We used a newer version nowadays.
Thanks for watching, Sophie!
I recognize that shop. M&I Surplus in Pomona is overpriced. If you do your research, you can find better quality gear for better prices.
Thanks for you input, Bill Vorhees. I appreciate that. I found the WWII mementos very interesting. Felt like I was in a museum. Thank you for watching!
Love M&I surplus screw ordering online quit being lazy and get your ass up and go check it out in person

Where abouts is this Army Navy Store and what's the name of this place, would be interested in making a visit if its near by.
This is M&I Surplus in Pomona, California. An amazing store! I hope it's near you. Thanks for watching, Mark.
@@LynnKelleyAuthor damn I live on Ohio. Bit to far to walk or drive. May be one day when I get to Cali
Aw, darn. Sorry about that, Mark.
I see they did have a few items that actually were Army Surplus. I'm guessing most of the products were Chinese made, Walmart type items. LOL

It's in Pomona, California.

Not so much militARY surplus anymore
That's a shame since so many men love these stores. Not just men, though. I enjoy shopping there, too. They even have cool purses for women! :)
More like a Walmart Army Surplus, right.
is this the one in Pomona CA?
Yes, Frank, this is the one in Pomona. :)
What store is this? Can we purchase from them online?
Hi crk8644. This is M&I Surplus in Pomona, California. No, they don't sell online. :(
LynnKelleyAuthor well shoot, looks like an awesome store
It sure is an awesome store. I called to see if they sell online, but unfortunately they don't. Sorry about that.
LynnKelleyAuthor thank you so much for checking
You're welcome, Crystal.
Uzbek Kazan ???
all of the packs you are mentioning you can get online way cheaper! that store is way over priced for a military surp store!!!

Okay, I will tell him. Thanks for watching, Frank V. Crawford!
How is this an army surplus store, it is a mixed camp goods store!
