Hi guys,u got to check Morissette’s concert in her hometown in Cebu where she sang “And I’m telling you”live as usual,you’ll definitely love her more coz you’ll see her bubbly character and at the same time her phenomenal performance of it.

It was her performance in this 2017 Asia Song Festival in South Korea where she earned her title "Asia's Phoenix" 🥰🔥
Now that you've watched it, you know now and understand and agree that she deserves it. To think that she was doing it, singing these difficult songs infront of a huge audience that doesn't even know her. We can presume that most of them were Koreans and were there for their Korean idols, singers and celebrities. But Mori was fearless to execute this performance, on her own in a big stage with no backup singers or dancers to support her! What courage and amazing talent she has! Yes, she is like the person you are talking about, she has no formal training, she is basically self-taught, she has good ears and can imitate what she hears, that's one of the reasons why she had become a cover killer, she could imitate the songs very well and by adding her own touches to them, makes them her own. She was already singing in their karaoke machine at the age of 3! Now that's God-given talent, inborn skills, and she was born to sing. 🥰🎼
How does she do her squeaks and whistles? And how is she able to do her squeaks at any place in the song she wants to? And how is she able to do melodies, riffs and runs in her whistle register? We don't really know, we can only say that"s talent, a once in a generation talent, that's the envy of other singers and that they can only dream of having.🥰
I think you're right about talent alone does not make a person popular and well-known, but also the backing, the money, the machinery. Some of the more popular recording artists nowadays could not match up with Mori's talent and vocal ability, but they have the backing of mullti-million dollars companies and labels. I guess this is her and her team's choice not to sign up with these companies and would rather do their own music independently. At least we are fortunate to have found her, one of the best vocalists in the planet in our generation.🥰

I agree. She done so much for her career. I think sometimes it’s frustrating that she’s not getting the recognition that she deserved. I hope she’ll get her spot soon. Sigh. I’m thinking about Van Gogh, Selena Quintanilla, and other artists that were recognized only when they are not around anymore.

Some artist needs orchestra back up etc but with this she's alone swallowing the stage with her voice.
Someone did get in touch with her. It’s Mariah Carey’s previous producer. He happened to watch one of her concert in the Philippines. They tried to make it work and actually made a demo which was not released. This is before she started getting into writting and producing her own songs. I think pandemic was of the reasons.
The organizers of the festival were very impressed by her performance that she was invited to perform the following, a feat not given by anyone except her. so you need, guys to checkout her 2018 Asia Song Festival back in Korea🔥🔥🔥

Just so it is written down where you may see it. Morissette is the first artist to be invited back to sing a second time. Not only that but in consecutive years. No one has been invited back in any year after they've sung once. She made her 2018 appearance as special as this years by singing a song in three languages.
Morissette gives you everything she has at whatever moment she is singing. She has no back-down or throttle-back. She is compelled, even in the face of opposite logic, to give it all. That's why I call her of a very few 'Natural Born Singers'. They are a class of singer all to themselves. They are the ones that will sing for you with the least provocation. It doesn't matter if there are 10 people or 10,000 people. It is all getting left there. On top of that she is about as humble as you are going to find anywhere. She is also a devout Christian and has her limits as to her willingness show parts of her body.
You hit the nail on the head. She’s NOT a sellout. She was under negotiations with Ben Lawrence who was Mariah Carey’s producer. They couldn’t come into agreement so she passed. I’m assuming she’s all about the music and didn’t want to give into being controlled with what she sings and her look because she is a born again Christian.
I think it was ultimately a good move in her part, she has the freedom to write and produce.
Lastly, I’m throwing this out there. If I win the lottery, I would immediately get in touch with her team, finance the whole thing to have her come to the U.S. and give her that freedom to write and produce an all Filipino ( written, produced and musicians involved) album. Just to blow the socks off the U.S. market. I truly think she has the ability to do it.

However it's the only way for her to show the World what music is all about, she can be an inspiration to more people by letting her showcase her talent in the most Marketable industry. I mean regardless of her decision I respect her for that but She should've made a few years of sacrifice before settling it down in a small portion of the world. I really feel a great regret because when she get's older her Prime will slowly fade away. Like Mariah Carey.

When you started talking about her training, it reminded me of her audition on "The Voice, Philippines" and she was...not good. She was fortunate that one judge turned for her. Obviously, since she came in 2nd, she had some great coaching there, like you alluded to on all of these competition shows. Now, I can't stop comparing anyone new to her, and no one measures up. They all fail in comparison.

She didn't even come in 2nd place on The Voice Philippines 🇵🇭 She ranked way below it. But anyways, just like what she said during her performance of "Listen" in the Solitaire, despite doors are closing, she still finds her own way to success with her loved ones and fans supporting her🥰

I often think it would be great if Mori would sign with a big label, but I think you are right that they would insist she dress and behave in ways that Mori is not willing to do. I wouldn't be surprised if they might try to block her from doing worship music or doing the live stream performances she loves to do for her fans. I certainly hope and pray that Mori get the recognition she deserves as this generation's best talent, but I respect her so much for sticking to her strong Christian values and doing things her way. I believe Mori started to show her love for singing when she was just 3 years old. Her father, who was on a rock band, became his first coach.
I have seen old videos of Mori competing in amateur singing contests or just event performances when she was pre-teen to teenager.. she was already amazing. It's on her father's YT channel: Amay Amon.

Morissette stated in an interview that she would like to keep the Philippines as her home base. Perhaps she is happy with the life she leads. Perhaps being the Queen of a castle and an Indie artist is enough. I think you both know that if she came to America/UK she would have to relocate here and sign with a major label and a new team to get in the game. . She and her husband are devout Christians....and come from a country she is extremely proud of....time will tell for this generational artist!

It's no coincidence that the 2 greatest FEMALE ARTISTS of our time MORISSETTE and SOHYANG who are both devout Christian Ladies and won't sell their souls to the devil, both have had lucrative offers and turned them down because they want to be in charge of their own destiny no matter how long it takes 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

Morissette is also a fan of Seventeen that's why she was very glad that Seventeen recognised her talent. Anyways, this is not the exact event where it happened. Most of the singers in the Philippines don’t have formal training, they were just trained by going to singing contest ., after they’re discovered that’s the time some simple training takes place.,
Guys in the 80's I was touring and playing at different venues and we started noticing a couple of Phillipino bands turning up on our circuit, so I went to hear them play and I remember saying to my fellow musicians '' hey guys we better get off our asses ,cut down the weed intake, focus and start really playing like professional artists because these phillipinos are crisp, tight, clear and so good that they could take over the scene ''. They had sooo much class in their performances.

It was just her on stage with a microphone and a backing track. No back up singers no dancers to distract the performance it was just her singing her lungs out! This was the performance that made people outside the Phillipines sit up and take note who Morissette is. In my opinion she took advantage of this popular event and really showcased her vocal acrobatic abilities. Like you said when she did that squeak - it was for show! Also to end the 2 song performance with the whistle note was in my opinion very courageous from her. Being live there is no second takes if you make a mistake. It really was icing on the cake performance. Just wow wow wow.
I agree with you about the music industry. It’s a shame and a tragedy that she may never get the recognition that she deserves. But I and many of her followers are blessed that we have discovered this generational vocalist who truly have touched a lot of hearts.
Fun note the artist from the first song - Little Mix and Jason Derulo did watch this performance and was blown away by her vocals.

With Morisette growing up in a tropical country and then performing in that cold stage alone, girl is running out of breath and cold for sure but that performance topped any vocal performances on that night for sure!
Finalllllllly!!!!!! This is one of my favourite favourite performances. Talk about commanding the stage. Second song reminds me of something from VH1 Divas back in the day. Memba those???? She was 🔥🔥🔥 sure people harp on her for the last little bit of her whistle note but hot damn, people should try what she did which is walking, dancing, jumping around and singing her face off. You guys were not ready for that second song!!!! Hahahaha She's just the best! One thing people may not necessarily hear but she finishes the words of her phases. That's one of the many things I appreciate about her.
I believe you guys reacted to Darren Espanto during your live. You should check out his Chandelier performance on the Wish Bus way back when he was around 14 years old followed by the Wish awards Chandelier Showdown with Darren and Morissette. The showdown video sound quality is not the best but this was an impromtu performance by them and from what I heard was not really rehearsed. Much more to learn about Morissette.

This is in South Korea and it's held every year in the Stadion with over 5 thousend people watching, the singers are normaly invited once to sing, but Mori was invited twice, the 2018 ASF Mori sings an original then a cover of a Korean song in english, and the crowd go crazy, after this Performance the Koreans love Mori, it's called RESIGNATION beautiful, ENJOY.
The 2017 Asia Song Festival in Korea was held at Busan Asiad Main Stadium. This stadium has a capacity of over 53k people!

Spectacular display of talent with unreal courage.Imagine performing alone on stage w/o backup singers only backing track no lipsyching no auto tuning, etc.infront of a huge audience is scary but w/o fear and using her incredible skill, Morissette pull it off easily like a piece of cake for her she is out of this world! She legitimately earned her Moniker( Asia's Phoenix) after this performance. The following year(2018) she was invited again to perform at the festival by the South Korean organization.She is the real GOAT!..Thank you guys for reacting and loving in awe to Morissette. I was surprised when you dropped this reaction cuz I didn't know you also love Morissette. Nevertheless, thanks for your reaction. Also, re: your question whether Morissette has a formal vocal training, the answer is yes. Her dad, who was a rock musician when he was younger, evidently knows music and so he became the automatic vocal coach. Thanks again for your reaction and have a great weekend.

The most vigorous performance ive seen from Morissette is from the JLO'S MEDLEY. Maannnn!!!! Jumping and dancing but the voice is so clear still and still belting. Im the one getting tired for her and she was just like yeah just some sweeat.... 😅
