I think it's because when you hit that age he's in (myself included) you still can't wrap your mind around how fast the time has flown by. He's surrounded by people much younger than him, who view him in the same way he once viewed Rain or MJ. Up until recently he was so used to being called the youngest of the group and letting his older members take care of everything that now it feels like such a strange transition that now he *is* that inspiration to others like Rain was to him for example. He still feels like a kid, yet he's their senior all of a sudden. It still trips me out in every day life, where has the time gone. But besides all of that, he *is* really humble about it all anyway.

Taemin is iconic because he was one of the youngest idols to debut and his growth as an idol to an artist was legendary. He was already talented but his hard work was what made it work. He crossed the limits, most significantly proving that even young people are capable, and breaking gender roles. That's how he manage to break through and become one of the most influential and inspirational people in kpop. Iconic I say.
I also thought Taemin was once the youngest idol to debut but I recently learned that BoA debuted at 13. They mentioned it it EXO 90:2014 show.

But Taemin is like a korean Michael Jackson and is hard not to see how skilled singer and dancer he is. Is different from everybody else and we know that there's lots of skilled ppl on kpop but Taemin has more freedom to work on his style and that gives him some advantage to experiment, that amaze ppl. I am saying this because like NCT's Ten, he's one of the most talented contemporary dancers on kpop but apart from his personal vids nothing is used in his performances with NCT so ppl don't see it. Same goes for EXO's Kai, that's also a main contemporary dancer. BTS's Jimin is also from contemporary dance but we can see some of it in Black Swan or in award shows when he has time for himself. In Taemin's case, you can see his skills and art throughout all his work, even with Shinee and is really REALLY hard ignore this kind of talent.

Some NCT members have dance videos for popular songs that show their skills, even Ten and Winwin choreographed and performed a dance for Billy Eilish song Lovely. Also Ten's performance on Hit The Stage. But it might be hard for non fans to purposely type in search bar or find those videos to watch by themselves, unless fans recommend that to them.

In interview recently he said if he wants to collab with Taemin, he'll have to work even harder to improve his dance to be able to keep up with Taemin's level because Taemin is so cool and such a perfectionist that works so hard for long hours and he feels intimidated that he can't do the same (working for long hours).
The real idol of idols. No question. Recently he is being called the artist of artist by Mnet's RTK. He's regarded as Kpop's King and picked by a group to cover on Mnet's RTK on the ep "K-pop's King". Even top industry executives, music critics and professionals pick him among the top 5 best and most powerful male soloist/artist overall many times. That says alot. Taemin is no joke at how influential, talented and powerful he is. The whole industry looks up to him. Idols/artists - both male and females - majority of them look up and admire Taemin. Even alot idols who's trying to make a solo debut study him(take notes) and look him up as their inspiration, their solos are inspired by Taemin. Taemin the trendsetter and ult role model. They all wanna be like him.
It’s interesting how so many people look up to him and all he looks up to are his SHINee members. Shows how humble he is as a person as well and how much he loves and looks up to them.
Haechan(NCT), Hoshi(SVT), Ten(Wayv), Chani(Sf9), Eric(The Boyz), J-US(ONF), as well as Xiao(Up10tion), Yuto(Pentagon), and more are the VIPs of Taemin fanclub for their constant love, admiration and being big fans of him and the latter two even having Taemin shrines. Honorable mention to Yangyang (WayV) for often mentioning Taemin and singing his songs. Shownu (MonstaX) has a mancrush on Taemin, same with Changsub (BtoB). Jisung (NCT) is starstruck by Taemin. Basically 3/4 of NCT are Taemin fans. Recently Taehyun of TXT confessed his love towards Taemin. Also Hyunjin of SKZ. Also Donghan (ex-JBJ). There's many more: members of The Boyz, TXT, SKZ, ATEEZ, ONF, BTS (Jungkook and Jimin), ONEUS, SVT, SF9, Victon, Snuper, Golcha, Cix, NCT, WayV, Astro, Pentagon, Monsta X, Up10tion, Boyfriend, Teentop, U-Kiss, etc. These are just few that I remember from the top of my head. Taemin was surprised and very humble cause he didn't expect to be mentioned by the whole industry. He's never really focus on trying to impress nor gain these many celeb/idol fans. He only focused on his passion, perfecting his craft, improve himself every comeback as he knew he was once weak at singing before 2012. So when he learned there's many idols that mentioned him as their role model and favorite artist, he was surprised and remain humble. He never let fame get to his head. One message he'd like to say to these idol fans is that be passionate in what you do, don't try to change yourself, work hard, remain humble/keep yourself grounded (which I think he meant don't change personality after you become popular), keep improving, keep having positive outlook, and don't give up because one day these idols will be at position like him too where they'll be admired and look up by future junior kpop idol fans.

Other idols can argue about being Taemin's number one fan but let's face it, no one loves Taemin more than his SHINee hyungs! They love, support and spoil Taemin like a baby. I doubt no one can top Onew's, Jonghyun's, Key's and Minho's love for Taeminnie.

Having been a shinee and taemin fan myself i couldn't help but think while watching this video that yes he is an outstanding dancer and an absolute beauty which is the reason behind a lot of people admiring him and being in awe when they see him. Another major factor is his sweet and sincere personality, which not a lot of people point out, as Ten and Lucas said that he is so considerate and kind hearted. A person just cannot be loved so dearly for so long solely because of his skills or beauty. These things become tiring and you cannot love someone for them alone. But being soft and sweet like how Taemin is, well you just gotta love a man like that.

Taemin is adorable, kind, showman and gentleman singer. He always show his love for his fans around the world to say thank you in several linguages. I miss his live almost every week, talking with his fans, likes He knows everyoneelse. He doesn't fell tired to share his life with fans.

Can I just say though, Taemin seriously is one of the best artists I know. Music-wise, he's got some of the coolest and most meaningful tracks I've ever heard in my life. His songs are pure quality - you can go from something incredibly empowering and hyped up like WANT, and you can go down to something incredibly emotional and raw like SOLDIER. Taemin himself doesn't realise what an impact he has on people.
As a shawol i'm so proud that he's always shy whenever ppl praised him alot. He's naturally low profile❤️
What I also liked about him is that even tho he is already on the top he stayed humble no wonder everyone loves him and respect him.
