I am really impressed with the garden seating area. You took a very small space and created several possibilities. It can be alleged for potted large plants and small trees. it can be outfitted with beautiful cushions and be pure seating with a couple of cocktail tables here and there for entertaining ... OR whoever moves in can have a table built at the very end and have bench seating on three sides for eating alfresco. Even a small water feature fountain in the center between all the benches might be a nice touch ... so many possibilities for people who have moved in and want to play with the space.
The shutters are beautiful! I LOVE the grill has been repaired, it looks fabulous! The tiles look amazing, I’d love to have my morning coffee on that lovely patio.
The tiles are looking good Ed, they match the stone great, the shutters look great as well, can`t wait to see a door put on the front, for the finishing touch.
I just can’t believe what you have done with this ruin of a house. It is actually looking charming. It took a while to convince me but I guess that you are the one with the “eye” and the talent. Everything is looking just great.
Edd, Anna, the cast-iron window railings are beautiful. The floor on the outside is going down really well. God bless you Edd, Anna, God bless your Family
You totally need to put an outdoor mirror at the apex of the garden. It would make the garden look bigger as well as bounce a lot of light into the shaded areas. Love all the work. You are both an inspiration! 😊
The completion of and installation of the window grilles is fantastic. Changes are just wonderful. The outside floor tiling, I know will be masterful. Can't wait to see it all completed 🤩👍👍
The place is looking so different now , it’s so pretty! Love the ironwork around the windows and the shutters , won’t even know that pipe is there when it’s boxed in and Anna beautifies it with her florals
You make everything look easy even though I know it’s not! This house is going to be fabulous and the courtyard is beautiful. And you can cook fancy food too.
I would love to live in this beauty of a home that you are restoring!!❤❤ can’t wait to see how the front door looks now that the grills are refinished!! In fact, I would love to see prospective buyers or neighbors faces if you would do a bit of a walk through later!!❤❤
Just discovered that the shutter clips, dogs, or whatever other name there is, are actually fashioned like ladies. There are other shapes too, but good choice with ladies. Elegant. In fact, it is all looking quite elegant.
Love the shutters. Love love the grill works back in place. So beautiful! Love the doors out onto the garden area! The tiles look so good. Great job Edd. Oh poor glasses! lol lol The seating looks so very good. Your tile work is amazing Edd! Great job. All the best!!!
I have only ever known those forged iron holdbacks as "shutter dogs"? I thought it was perhaps a North American term , but upon "googling", I found a few Ebay items listed: "French Antique Shutter Dogs", which look quite similar to yours? Then from a catalog of "Quincailleries des volets battants (bois)" I found (amongst over a dozen designs!) the specific name of yours: "Arrêt tête bergère", which translates as"Shepherd's head stop". Hence you were correct about the "shepherd" part, but no mention of any ladies anywhere! lol I love that you left them black, as are your handsome restored & remounted front window grilles! Some sundry Chateau "restorers" seem fixated on painting all their original exterior iron hardware, gates and fixtures a gleaming gloss white(?!??) which to me, makes them look like cheap new repros from Brico instead of the authentic antiques that they actually are.
@@barbaraoshea8639 Actually ...until I read that translated descriptor in the hardware catalogue, I always thought a "Bergère" was an upholstered French armchair with fabric enclosed arms? (Not to be confused with a Fauteuil with open arms)
The power of First Impressions ! You can see immediately the quality of your stonework and the materials you have used. So to tie the exterior with the interior - have you considered one large stone step as your first step inside rather than those smaller ones. What an entrance ! The height of the stone determined by comfort and ease, as it invites you into your home. Your outside and inside are now connected. Quality façade, beautiful black door, and a foundation stone entrance. The 1 2 3. I'd sell this while it's pristine. I know someone, who when buying a NYC apartment overlooking Central Park said they'd purchase the apartment if a particular oil painting was included. Have an interior designer make it a home for you - larger pieces in smaller spaces always work - using that 'wow oil painting' you're prepared to lose to sell the home, in just the right place. Anna probably knows the piece of art. The "I want to live like this" feeling that means a sale. And then you get to take us antiquing !
Funnily enough we are in Bordeaux at the moment, staying this week in Arcachon. Don’t worry we won’t be popping in to say hello, although we are looking for our own project to buy.
You are among the top 3 vlogs i view as soon as they arrive on TH-cam. The balcony railings look fabulous, and of course, also the pretty courtyard. Well done. What a miracle build. 🎉
The place is looking great guys! Great investment for sure! Railings are spectacular, installing the front door will finish the whole place off! Cheers! Thomas!
I really like this lil outdoor area Edd and Anna!!😍 We'll the renters won't have to mow grass eh?? It's adequate for a small group. Or some kids. Nice work EDD. LOVE THE IRON WORK ON THE UPPER WINDOWS🎉
That black window railing sure made a huge difference. Looking forward to seeing the door frame as well. Lovely.
Yes. These rails are so charming! It's beautiful.
Yes perfect balance now. You've done a wonderful job with renovations.
The garden with the big doors is going to make such a relaxing sanctuary space!

All the little bits you completed really do make a difference. It’s looking like a real nice place for someone to live in. Great job 😍😘
The neighbours must be so happy. I hope that Louis' business is doing well.
The shutters are beautiful! I LOVE the grill has been repaired, it looks fabulous! The tiles look amazing, I’d love to have my morning coffee on that lovely patio.
No apologies necessary, you have a business to look after. Priorities!
Love theses "vlogs".
They’re called shutter dogs here in southern US
The tiles are looking good Ed, they match the stone great, the shutters look great as well, can`t wait to see a door put on the front, for the finishing touch.
Yes a bit more stone repair and the front door will see the front of the house looks great!?!
I noticed that railing straight away, it looks amazing, makes it look so much better having it back in place.👍
Edd and Anna I bet you have a line up of people wanting to move in.
The little house is looking really good. I love the tile choice. The windows and the repaired iron work are beautiful!

I would never tell you what to do. I never mess with perfection.😊😊❤

Edd you are so snarky, I love it. I enjoy you and Ann’s vlogs. I live in California and to see you rebuilding a ugly house into a home for someone.
Wow guys, brilliant job!! I can’t wait to see the finished product ❤
I’m trying to remember what the tiniest garden looked like before all the work was done. It’s looking fabulous!!
I love the metalwork on the outside windows in black. And as always you are doing beautiful work with the tiles. Hugs. 💕
You make everything look easy even though I know it’s not! This house is going to be fabulous and the courtyard is beautiful. And you can cook fancy food too.
How did Anna manage to get over the tiles without standing on them?…….she did a cartwheel of course! 🤸🏼♂🤸🏼♂🤸🏼♂🤸🏼♂
Železná ozdoba oken je naprosto úžasná. Jste nesmírně šikovný a pracovitý muž. Už teď je to úžasná nemovitost.

Oh, those grills are magnificent….. that house feels loved ❤️
Edd What a Fantastic Job You Have Done. Can't believe it. When You Look Back To What it was Like at First. 😮😮😮
❤I don't care if its late! Thanks for another great vlog!!!❤ Hi Anna and Edd!

You should give us a quick interim summary of how it used to look compared with now - unrecognisable !

Bergère is the feminin form, so means sheperdess.
