- Paris to Peking Motor Challenge 2022 launched in Paris.
The prestigious Automobile Club de France situated next door to the FIA HQ in Place de la Concorde Paris, played host for the launch of the 8th Edition of the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge on Tuesday 4th February.
A packed house of 150 people eagerly listened as the route for the next adventure was revealed by Route Coordinator and deputy clerk of the course, Chris Elkins. The audience broke into applause as he finished taking them through the map graphics, describing the challenges along the way, the final section being described as a ‘sting in the tail’.
HERO ERA Chairman Tomas de Vargas Machuca was on hand to welcome the guests from the international media, officials, former and hopeful competitors plus partners and sponsors. Competition Director and clerk of the course for 2022 Guy Woodcock, outlined the increased challenges and adventure which he hoped would be experienced over all 37 days of the event.
The news was well-received. Entries opened the same day as the conference and launch as entry forms from crews all over the world flooded in the next day (Wednesday 5th). Can't wait to grow up to take part in such fun and fabulous rally, it will be more like the grand tour instead of watching, one can take part in it.

I'm an Australian Paramedic who loves older cars, and cross--country rallying. Unfortunately I do not have a suitable car for an event like this. Does anyone else who would like to do Peking to Paris 2022 have a car and need a crew member?? Or maybe I could tag along the rally as Medical crew? Feel free to contact me
