The present Transit Custom is a well thought out vehicle with some cool features. Little things like, when you take the keys out and your reading or whatever for a sec, the entertainment system will stay on till you open the door. When turning the parking lights come on at a 45 degree angle to show you where your going. When reversing in rain the back windscreen wipers will come on automatically. They are great fun all rounder to drive. Plus the app is pretty good too. You can see the location of the vehicle and lock/unlock remotely if needed plus much more information is available through the app. I'm sold!

Started driving vans in my daily job and spotted this van in Luxembourg and yeah....now I want one. I'd say the mountain trail in it was some craic, not much trail driving for me on my routes but plenty of twisty roads in Luxembourg just begging for a van like this.
The Big problem with them is the MPG. The 170ps averages 38 MPG And if you do big miles, that's going to hurt. Also, the injectors give trouble in them. Common issue. It is the easiest van in Europe to break into. You can buy a master key online which opens them all. You need to fit extra locks and security at more cost..
Not alone injectors have 171 and back to dealer 8 times and replaced full set 4times,clutch slave cylinder,cv joints and nearly got me wrote off last week when brake vacum pump failed on approach to main road had to pull handbrake to stop it.So to say i have confidence😕 in Ford transit i dont think so.Best of luck with it but try not to drive it to much.
Will the cup holder's hold a pint glass of Guinness ? If this van really has good off road ability then you better keep your Ifor Williams in your lounge room ! TBH I'd rather have a Toyota .
Irish number plates are serious silly. Who gives a toss how old the car is (if you are interested, take a look at the build plate) and where the vehicle was first registered. Its simply a sequence to identify the car, not give you a detailed history. On the van, so funny in Europe that no vans have glass windows in the back and passenger side so you actualy see through the rear view mirror. The transit customs in Australia and Zealand even have a glass window in the bulk head for this reason. On the liftback, unless you load pallets in the back, as a tradesperson and lifestyle van, the liftback makes much more sense, keep off the rain and the sun as you have lunch. Still no LED lights yet. No keyless start entry, again, for some one who hops in and out of the van all day, this is an issue. The front drivers seat always start creaking in the Custom. Electric seat missing like the Sport version.
Those vans (regardless of trim level) have two flaws: - can't pair up the LSD with an automatic transmission, - can't order an automatic a/c. Why, Ford? WHY?
@@bekabeka71 you misunderstood - I meant you ccan't order an automatic A/C.. You know, climatronic or however it is called by Ford. That's what their catalogue says and that's what a dealer told me. Apparently my brother ordered a Trail version with an automatic a/c, but I've gotta see it to believe.
