  • Big is not always best and or beautiful sometimes good things really DI come in small packages.
Taken from a very fancy house in a rather affluent area is this big chunky 1 lb in weight Gate Matlock was bumped open in about eight seconds with the same Bump Keys that I used to release the cylinder and unlock the gate from the other side by simply jiggling it in the lock.
So never be fooled by the side of something is big and solid and heavy. It does not necessarily mean that it is good. Sometimes the smaller the simple and the light is as effective if not better.
in this case, the video shows me using a pump key to wiggle wiggle jiggle as my daughter would say and open the lock in about three seconds. I didn't take it with the Bump Keys side and got it in eight seconds.
    Any questions?

I have one if these locks. Primarily to make it easy to get through the gate, from the street side, without having to enter the property. It is enough to stop a casual opportunist from simply entering through the gate. My personal opinion is that anyone with the skill or determination to get into a secured area will do so. Alarms, cameras and locks are as much about deterrents. Plus having the lock helps keep my property insurance premium down. Lower than the price of the lock. If you have a gate lock that looks the part compared to your neighbours that’s half the battle. My neighbour has no gate lock, just a latch. However he has a German Shephard the size of a Shetland pony.

Hey, do you have a recommendation for a similar type of gate lock?

What's the best lock for a gate then? One which can be locked from both sides with a key.
