@@ebnovels yes, that is a good one too! I dont know where you stand with Szeth. But I tend to go back and forth between being mad at him for blindly following this "code" of his, and sympathy cause you see his internal struggle with it.
We will get Szeth eventually. He was going to be book 3, it went to Dalinar. Then he was going to be book 4, but it went to Eshonai and Venly, so it's book 5 by earliest at this point.
I think you missed taravangian and the diagram. It is very likely to be a pretty major part of the continuing story but you didn’t even call him out by name. Otherwise an amazing recap! Thank you so much for putting it together. Also the whole parshendi turning into the fused is kinda where the last book left off and is going to need to be a major part of the next book. I think the parshendi needed some more screen time.

The most important detail you left out was the whole Odium confrontation with Dalinar and how Dalinar is now the storm father after bonding with one of the most powerful Spren. Also you didn't mention the different types of Spren or how the parshendi became fused with the Spren, which is going to be a huge plot point in book 4 I think. Idk you skipped a bunch of other details but pretty fantastic overview altogether, loved the memes too. Thanks for the video!

First time commenting, been watching your videos for a few months now. You're one of the people ,in addition to other articles and some people IRL, who've gotten me into Sanderson. I started off with "The Way of Kings", "Warbreaker", "Elantris", and am currently 10 chapters away from being done with "Words of Radiance". Then, onto "Edgedancer" and "Oathbringer". I can't watch this right now for fear of spoilers. Just wanted to say keep doing what you do. I don't watch all your videos or agree with everything you say, but you definitely create some cool content. Keep on truckin'.
He has absolutely SPOILED Adult Fantasy for me. His facility with language, character development, and world-building is so good that most other writers pale in comparison for me. Shallan is my favorite character of all his books. I'm a heavy reader of philosophy as well so she and I are kindred spirits (although, I suppose she's more of a scientist but whatever). Kaladin is usually a little too angsty for me. I feel like they're going to end up together and I really hope they don't. Sure I'll find out soon enough.

I feel like even though he’s a huge name in fantasy right now, he’s still underappreciated by the wide majority of readers and his adult fantasy can seem intimidating, but you make it seem a lot more accessible while addressing what could make his writing seem intimidating. I’m currently starting Oathbringer and will inhale it just as quickly I did the first two installments!

I’m really glad for Adolin killing Sadeas, it was high time someone took him out instead of the constant political maneuvering. Now the crown for most annoying tool goes to Moash. I didn’t really like the fact that there wasn’t much reaction shown regarding the ‘resurrection’ of Jasnah (probably behind the scenes but I wanted to see stuff) nor was there much reaction to Szeth just joining them. Sure they were busy fighting blah blah but I wanna see it properly addressed in the next novel. Also, kinda annoyed we didn’t get to see the wedding.
Yes to all your annoyances! I thought the wedding might start off the next book; I was really surprised that it didn’t. Haha, I also was surprised that Jasnah coming back elicited basically nothing, and then I HOPE there’s some super interesting tension with Szeth joining them :D

Thanks for the fun video, good recap of what happened in the 3 books. One of the major things you missed was how this whole mess started, with the ancients creating shardblades and shardplates by harnessing dead spren.
Isn’t the creation of shardplate still just a theory? We know about shardblades and a lot of people are fairly certain plate is made from lesser spren, but I don’t recall that being confirmed.

Are these editions still available? Most of the ones I see in bookstores here is Australia are the white ones when there are 2 books for each title. If there will be 10 books for this series then that means I have to buy 20 books for the whole set. Also, I’ve been looking at the Brandon Sanderson books in Book Depository, are they the same sizes as the ones you’ve got. So hard to buy online, one time I ordered a book & got the mass paper back edition. Thank you.

Uh, and Kaladin was also battling 4 fused and protecting Dalinar at the same time. Rock finishing the job with kickass Shardbow authority is icing on the cake

He’s spoiled adult fantasy for me too. The tone is exactly what I love-heavy at times, hopeful at times, and with complex characters.

In my experience, they are only long when you AREN'T reading them.
MYC Book and entertainment by the time you are done you will actually wish they were longer.
First book starts off really slow, but if you can get past the initial hump, you'll find yourself in Sandersons best series.
