- While editing I realised even more what a beautiful beautiful song this is. Our reaction doesn't even do it justice 😔
What are your thoughts? Let's chat in comments.
Guys, I've listened to this song so many times while editing and I'll be honest - our reaction doesn't even come close to the adulation this song deserves.
It's simply beautiful and everyone involved deserves the highest of praise. Artists deserve the world for making us feel the way we do. Thank you to them.
What are your thoughts?
listen its original 1994 version here''s the link th-cam.com/video/PGgcOK7MgoM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E31oFg6aCm_XJz8e
Babna Karim, the first vocalist, wrote it by the shores of Cox’s Bazar in the early 90s during a batch tour with his BUET (a reputed Bangladeshi public university) classmates. He was emotionally vulnerable at the time, having just lost his elder brother. In an interview, Babna Karim mentioned that while he had the tune in mind for a while, the words came to him during that tour. He didn't bring his guitar, being quite introverted, but later borrowed a friend's guitar to sing the song to his friends in a dark room at a rest house by the shore. To him, this song is a hymn to the love of existence itself, a reminder to cherish being alive. Listening to it now, while residing in a BUET hall, gives me goosebumps.
(By the way, Bruce's glasses look really good 👌)
It’s one of the best for me for this season!!
I'm listening to this song 1995 but it never gets old..❤❤
@@tahseendavid that’s honestly so cool. I love knowing the backstory of these songs :) thanks for taking the time to share 😁
Google "top 10 hard rock bands around the world" you will get what Warfaze really is. They are not a rap group or any dance or trance group. Get to know about the artist first before making comments on 'em. Warfaze is another name of love for Bangladesh and it's music. Cheers to the music!
Thanks for reacting on Bangladeshi songs. Take love from Bangladesh. ❤
I'm from Germany,
Bangladesh Band songs are amazing, better than Hollywood.
I'm goin to learn bangla.
I am coming to your country very soon.. ❤
The aged man, Babna Karim, who was singing completed his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with a grade of 3.98 out of 4.00 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He joined as a faculty teacher at BUET. Then he went to the USA for his Masters in Industrial Engineering. He completed his Masters with a perfect grade of 4.00 out of 4.00 from Texas Tech University!! He is now a professional engineer at Honeywell company. He now lives in Houston, USA with his family.
Wow! 😮
To understand the song imagine you are standing in front of a seashore alone on a moonlit night, where no people around, no sound from ships, only you and the sea face to face. It gives the feeling that you are so small in front of a vast natural phenomenon. All you want is to enjoy the peace and serenity of silence.
The first singer Babna Karim, is the lyricist and composer of the song., original singer. The second singer Palash Noor is the current vocalist of Warfaze. Babna an alumnus of BUET, later lecturer of the same university, now a US-based professional mechanical engineer, penned down the song on 29th Feb 1992 at a resthouse in Cox's Bazar. He first performed in front of 17 classmates on their vacation that night. later the song became the title track of the OBAK BHALOBASHA album of the band.
This version is a memorabilia for the 40th anniversary of the mighty Warfaze. Coke Studio surprises audiences by starting the song with the original singer Babna. The primary plan was that Babna would carry out the song, later Palash's voice was recorded as the "passing the baton" to the current generation of Warfaze and Gen Z, to make a timeless or forever impression from generation to generation. Several compositions were prepared by Warfaze keyboardist Shams Mansoor Ghani and were rejected to finalize the CSB version. Two lead guitarists played the lead riff, one with white deadlock Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal. He is one of the guitar maestros along with Ayub Bacchu. The second lead guitarist is Samir, the youngest member of the band. He is one of the producers of the CSB version. Enjoy.
From 90's.
Original song by Babna Karim,WARFAZE and he is back like king.♥️
Lyrics and Translation:
অবাক ভালবাসা - ওয়ারফেজ
Obak Bhalobasha - Warfaze
Astonishing Love
shob aalo nibhe jak andhare
May all the light fade to darkness
sudhu jege thak oi durer tarara
Where the only ones awake are those faraway stars
shob shobdo theme jak nistobdhotay
May all the words trail off into silence
sudhu jege thak ei shagor amar pashe
Where the only thing I hear is this ocean next to me
shob bedona muche jak sthirotay
May all the pain be erased into stillness
hridoy bhore jak ostitter anonde
May the heart be filled with the bliss of existence
hridoy gobhire obak drishtite, thomke danriyecche mohakaal ekhane
The deepest part of the heart is surprised by a sudden vision of eternity
shubhro balir shoikote
On the beach of white sand
elomelo batashe, guitar haate
In a random breeze, guitar in hand
nistobdhota chouchir
The silence is shattered
unmaad jhonkaare kaandi obak shukher kanna
In the mad ringing of a sudden flood of tears of happiness
jeno chuni heera panna shagorer buke,
alpona enke diye jay
obak bhalobashay
Like a sacred design of precious jewels in the heart of the ocean
Created by an astonishing love
shob aalo nibhe jak andhare
May all the light fade to darkness
sudhu jege thak oi durer tarara
Where the only ones awake are those faraway stars
shob shobdo theme jak nistobdhotay
May all the words trail off into utter silence
sudhu jege thak ei shagor amar pashe
Where the only thing I hear is this ocean next to me
shob koshto boye jak sukher jhor
May all trouble be carried off in a storm of bliss
hridoy bhore jak sahoj neel shopne
And the heart be filled with a simple azure dream
hridoy gobhire obak drishtite, thomke danriyecche mohakaal ekhane
The deepest part of the heart is surprised by a sudden vision of eternity
shubhro balir shoikote
On the beach of white sand
elomelo batashe, guitar haate
In a random breeze, guitar in hand
nistobdhota chouchir
The silence is shattered
unmaad jhonkaare kaandi obak shukher kanna
In the mad ringing of a sudden flood of tears of happiness
jeno chuni heera panna shagorer buke,
alpona enke diye jay
obak bhalobashay
Like a sacred design of precious jewels in the heart of the ocean
Created by an astonishing love hey this song is a recreation of Warfaze''s one of a cult classic timeless song OBAK BHALOBASHA .try to listen its original version . here''s the link th-cam.com/video/PGgcOK7MgoM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E31oFg6aCm_XJz8e
Weird transcription. Write -ś- for স/শ/ষ except when they are followed by র/ন/ত or preceded by হ, when it becomes -s-. Transcribe অ as -ô-, and ও as -ō-, but for accurate pronunciation, I would say apply them whenever the general sound of the letter is applied. Transcribe আ as -a-, চ as -c-, ছ as -ch-, and for chandrabindu (ঁ), add tilde above vowel (ã, for example). Also, don’t write guitar in Bangla the same as in English...no -u- sound really. Finally, if you want to separate murdhonno (ট, ঠ, ড, ঢ), capitalize the letters for the dontto (ত, থ, দ, ধ) ones as in -t-/-d-, or keep them as they are.
Thanks so much for this! ❤️ will definitely watch the original
It's no doubt that you feel there are similarities in Bangladeshi and Japanese music. It's because of the similarities in what the people from both countries value in life.
Bangladesh and Japan have a long-lasting friendship. Japanese engineers and other professionals have helped Bangladesh building its infrastructure for decades since Bangladesh's independence in 1971. Some of them even learnt to speak Bangla, which is not an easy language to learn, as they stayed and worked in Bangladesh. Both are Asian countries with a lot of cultural and societal similaries in terms of preserving their traditions, treating elders and much more.
Thanks for reacting to this musical masterpiece.
There are more noticeable similarities between Bangladesh and Japan. In the flags of the two countries, the staple food of both countries is rice.
You are comparing Bangladesh with Japan, I can't stop my laughing 😂🤣
The harmonisation is sending me!
Deeper deeper deeper!
Bangla band music(and other genres as well) was so darn popular during 90's, 00's & early 2010's that international bands & musician's albums didn’t sell as much as LRB, Nagabaul, Warfaze, Miles, Asif, Kanak Chapa etc..... but because of access to internet increase, availability of smartphone & pandemic has halted the progress of Bangla music for almost a decade because now people listen more to foreign musicians & bands and doesn’t give chance to new musicians so even the musicians are copying works of foreigners. I`m glad Coke Studio is bringing the interest in Bangla music back and also spreading its greatness across the world
The song was released in 1994.. . 30 years ago. Warfaze would be 40 years in june 6 this year. First singer of the video is babna karim who was in the lineup of warfaze's first three albums and is a legend of warfaze. The tune and the lyrics of Obak Bhalobasha was also composed by him And the 2nd singer is polash noor who is current vocalist of warfaze since 2016.
Obak Bhalobasha (its Surprised Love not wonderful love), written in 1992, released in 1994.
Thanks for clarifying 😊
Yes, and it doesn't sound FUNNY in our language. It's a deep emotional song. And about the band's name, Warfaze is a heavy metal band from the 80's. They have hard core metal songs. This is just a variation of their soft rock image.
While "surprised love" is the literal translation of অবাক ভালোবাসা, I do believe "wonderful love" works better for English, which is probably why CSB went for it.
Literal translations don't really work for poems and songs. Feelings and emotions are written differently in every culture. Conveying emotions across languages often needs a meaningful reconstruction than just word-to-word translation.
@@anisaliu3443 may be, but I would still say "Surprised Love" is more appropriate, not just literally but in actual. There is one more thing coke studio mentioned in the description part, that they are a rock band, which they are not, they are a metal band, who did a few rock numbers and some on the softer side as well. been following them for three and half decades now.
@@tanzilkhan7315 'Surprised love' shouldn't be the actual translation. It's rather 'strange love'. But yes, the Rock genre should be replaced by Metal of course. That's defining them in a wrong way.
Check out all the other tracks from Warefaze if you can. There were 5 members from the band performing. 3 of them are from the original lineup from the late 80's.
Watching my fav song and your reaction from 🇿🇦
Awesome! Thanks for watching! Where you from?? 🇿🇦
International popularity of Bangladeshi metal bandsFor example, Warfaze was ranked 5th in "Best Hard Rock Bands" on TheTopTens. Sometimes they pushed even further and ranked 4th, surpassing classic hard rock bands like Aerosmith, Queen, Bon Jovi and Van Halen.
The melody, lyrics, and visuals of "Obak Bhalo Basha" by Coke Studio Bangla evoke a sense of healing for souls and hearts through music and love. This timeless duty is passed down from one generation to the next.
The presence of two vocalists, sitar players, guitarists, and flutists symbolizes this transition, with each pair representing the elder passing the healing baton to the younger. Set against the serene backdrop of a starry night by the sea in Cox's Bazar, the ambiance evokes an eternal sense of love and healing, where nature and music blend to soothe and uplift. It is about celebrating our existence , feeling how beautiful this gift of God is. Life.
Thank you, Warfaze and Coke Studio Bangla, for this healing effort.
The original version of this song is better in my opinion. "Warfaze" is a legendary band in Bangladesh. You can check on their other famous tracks like 'Purnota', 'Boshe Achi', 'Na', 'Moharaj' if you like. You can find audio version of those songs in their youtube channel.
Agreed!
A lot of people seem to be saying the original is better…I’m gonna listen 😊
@@IAM_SALEM Originals is only better for those who already grew up listening to that, but to a new listener I believe the new version will sound better.
I agree with you. The original song is a emotion❤.
The original magic remains in this update of a nineties' rock song classic from Bangladesh that bridges over to a new generation, represented by the younger second singer with his different but equally beautiful voice and, the double electric guitars.
Thank you for your reaction💙🇧🇩
Actually the ancestor was the nostalgic one who is now transferring his feelings to the heir ….to carry forward ….
Most genuine reaction and on point reaction of this song sp far, the wonderful love is about your sheer existence
Thank you for your kind words
Dear brother Selem,
There is thousands of Reactors in TH-cam,
But trust me brother almost maximum of them do reactions for getting views .
There is only few reactors who react from their heart, they feel the emotion behind the content !
You're among them who react everything from bottom of your heart,
You feel it you live with it those 5/6 minutes!
I am not suggesting You to do more reaction on only Bangla contents, no you should go beyond because You have that ability you have that inner emotion !
Please get more regular, give more reactions!
Long way to go brother!
Love from 🇺🇸 ❤
My brother, your kind words mean everything to me. I read it this morning and it inspired me so much - I wish you knew.
I started reacting because I used to watch reactors and didn’t like how they did it actually. I told myself I would do it differently 😊
I will continue to do everything this way - everything from my heart.
Stay on this journey with me, let’s continue together. Thanks again ❤
Best review and Best discussion too, love from Bangladesh ❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍
@nacok9681 thank you!!! 😊
you can consider it more as “strange love” than “wonderful love”. like you dunno how to explain the love. ❤️
Love from India. 🩵
Warfaze is ranked as 4th best hard rock band of the world according to the "Top 10 " website. You can react the original composition of Obak bhalobasha by warfaze itself. Ig, it is better than the coke studio one.
You can se a good transition from classic to rock band....in the first part when Babna Karim sing there is classic touch with flute and sitar these are classic instruments but when the second artist start singing you can see all the modern instruments like electric guitar this song is actually work to connect the Classic and modern Music of this band and it's so beautiful the harmony is enjoyable❤❤❤
I am proud to be a small musician of Bangladesh🤍😇🤗🥀🙏
Awesome! Would love to listen to your music one day 🤍
Bangladeshi best singar❤🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Ah! You guys could certainly catch the essence of this timeless song. Thank you for the genuine expressions..
Loved it. Cheers
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it mate.
WE LOVE YOU! I know I do atleast. You guys go into the essence of the song and try to listen to it's soul, something other content creators don't do. Much appreciated.
I love you guys too 😭 I wake up every day to wonderful comments like yours. We will continue to do it in this way - thank you for your kind words. Stay in touch!
Brothers, this is a short reaction on your reactions. I came here to see the reaction of people who doesn’t know or know little about our country, history, culture, music and everything. Bangladesh is very rich in music. Personally, i listen and enjoy all types of music from all corners of the world. Music connects people. I am seeing some reaction videos to connect the dots. I watched your reactions, choices and use of words, impressions carefully. What i found....we are fully connected...even with the timing of the goosebumps. God bless you. Listen to good music and stay happy. Love from Bangladesh.❤
I'm always so excited to see you guys react to these videos. You guys try to actually understand the song and video in general. Even as a native, i learn so much from you guys discussing the meanings and stuff. Lots of love from me❤️
Awww! ❤️ So glad you took the time to write this. The reason I started the channel was to react to things in the way I wished others would - delving deeper than the regular stuff. Makes me happy to know in some way that we’re doing exactly that. Lots of love to you 😊 Keep watching and stay in touch!
"Who would say it's a 90's metal band's song is just amazing💥💥I remember very well when I was in class eight when this album was released👈🧒"
Great reaction
Thank you
While listening to the original Bengali version of this timeless song by Babna Karim, one may read the English translation of the Bengali lyrics posted by Coke Studio, Bangla:
May all the lights dim down to darkness
Only, let them stay awake -
Those faraway stars.
May all the words quieten to dead silence
Only, let this ocean stay.
Along with me ... Ahaa
Ahaa...
Ahaa...
May all pains be swept away
By a storm of bliss
Let my heart be filled with
Simple serene dreams.
Deep down in my soul, with a startled stare
The eternity is standing motionless right here.
Ahaa...
Ahaa...
On the seashore of white sands
In the careless breeze,
With guitar in my hands.
Silence is now shattered into shards
Strumming wild,
I cry out in amazing passion
As if the diamonds, rubies & emeralds,
Together, in the heart of the ocean,
Weaving sublime patterns with
A wonderful love!
Timeless Love!

You know guys? They are remaking this song after 30 years. They sang the original in 1994.
Here is the original (actually remade with better sound quality) version of 'Obak Valobasha' - th-cam.com/video/Qh_sxMN9UH8/w-d-xo.html
The song was first released in 1994, exactly 40 years back. To many people, this original version is better than the Coke Studio version. So you should definitely check it out too.
The link you provided is not the original it was remake version.
The original one : th-cam.com/video/PGgcOK7MgoM/w-d-xo.html

Warfaze is world's top no:4 hard metal band👑
bro who is making these rankings? i love warfez, but 4th? come on. it's just ignorance or trolling at this point. i see this comment like everywhere i go. you gotta stop my dude.
@@borhulo9521 Go and search "thetoptens" in google there you will find in the list of heavy metal band where warfaze is on no. 4. It's a ranking based on people's choice nothing much but still you will find them along with all the best bands of the world.
Bro this song is sad song in love
07:15 Exactly my thought!
Wow
First of all Babna bh did not write this song for his brother. He wrote Bichinno Abeg for his brother who was killed in a BAF crash. This song is about thanks to God for giving us everything without even asking for it. He had that feeling seeing the Bay of Bengal for the First time. He laughed when I told him now 🤣🤣🤣
Before reviewing anything please do study about it. You should do some research about Warfaze and their history. How you could say it seems like a dancing group out of nowhere? Do some research then start reviewing and before assuming something make sure you are on the right track.
Not a review, a reaction! How would we know about Warfaze if this is the first time we’re seeing it. Relax, enjoy things for what they are. Life isn’t so serious. Now we both know so much about Warfaze! 😁
Though this version lacks the void of the original one
