I think when he got dumped as a writer from GOT he took it personally, gave him a sour taste, and slowed his writing on the books. Now he’s got a positive feeling again about Westeros and his legacy.
People complain that GRRM shouldn’t be doing the HOTD or new projects until winds is done. But I honestly can’t wait I LOVE DUNK N EGG and haters are going to hate no matter what right!?
If he's gonna do something other than finish the books, then I for one am glad that it's something like HotD, or an Aegon and Friends show, or this. We should also be glad that he's clearly enjoying himself bc he's earned that much.

HotD really went a long way in cementing Planetos as a viable franchise. I'm incredibly thankful for its success. I was happy bc it was awesome and enjoyable, but also happy bc i knew it meant suits would be looking to milk this cash cow in other entertaining ways. Still, even this sweet drink has bitter undertones. With each new venture, GRRM is spread even thinner. His genius input is like Bilbo's butter, spread thin over too much bread. Bread I will nonetheless wolf down despite knowing tomorrow i will go hungry
What a fantastic universe. What a fantastic world. HBO is literally sitting on a gold mine. They have 100 years worth of contents lol. GRRM is a legend for creating this world of "A song of ice & fire".
My favorite scene is page 56 of the hedge knight, where it's dunks' pov, but from the Spectaters point of view watchin the list do thier first charge at the Tourny was a true Display of Chivalry at its core many Sundry knights Clash lance with helm sword with mail many cheered the competitors gave it thier all and Dunk could see that he's in the big leagues for real now in a Sport with still such honor in it.

Man i cant wait to hear your ideas on summerhall and see what happens in the show. So many mysteries and really pivotal information for the series rides on that event. Its weird to me that theres a lot of faith of the seven and wildfire in eggs dragon recipe. Youd think his brother drinking it would make him have strong feelings about it. But having a pregnant targ there lines up pretty well. I wonder what influence the ghost of high heart and betha had, or even aemon. I really hope he didnt try and sacrifice his family. I can see a scenario where egg got obsessed with bringing dragons back tried to sacrifice a family memner and dunk tries to stop it and things get out of control.
I don’t normally like when a franchise balloons into a [blank]verse, because it can start to feel too unwieldy. That said, I’m optimistic about this one. It really seems like the model of the Martinverse a) being mostly based on material that’s already written, and b) has Martin directly involved is going to keep everything consistent. Just a thought about winds and dream, this man pieced together with his brain probably the most epic fantasy universe in all of literature...then watched his ending turn to blasphemy and get roasted by asoiaf fans across the board. These last 2 books are the ending of a literal masterpiece. 5 years, 10 years, 15 years...i feel like hes earned the right to take his time and finish it right....and epic like what we wanted from the show. I mean the man is like eminem of fantasy, people have dedicated their lives to picking apart and trying to piece together everything his work has to offer. Maybe Egg will find out about the whole white walker prophecy from Lynara Stark (assuming that she founds out about it from Cregan) which will inspire his actions at Summerhall. I suppose that won’t be the only reason, but he will “connect the dots” along the way. Which might be also the reason he sends Bloodraven to Wall with the Dark Sister. Btw Bloodraven seems to be the first “Dragon” beyond the wall, if I am not wrong… 🤔

Did you ever play the video game "Elden Ring" ? Even if you are not a gamer it's still worth checking out because its lore, universe and part of the story is written by GRRM. he did a amazing job on it and seemed like he had fun with it. It's so fun playing it not just because it's a amazing game but because you can tell GRRM made the universe and you can make so many connections too ASOIAF from Elden Ring.
As a big Song fan and a big Souls fan, Elden Ring really was a match made in heaven between GRRM and Miyazaki. It probably has the best story/lore of any of the soulsbornes and I think it is quite evident that GRRM had no small hand in that.

@@realhillkell baelor was 39 when he died. oscar isaac is 44. he is latine so fits the typical dorne look. said he had dark but greying hair which oscar issac has. he would also fit a good roll similar to ned of them putting a very recognizable actor in a very prominent roll just to end up for them to die allowing for the story to continue but having a big impactful moment for the most likely less known actors playing dunk, egg, maekar, etc who continues to be referenced later in the whole maekar kinslayer thing or when there's the plague and drought everyone being like baelor and daeron wouldn't have let this happen.

I'm hoping they'll keep the humour from the books. GoT had its moments, specially with Tyrion, but when I tell my non bookreader friends that GRRM is actually great at humour as well, they often doubt me because GoT is notorious for it's gloominess and absolute drama.
