Sitting in my room in Sargodha during winter of 1982 watching this match. My parents were with me.... Beautiful memories.
Same I was also in sargodha at that time in Fedrel govt school. Wow what a memories that were.
Vishwanath had nightmares after this dismissal. Imran ended his career.
The dismissal was wrong judgement from Vishwanath rather than Imran picking him
Man Vishwanath was already past his prime, No doubt Imran Khan he was more than qualified to trouble even the best batsman during that time.

Watch an insanely biased umpiring in the 1986-87 match in Bangalore and India still lost it. 80s and 90s Pakistani team was too good. BTW IK was the one who introduced neutral umpiring.

I was in 9th class when I saw this wonderful bowling and famous second spell of IK was considered always fantastic ... change the entire bowling style of Fast Bowlers...
IK bowling action was more beautiful and effective than his contemporaries Bob Walis, Denis Lilie, Jeff Thomson, Michel Holding, etc
Wonderful vedio uploaded...I was looking for...after this series IK gets unfit for 3 years. Otherwise, his bowling tally maybe around 500 wickets at his retirement...

now i turned to 45+ . May ALLAH Grant me HIS forgiveness here and hereafter.
Still vividly remember this incredible spell. Imran too 11 wickets in this match. I was 12 years old then .In this entire series Imran took 40 wickets and won three matches single handedly.

@@benjaminabraham3506 it was reverse swing, some doubt in my mind. why ball swinging after drink or after any other break. from no swing to suddenly ball was swinging like banana angle. some thing wrong in those days. now why Pakistani bowler did not reverse swinging the ball. in those days no powerfull camera, no third umpire, no hawk's eye, no match refree. Pakistan did every thing to won a match.

Lol blatant bowl tempering on show.. Without Imran and ball tempering Pakistan were a rubbish team whereas India on the other hand beat eng in England and won overseas in West Indies.
Bringing back memories of my childhood, Imran at his best. We were routed and except Mohinder Amarnath (and to some extent Gavaskar and Kapil), everyone were at a loss against this devastating attack. Over the years, grew a fan of Imran, Imran bowling to Gavaskar another legend is etched in my memory for ever.

Ik introduced Neutral Umpires in World Cricket in year 1985, When match was in Pakistan Imran called Indian Umpires & when match was in India he called English Umpires & once Srikanth was unhappy over Umpire's decision IK called him back & then on very first ball he was caught behind & crying to go back pavilion Indian Umpires gave wrong decisions Gavasker was dismissed many times by Ik but Indian Umpires cheated.

Yes, it was a lovely winter afternoon and Karachites had little idea that a future Prime Minister will be spearheading both an on- field, and a 'moral' victory against India. It's simply a reincarnation of sorts when I get to see these recorded pieces of history that fill my chest with both pride and humility. We had a black and white television set at home, but that didn't take anything away from the value that was being delivered. I was 25 then, and still wonder whether time has stood still?

worst umpiring by pakistan - Mohinder amarnath clearly not out according rules existed in that era.. That was the turning point of the match. Had Mohinder given a fair play . he could have stitched a partnership with vengsarkar to save the test match

Before this particular series most Pakistani boys wanted to be Batsmen. After this series alot of them wanted to be Fast Bowlers. Imran Khan absolutely blew away the Star Studded Indian Batting Line Up. Indian Batting had very capable Batsmen like Gavaskar, Vengsarkar, Vishwanath Sandip Patel, Mohindar Amarnath plus Kapil Dev and Madhan Lal.

poor show by Indians, especially vishvanath who played some valuable innings earlier in his career, was very very inconsistent, unreliable and irresponsible at later stage. Those days, only gavaskar, mohinder, vengsarkar used to score some runs.
