His name is habib mohebian amazing singer songwriter and guitarist sadly no longer with us passed away few years ago had a very long career and towards the end was able to come back to Iran some of his famous songs include: shahla, madar, kavir bavar, nafas and bezan baran
This song was sung by Habib more than forty-four years ago and was one of the most popular songs among the Iranian people.
God bless him.
His voice is so beautiful and effortless. He doesn't need to push the voice out of his mouth, the voice is incredible. At his funeral people sang this song for him. May rest in peace

I would say Habib has such a calm but powerful and agree with other comment saying his voice is effortless , as much as Ebi has a lot of voice but he also shouts to go louder &more powefull , where is habib is effortlessly powerful, he can just stand there and hit the high note , i think he is more a well respected singer like his songs are so meaningful, like it has a class in some way !

The singer is Habib and the song name means "the lonely man of the night".
I absolutely love Sandy's comment "Old does not mean Bad"; how true that is. And I don't just mean it in this case only. In the past year or so I have discovered and followed Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens, and have ordered his records in Vinyl format that were written and performed in the 60's, and re-introduced with modern twist. Just as you guys are doing, performances should be judged within a context. In the 70's in Iran if a child could buy/own a vinyl record he/she was a very lucky sod indeed. In other words, artists did not elevate to the top that easily. Then, there were no Simon Cowells where they could hand paint a sparrow and sell it on as a vintage Parrot.

Q. Why do you use the flag of a regime

originated from 2 of 7 mysterious stages of purity in “Mitrā/Mehr”-ism

After 1979, Khomeini - the founder of the Islamic-regime -
ordered the red emblem of “Allāh”/Muslim’s God
(a.k.a. “Crab/Sikh” sign by ordinary Iranians) to be replaced,
& also adding the Arabic phrase “Allāh-o Akbar”, repeatedly,
without asking the people, like many other things
(“Allāh-o Akbar” literally means:
“Allāh is bigger” [than other idols in Kaaba],
not, “Allāh is the greatest” as is hypocritically said to the Westerners)
So, while the common language in Iran is “Persian/Fārsi/Pārsi”,
post-1979 Iran became the only country on earth
with a flag in another language ‼
Something that an occupying force does, as they truly are in essence
Using the Islamic-Regime’s “Crab” flag for Iran, is kinda like
using the “Nazi” flag of Adolf Hitler’s slaughterous regime for Germany
Anyway, you can ignore the flag (Lion and Sun)
during which (the pre-1979 Shah’s era), the arts flourished
but you can’t relate many lifelong banned artists - specially women -
with a falsely-representing-flag that has banned/jailed/exiled/murdered them

For an Iranian, seeing the “Crab” sign beside the pictures of
Siavash Ghomayshi, Ebi, Dariush Eghbali, Faramarz Aslani, Hayedeh & Googoosh
with many anti-regime songs from each, is a joke,

all are deprived of returning to Iran,

When Arash sang for the World Cup,
he announced a contest for music video makers
In one of those videos, there was a “Crab” sign
which received widespread negative feedback from the Iranians
Now, you even can’t find that shitty video in his own YT! channel
Instead, you’ll find these clips
with the three colors of green, white, and red
and the “IRAN” phrase in the middle,
without “Crab” or any Arabic phrases

Look how many of your Iranian users use the “Crab” icon
while there is no “Lion and Sun” option to use ?
In any sporting event, the biggest concern of the regime is,
1) to distribute the “Crab” flag among spectators
2) to prevent the “Lion and Sun” from entering the stadium
3) to censor the TV coverage of Iranian unveiled women at the arena
not the national team’s victory in the match
At the 2006 World Cup in Germany,
the regime distributed white T-shirts to spectators
and clad the players with non-white to make the Iranian spectators
with the “Lion and Sun” flags unidentifiable to cameras
In many matches, the “Lion and Sun” is banned upon the regime’s request
Especially at the 2018 World Cup in Russia,
as a close ally of the Mullahs, a big ban imposed
