- Eric Gaines was an unranked senior this season at Lithonia High School in Atlanta, GA. He blew up after dropping 38 points on nationally ranked Grayson High School. Since that game he picked up multiple high major offers but committed to LSU. What do you think about the Ja Morant comparison?

@@duke9849 There are always exceptions but by rule they generally have injury plagued careers which is why it often gets flagged by scouts. It's just like football-- Your body has to be able to endure taking beatings. As you move up levels the players get faster, stronger, and hungrier for success.
@@duke9849 I just looked at his scouting report out of curiosity and one of the things it says is "Extremely physically immature". Which means that it was a good critique. The reason it is important is bc if he doesn't get bigger (which is tough for some guys) on the next level despite his skill-set he's more likely to struggle and be at a greater risk for injury.

I like the kid man but I see one problem and that's his position. He has the skills easily to be a 2 but I worry about him possibly being too score to play the 1, however this is a small sample size so I def think he could be your second rotation point guard and your starting shooting guard
There aren't really any true 1's anymore. Everybody is all about the scoring nowadays unfortunately. The game has changed.

Gaines plays for UAB now after leaving LSU via the transfer portal. Watched him play last night. He has all the physical gifts you could hope for, but doesn't really hustle. He takes way too many bad shots. Also too small for the league, imo.
