I was born and raised in North Carolina, and getting into UNC is difficult as an in-state student (approx. 48% acceptance rate in EA, and in years past they were rejecting anyone that wasn't in the top 5). There were many people at my school who have good grades and extracurriculars that got rejected from UNC and were absolutely crushed by it. If you're out of state, you basically need to be ivy-league material to have a shot. Luckily, you have a lot of other excellent schools to choose from so good luck!
