i went in with 0 expectations since the last few movies were mediocre, but this one blew me away.i agree with you that it doesn't leave a lasting impression like Drishyam but me being a huge fan of Classics like Rear window,Lives of others,Conversation,Disturbia etc..i loved this movie especially since the protagonist is a Woman & the overall theme is Women's Shakti.Jai Maa 🙏❤️🔥✨️
Calling this a tribute to Hitchcock would be a bit too much. Sounds more like a PR stunt. Nazriya looks out of the kitchen window to observe things like Jimmy Stewart does in “The Rear Window”. Thats pretty much it for the tribute.
I respect your opinion It's a suspense drama not a thriller film there is a difference Also now days in social media if you talk about a film people have expectations will be high and when you watch it people feel it is overrated and you can't control it Lot of dark thrillers have come in Malayalam so a fast paced light heated one is a good take especially after the release of kish kinda kandam which was dark Director wanted a homepage for Hitchcock films Considering the cast it's the best commercial version of the film
There's 2 ways of thinking about it: 1) The darkness of the reveal didn't blend with the lighter comedy, or 2) The darkness of the reveal is more shocking because the lighter comedy made it more unexpected Excellent writing, acting, bgm...Remember, Malayalam movies are usually 2 - 2.5 hrs, but they are not padded with song and dance numbers, so everything goes into the storytelling. The lizard scene was hilarious.
Agree with you.. the movie was not bad.. but the movie could have been more gripping.. the suspense which was good, didn’t have much impact because the execution of the plot was lousy.
Usually i watch after you suggest, but this time i watched before you xD Tbh i liked it and the ending suspense was amazing. Also nazriya was very good.
Years ago, when you reviewed a bunch of old Malayalam films, you forgot to review Sandesam. You can’t miss that film. Pls make a review on this masterpiece
Fully agree with you, Nona. The storyline meanders, failing to build tension or suspense. The characters are underdeveloped, making it difficult for audiences to connect with them on an emotional level. The dialogue often feels forced, and the interactions between characters lack authenticity. This is surely a substandard Malayalam movie, compared to many other recent releases
This is an honest review and I felt the same! I would like to have seen some more layers to how the whole plot unravels! Nevertheless and a very nice watch
The way Nazriya's character deduced that old lady doesnt have Alzheimer's is not convincing. They could have shown somebody close to her having Alzheimer's, then she would know.
It is overhyped, obviously to bring Nazria back! The movie is entertaining to some extent and was able to hold on to the element of suspense for a while. The final scene of the movie with Nazria is a joke; better luck next time to the trio of Nazria, the writer and the director!
The amount of plot armour Nazriya has in this film is unreal 😅 After a point of time it feels like Nazriya might bw the reincarnation of Sherlock Holmes considering how quickly she deduces shit from the most vague and minute details 🙌 But still enjoyed the film especially the screenplay is lit.
Many things in the movie were not convincing:- 1- How did Priya get a voice note from Diana saying she’s busy, when her phone was with Manuel? (Ok for argument sake may be Manuel forwarded the voice note) 2- There was nothing visibly doubtful about Ammachi’s actions and for Priya to say she doesn’t think Ammachi has Alzheimer’s. She’s not a doctor to say that just by looking at someone. Was not convincing at all. 3- Can someone explain what Siddharth Bharathans car hitting Priya’s car scene means? 4- The reason (Honour Killing) for the old lady to murder her daughter is quite lame is this day and age to be honest. First of all, she lives in New Zealand far away from the family, she could have very well just disowned the daughter than to kill her.
Honour killing is a very much common case in india if you do a google search you will get to know. It even happened a few months back in Kerala this year. When you look at the honour killing rates in India it will be shocking. I am not a psychology student or I don't have any background about it. But still i do a lot of research about various psychological disorders. I am a person who is very curious about it. So I was able to relate to the lead character. The first point you said was correct. Even I also thought it as a mistake and I am waiting for ott release to make sure about it. Finally don't spoil the suspense to people who didn't watch the movie yet. 😅
1st point is true.....could have shown at last basil forwarding the msg . But other points are true to the potential of the movie. 2nd and 4th are good logic makers put, 3rd point was co incident, nazriya car was damaged by Sidharth earlier even before meeting them and she doesn't he was the one. Last she hit him with her car in the climax which again co incidentally puts karma to sidharth (who damaged her car).
Very well analysed. Yes, even though I enjoyed the movie, looking back, I feel it was too dark for the earlier comedy around it. Also, SPOILER ALERT.... They show Nazariya messaging Diana who she thinks is back in NewZealand. That ends with Diana sending an audio message saying she's got caught up in something, so she will connect later. How's that possible? The only explanation is if Basil forwarded an earlier recorded audio message. Right?
@@NonaPrince Or there are apps which can convert a male voice into a female voice. Basil must have used one such app. There's one Malayalam film which uses this extensively.
No, the first time she did reach newzealand. Second time,.she does come back to India which is when she is killed. But they don't really show that. That's the problem with the movie. Certain things weren't explained properly even after they reveal the twist. The reason they didn't kill her first time was kind of rationalized in a passing manner. They mention that only if she comes and goes normally once will the town people not suspect that things are normal with her. @nona prince

this movie lies between good-excellent...its a simple movie with a fresh-shocking execution, but not out of the world...Nazriya‘s performance was 🔥...
This movie is a tribute to the Master Class Director Alfred Hitchcock 👍🏻 Makers have confirmed it👍🏻

But it's morally better than killing 100 brothers for a piece of land
