She said something very true: by enforcing traffic laws, you often prevent other crimes. Because almost every crime will involve vehicles to leave the scene, by stopping speeders, cars that change lanes without signals, not wearing seatbelts, running stop signs having no insurance, having no license or suspended/revoked license...these are all common traits of those who don't like to conform to rules/laws that society has in place for everyone's sake. After 10 pm, seems like anyone stopped for these "minor" offenses .... one out of 3 traffic stops will end up with that driver going to jail. Again, in our society, almost every criminal is out here using a vehicle.
