ABABEKEZELI Ababekezeli music band was founded in Lindelani 1992 by Youth then members with intention to sing a GENRE called Mbaqanga / Mbhaqanga. Members have come and gone bu the lead vocalist member - Sphiwe Zakwe still stand with the band hiring new , fresh talent. thus the band still lives to-date. The Band has recorded five albums, after playing live only for years without a recording winning its first price Award in a multi genres competition in Newlands west, and only in year 2000 the first album titled " NGIZWANA NEZIMPANDLA " was recorded. In 2006 the second album titled " AMAPHUTHA " was recorded , and the album was nominated into the " CELEBRATE DURBAN AWARDS " also multi Genre - the same year 2006 and won the first price. In 2011 we recorded the third album titled " IZITHA ZAMI " at a big studio in Johanesburgh. The album was nominated in 2011 SATMA Awards MBAQANGA GENRE ONLY and won the first price. Then again nominated in 2012 SAVA awards , Mbaqanga genre only and won the first price. In 2013 we recorded album titled " UMSHADO " and we were nominated for SATMA again in 2013 but we did not win. in 2018 we recorded album titled Sipheth' Iminyovu. The album was nominated also into SATMA awards and won again in 2018 Mbaqanga genre category and won the first price. In 2020 another album has been recorded titled Amaxoki , which is doing very well also in the market, also a second dvd has been released also titled Amaxoki music is available from all online stores.
