This and Crazy In Love are some of the best songs of the 2000s. Both are produced by Rich Harrison. But if I had to choose between them, I'd go with this due to it's urgent, fidgety melody especially THAT CHORUS. This had the misfortune of being released in 2005 when We Belong Together also came out, which it lost a Grammy to. Also, her name is pronounced /ey-me-ree/. She's half black, half Korean. Toni has a track with this production - it was released but has no video - it's called TAKE THIS RING. Also produced by Rich.

This song is so fire!!! I still keep it in the rotation, and her first album(which I saw you react to the single before watching this one), is one of those classic albums where every song hits, such a good album.
She is korean/blk. From the DC area where gogo music is awesome. An army brat, her 1st album "ALL I HAVE" debuted in 2002. Her 1st single, "why dont we fall in love" was a hit. Check that out... 1 thing happen to be the single for her 2nd album TOUCH and also was featured in the romantic comedy film HITCH w/ Will Smith. She has released several albums and was a prominent female artist...Some compare Beyonce and her and claim Beyonce stole some of Amerie's swag in 2003 when she launched as a solo act. ANyway... check out more songs from her! Amerie is like a mix of aaliyah & Mary J BLige!
Shathana Rajeshwaran you know they want their faves to be Beys influence so bad. that girl was singing traditional r&b by the influence of destinys child. it’s really the opposite that girl stole more from Bey than the opposite but because she’s a flop now she’s a victim and it’s easier to root for the victim and make the non victim seem like the bad guy.
Amerie debut album was in 2002. Her producer RICH HARRISON produced alot of her sound. Bey recruited RICH in 2003 and together made CRAZY IN LOVE. For the record.. Im a huge fan of both. I can open up a bestbuy with all the cds i own...my room was spotify before spotify. I love all artists from michael Jackson to justin Timberlake... I was not trying to create divide.... There are shared influences....and i appreciate both amerie and beyonce. Just giving you facts mixed with opinion!
Keith Johnson Yes but Amerie’s debut album didn’t have the GoGo high percussion sound that rich produced for both Amerie and Beyonce later. He produced on Amerie’s first album but that album didn’t have the go go sound, Amerie didn’t like it at first and didn’t think it would sell well. Rich did pitch that sound to Amerie but Amerie rejected it. He then pitched it to Beyonce who also was unsure about the sound but then decided to trust him and released Crazy in Love. But after Beyonce came out with Crazy in Love that’s when Amerie decided to dabble in GoGo Music. Rich made that sound on his own and Beyoncé was the one who took a chance with it. So the narrative that Beyoncé stole Amerie’s sound is incorrect. Rich has produced several different sounds for Amerie but she didn’t have GoGo on her first album
The music for this track or sound is indicative of the DC, Maryland area called Go-Go music. Beyonce referenced this sound in her performance at Coachella/Beychella
Every reaction you had during this video is an absolute truth. Yeah it went hard like that . Yes she did that. The look? The beat? The nerve and audacity? Yessir 🎉
fun fact the producer of this song (Rich Harrison) also produced beyonce's crazy in love, j-lo's get right, usher's ride, amongst others with the same percussive vibes.
Glad you got to her. Next to Mary Blige, she's my favorite vocalist of all time. Ever since I heard and watched the video to her song, "Why Don't We Fall In Love" (the 1st track in her 1st Album) I instantly fell for her and her talent. One of her parents is Korean and the other is Black. She's a graduate with a Bachelors degree in English. This song is off her second Album and there's a remix to it featuring Eve and it has a video as well. She doesn't get the credit she deserves, she's so amazing with the vocals and she has many incredible songs too like "Talkin' To Me" "Why R U" "Got To Be There" and a ton of others. She has amazing features in other people's songs like Nas' - "Rule", LL Cool J - "Paradise" You can't go wrong with Amerie in your ear.
It's has elements of Go-Go music. Go-Go music is a sound that Chuck Brown created back in the 70's. "Bustin' Loose" was one of his popular songs. The Go-Go sound is mostly popular in Washington D.C. This song was produced by Rich Harrison. He also produced Beyonce's "Crazy In Love"
Amerie is one of my FAVORITE artists of all time. Her harmonies are intricate, haunting and beautiful. She also has a YT channel!!! And PLEASE, if you have not, check out her Because I Love it cd. That's all I'm gonna say.

Crazy in Love crafted the blueprint for this song and Get Right by JLo. Everyone wanted this sound between 2003-2006. Toni Braxton even copied it with "Take this Ring".

Jack dancing in the car is always the best thing ever!
Aaahhhhahahahahaha! @4:16 Jack "sees them little pancakes"... I literally just got up of the floor! 😆😆😆
Very underrated singer
That's that good D.C. Go-Go music beat and I LOVE it!!! This is one of my all time fav songs glad you finally discovered it! 😏
This song is so fire!!! I still keep it in the rotation, and her first album(which I saw you react to the single before watching this one), is one of those classic albums where every song hits, such a good album.
I love this girl do much! I was so disappointed that she was not made into a bigger star!
Crazy in love had the go go sound before 1 thing, so how did Beyonce steal from her?
Shathana Rajeshwaran you know they want their faves to be Beys influence so bad. that girl was singing traditional r&b by the influence of destinys child. it’s really the opposite that girl stole more from Bey than the opposite but because she’s a flop now she’s a victim and it’s easier to root for the victim and make the non victim seem like the bad guy.
also a mix of beyonce considering how much amerie stole from her!
This is one of the songs on my regular playlist. I love this song. It really is fire. The natural percussion beats are everything. Great choice, Jack.
I remember when I was younger my throat swelled up coz I was trying to sing this song
😂😂😂😂

Every reaction you had during this video is an absolute truth. Yeah it went hard like that . Yes she did that. The look? The beat? The nerve and audacity? Yessir 🎉
React to Amerie- I just died, my favorite song by her
Yes!!!
Reppin Washington DC AKa chocolate city and yes gogo is our music, love your reactions❤️
Great reaction video! I love her personality and her music as well❣️
Amerie- Why Don't We Fall In Love, Talkin To Me, Touch, I Just Died , More Than Love ft Fabulous etc etc
Def gained a subscriber. Classic early-mid 00s R&B. And you’re super funny haha
fun fact the producer of this song (Rich Harrison) also produced beyonce's crazy in love, j-lo's get right, usher's ride, amongst others with the same percussive vibes.
BIG UP WASHINGTON DC!!!..GO-GO. R.I.P TO THE GODFATHER OF GO-GO CHUCK BROWN.
Listen to Amerie- I Just Died, All I Need, All I Have
The beat/instrumental is Influenced by Washington DC Style music called GO-GO.
Any Amerie is dope, especially her first album.
Yesss I went to high school with her Lil sister 😻🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love amerie’s music
Amerie is one of my FAVORITE artists of all time. Her harmonies are intricate, haunting and beautiful.
She also has a YT channel!!!
And PLEASE, if you have not, check out her Because I Love it cd. That's all I'm gonna say.
So glad you got to this one. This is one of those songs that once you hear it it stays in your mind and you're singing it all day long. 🙂😍You should watch her live performance of this song. 2005 World Music Awards. Its so good.
Please react to Camp Lo "Luchini" and " Coolie High" one of the most underated rap duo's.ever.
Yep Beyoncé actually used her (Amerie’s) producer for the Crazy in Love song to give her the same sound that he used for Amerie.
Yaaaas! High School memories right here! The "tramp stamp" was a shout out to her heritage, it's her name in Korean script.
This is one of my favorite songs ever! This song is fire! You can't help it but dance to this bop! I love!
Amarie's has some of the sexiest legs. 💯
Yup
Amii is in my top 5, so underrated and so many bit her style. She still drops dope music. Her 4am Mulholland drive and after 4am series she dropped a couple years ago is amazing!
Crazy in Love crafted the blueprint for this song and Get Right by JLo. Everyone wanted this sound between 2003-2006. Toni Braxton even copied it with "Take this Ring".
More summer anthems, Jack!
