To me it feels like over the last few years Samsung has lost its character and creative touch, being a user that has enjoyed both apple and Samsung products, Samsung for a long time would make grand strides with each new release like the galaxy s9 and s10 for example feeling so exiting. Apple has established through its history that it would retain a similar design language sometimes for several generations, again this continues and the 16 feels a little flat but i wasn't too surprised. Yet i am surprised at the dark age of complacency from Samsung not being able to reinvent themselves and instead now making earbuds absolutely identical to air pods and for years taking away features that had made them special like SD card support and the headphone jack, making fun of apple for not giving a charger in the box and then immediately after doing the same as apple. I simply want both of them to feel innovative again but for that also to be in their own special ways, and that includes for Samsung to stop being a sheep.
I think you state a few contradictions specially with apple, you complain about lack of innovation then say the vision pro is wrong because there is no market. It is hard to innovate in the Smartphone market as this business has already matured. At this point we will only have the law of diminishing returns: incremental improvements of the current tech. Wait, didn’t they use that same body/frame/shell introduced on iPhone 6 on 6 (‘14), 6S (‘15), 7 (‘16), & 8 (‘17)? Because the X, XS & 11 were all based off of the same general body as the X. I see people try and count the 11 Pro as the start of this chain of “it’s the same design” argument regarding the similarity to the iPhones Pro 11-16, but the current squared off flat frame design really debuted on the iPhone 12 Pro, meaning the 11 Pro Max was the last version of the X/XS design, meaning the 16 Pro shell use goes back to 12 Pro. In essence, since it’s the primary flagship, it’s currently in the running as the longest design 2020-current for Apple’s main flagship series of devices although in terms of sheer length of time a shell has been used continuously, that goes to the current SE which now today can be traced back to 2014, making it a decade old design 😮
ye people need to stop expecting big changes. The only reason companies keep making new phones each year is because they know they make money out of it. People need to learn to wait to buy an older model if they can't afford it.
I agree no need changing design every year just to make it "innovate". Phone is just a tool for communication. Stop being slave to gadget. @@MadeByCrisYT
For me personally, i think these 3 major companies are not failing to innovate, they are actually excelling in AI technology, Artificial intelligence is a branch of technology thats usually considered one of the hardest to get right because of many factors, and so far, Apple intelligence, google gemini AI and samsung AI are all doing quite good as artificial intelligence on phones, I think the reason why people say they arent innovating anymore is most likely because these comapnies are only doing software related updates instead of creating some new flashy design or a new product line.
I'm not convinced they're innovating with AI either. Samsung is tapping into Google's AI. Apple Intelligence apparently won't be out until next year, and Google is way behind OpenAI. I've been following the AI space closely, and the innovation isn't there for these three companies. To give you an example: Google, the world's search engine, wasn't even able to make something remotely close to Perplexity, which made search "cool" and efficient.
Samsung has fast chargers.I mean if you want a 60 watt charger and expect to have a longer battery life span then you are a clown!.....if you want rapid fast charging then do yourself a favor and buy those chinese brands but be ready to replace your battery more often!
The Samsung Ultra camera setup design on the back of the phones look so CREEPY to me lol! They look like some form of skin bumps from an illness or something lol! I feel like that design should be SCRAPPED ASAP!
Innovation is also about creating new things. For example, the iPhone created a completely new industry. Same goes with the iTunes Store or App Store. THERE is where innovation comes in.
The slab phone model has already reached its peak. The only things they can do with slab phone models is to create sliding or bending screens. What really needs to happen is for a NEW form-factor to be introduced (which will be AR & VR glasses) Tim Cook tried to innovate with the Apple Vision Pro, but obviously he failed tremendously. And the reason why the Vision Pro failed is because no one wants to pay over $3K for a spatial computing device that they can’t share with other people. Because when you’re wearing a Vision Pro, you’re the only person who can enjoy the experience. Eventually Samsung & Google will start to mass produce their own versions of AR & VR headsets But the overall bottomline to all of this is that we’re almost at the point where viewing content on a screen will become obsolete
I really miss the small form factor of the 12 & 13 mini, or just when phones were a bit more narrow. Unfortunately we're a very small minority 😭 I'll be trying out the Z Flip 6 soon for this very reason. It's funny because I care a lot about great cameras & zoom lenses, and I don't deny Apple reigns here. But I can't justify a ~$1300 price tag (for ample storage) for a design that isn't 100% perfect for me, when others are similarly imperfect for ~$800. Do you personally see remaining opportunities for innovation with phones? S24 Ultras / 16 Pros are approaching low-mid laptop performance, so it seems like the real next frontier is who can make a full laptop replacement, that connects to a keyboard / monitor / etc. E.g., running Visual Studio Code & Photoshop. Obv still 3-5 years away. Thanks for the thoughts
not true at all. Samsung din't invent the folding phone. They are just the first big company to bring it to the market. Apple either will never make it because they dont see it as valuable or they wait until the tech is good enough for them. And this is just an example. Also Apple only makes smart devices and there is nothing wrong with it. Samsung makes all kind of products and somehow apple is still bigger than them whahahah. Google is just big bcs they are good in what we all use. AKA search engine, maps,..

NOTE: This list is actually 4x longer in length but I stopped here just to give you an idea. Maybe you're just not paying attention and want form factors and features to change just for the sake of changing, and it you get butthurt just because the phone didn't change its looks to make everyone with last year's phone feel "so last year". Maybe you want the OS menus and UI to totally changed so that users who already mastered them will be confused and have to relearn how everything works. OR, maybe you're just ignorant, don't own any Apple products, and look for videos to feed your jealous need to be a hater.
How? Apple is not lagging behind samsung and google in terms of innovations, all of the companies are focusing on AI technology and Apple intelligence is suprisingly good compared to google’s gemini AI, and when it comes to their software, if your gonna say samsung is innovative because more features, well your wrong, its not innovation to add software features thats easily applied, all phone companies nowadays are only doing software related updates yearly for their phones, so to say apple is the only one that’s not innovating is fairly unfair considering google and samsung are doing the same yearly updates as apple
I think all OEMs can learn from each other. Apple should explore folding and flip phones, as well as other hardware innovations that their competitors are doing. That said, I think other OEMs can learn from Apple in terms of how well their product line works together. My phone, iPad, and MacBook all syncing together is just magic, and if other OEMs can do this with their existing hardware, it would be a very compelling proposition for me to leave Apple. However, I have to say that as a PC gamer and someone who loves to tinker on that, for reliability, nothing comes close to the MacBook for me. I’ve had tons of shit laptops in the past and I feel like I can get a solid decade out of my MacBook for school and work.
Well maybe we have phones that can do about everything someone could expect from a phone. At one point innovation plateaus for a while. If it all works don’t fix it.
You are not wrong at all and we are not all people who are into camera man just like women's on mirror. For women yes is good, what about a man the story will be different but consider everyone
One thing i can agree on, Samsung isnt afraid to try new things & see how people feels about it. Foldables are great, but the only downside, is the crease. Apple users laugh & talk about the foldables, but i guarantee, as soon as apple make one, they gonna swear & act like, apple did it first. I got friends that always said, they didnt care how android let you design & make the phone the way you want & now, since ios users can do it now, they talking about, its the best thing ever.
they did the same things with meta quest people laughed at them when they released the meta quest 3 but when apple released it they were all praising it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

it aint that simple. And if they can do it with new tech they probably wait so they gain more money. If they only increase the battery by an hour they have a reason to keep you buying a new phone. At one point that new battery tech i forgot its name will be good enough for companies to incorperate

People used to do the same things a century ago, but we now have far more tools and concepts at our disposal. I believe any company can attempt to release an utterly bizarre sci-fi product that people won’t understand how to use. However, as the video suggests, it’s because people eat well what they’re already given. If we collectively stopped buying iPhones and boycotted any corporation, which is within our power as individuals, they would provide us with whatever we desire to remain financially stable. I have noticed that the time it takes to satisfy my inner child futuristic needs is about every 5-10 years.
You can innovate different phones or make a stable product , well Apple sheep want , classic phones with new cameras and better iOS software , plus foldable phones are dumb and gimmicky, i am content with my yearly upgrades
These companies can innovate BUT there really is not many ways that makes sense to make a phone. For starters it has to be used by a human with two hands so now we just restricted many other shapes. Apple will never make a half bake product and I think you should know that with your experience. Foldable phone screen suck right now so be honest. The physical shape is not all the NEW things Apple brings to the table. Security and stability are amazing on Apple. Your just spoiled when it come down to it…
100% agree. China is where all the smartphone innovation is now because the market there is extremely competitive. The western markets are stagnant and damn near monopoly territory
What do you expect your phone to make pancakes... There's only so much you can change on a small rectangle device with rounded corners that fits in your pocket!
The only thing these companies need to innovate is a battery life that’ll last for at least a week without charging. Phones are almost so perfect at this point.

I'm personally giving the all-around cool 😎 phones of the year award in no particular order too SONY, PIXEL, and OnePlus and once again their not perfect RIGS either and have flaws as well but at least their functionality and usability is really fun too use at least I think so in comparison too Samsung and IPhone which again are both very reliable devices their just not as fun too use in my opinion but hey you must go with what you personally prefer at the end of the day...
OnePlus is very interesting
@imluctor5997 thanks for stating the obvious. Tell us something we don't already know other then iPhone is boring AF 😴
Good design can last for years. No need changing every year to “innovate”.
It's not a Porsche 911
ye people need to stop expecting big changes.
At this age both apple and Samsung don't have fast charger 😢😢😢
Google too :')
😂
Innovation is about solving problems, what problems apart from battery that needs solving ? 🤔
Innovation is also about creating new things. For example, the iPhone created a completely new industry. Same goes with the iTunes Store or App Store. THERE is where innovation comes in.
That’s what I’m saying. If any of these companies can make a battery that lasts for a week or more would be extremely huge!!
The slab phone model has already reached its peak. The only things they can do with slab phone models is to create sliding or bending screens.
What really needs to happen is for a NEW form-factor to be introduced (which will be AR & VR glasses)
Tim Cook tried to innovate with the Apple Vision Pro, but obviously he failed tremendously. And the reason why the Vision Pro failed is because no one wants to pay over $3K for a spatial computing device that they can’t share with other people. Because when you’re wearing a Vision Pro, you’re the only person who can enjoy the experience.
Eventually Samsung & Google will start to mass produce their own versions of AR & VR headsets
But the overall bottomline to all of this is that we’re almost at the point where viewing content on a screen will become obsolete
Exactly 💯
Pixel is the next iphone
(I mean the next big thing)
Make a video on Apple Vision Pro, please!
Apple still makes well-made products
That’s just where I stand
Quality is of course not the issue here :)
Great video! Support!!
Thank you 👍
Apples the only one out of those three that's not innovating
Yup Samsung, Google, and numerous other cell phone manufacturers that are heavily underrated are making strides in improving their device's...
not true at all.
Best most durable screen on a smartphone ever. Best CPU benchmark on a smartphone ever. Best drop protection on a smartphone ever. Nearly 2x gain in performance per watt in a single year. Private Cloud Compute to finally give server-farm level of AI in an untracked private way, Integration of App-Intents as API layer for AI assistants, Spatial Photography, FDA certification of AirPods Pro as a hearing aid with on-device integrated audiology profiling, Sleep Apnea detection, FaceTime voicemails, Live Voicemail text monitoring, Custom user-generated emojis, Complete blocking of known trackers while web-browsing, Distraction control to "zap" any annoyances on a web-page, Math notes solves math problems algebraically and graphs and plots them, Crediting advertising links with attribution without handing over personal data and tracking, Giving a friend money by tapping the phones together, noise cancellation & streaming media adapting to instantly allow voice conversations with nearby humans, ability for users to program their own complex macros and scripts with conditional logic and APIs into other apps, automatic clean-up and straightening of handwriting in note-taking in your own personal handwriting style, ovulating and menstrual cycle tracking, automations to immediately transfer your media from one playback device to the next including your car, copy-pasting across all devices, handoff of any app and its states to any other device, automatic location and ETA sharing and 'find each other' features, immediate notifications and tracking on any airtagged device leaving its designated location or being left behind, satellite messaging when there is no nearby cell tower, location-aware translator access when in foreign countries, integration of widgets into user-codable scripts with full automator OS-level script API access.
@@eys3d358 best comment ever
Exactly 💯!
Well maybe we have phones that can do about everything someone could expect from a phone. At one point innovation plateaus for a while. If it all works don’t fix it.
Well said 👏🏾
I prefer Samsung, Google Android open ecosystem 💯
You are not wrong at all and we are not all people who are into camera man just like women's on mirror. For women yes is good, what about a man the story will be different but consider everyone
Great content. You are 100% right.
Samsung fanboy but true
I used a foldable in the past, and the crease is not a big deal, to be honest.
You say that but android users have the biggest hate to apple users about everything

I really doubt it
@@MadeByCrisYTyou doubt it ? But there’s nothing groundbreaking about this phone other than it been slim and 3 folds it’s not like Samsung or lg cannot make this …as it’s been said tons of times phone tech has peaked what else is there to innovate ..we will continue to see these incremental updates until something big comes up but till then nothing is happening,I’m not impressed .weve seen prototype rolling phone as well as multiple folds from Samsung,lg and tlc in the past
@@MadeByCrisYT it has been rumored they are prototyping foldables of apple. Apple wants to do it good so that's why they wait.

I agree in a way
@@MadeByCrisYT the 2011 nokia n8 had a 12 camer which apple still used over 10 years later. and in 2012 nokia released their 48MP super camera smartphone. apple just caught up now. idk why they handicap themselves like that.

I agree
but it's an Iphone!
This is why it needs to lead in innovation.
Samsung is always innovating!
I think so too, but if you read online, most Samsung users are upset with the company for not innovating enough 🤔
They should have made the battery that last 5 to 6 days in single charge on heavy use
it aint that simple. And if they can do it with new tech they probably wait so they gain more money. If they only increase the battery by an hour they have a reason to keep you buying a new phone. At one point that new battery tech i forgot its name will be good enough for companies to incorperate

During the presentation Face ID didn't work (for the reasons you stated), am I allowed to find it funny?
how do you really innovate anymore?
People used to do the same things a century ago, but we now have far more tools and concepts at our disposal. I believe any company can attempt to release an utterly bizarre sci-fi product that people won’t understand how to use. However, as the video suggests, it’s because people eat well what they’re already given. If we collectively stopped buying iPhones and boycotted any corporation, which is within our power as individuals, they would provide us with whatever we desire to remain financially stable.
I have noticed that the time it takes to satisfy my inner child futuristic needs is about every 5-10 years.
I think it all comes to resolving issues. Think about pain points and come up with ideas. With cash and good talent, innovation is not a problem.
You can innovate different phones or make a stable product , well Apple sheep want , classic phones with new cameras and better iOS software , plus foldable phones are dumb and gimmicky, i am content with my yearly upgrades
I don't think foldable phones are dumb, but hey to each thier own :)
Your just spoiled when it come down to it…
You underestimate how large these companies are and how easy it could be to change a design when you have hundreds of people working on something.
Try Chinese tech . You will be amazed !!!
