Where is the second video. I'm bleeding some tomorrow, good timing though. I cant believe you just posted this and I just left my buddys shop as he called me in to work on a 68 Shadow. Supposed to just look at the brakes, but on starting, the fan was hitting the shroud, so I spent today replacing all 3 engine mounts . They had completely sheared and the engine was completely skewed. Anyways, I had to explain that I needed the engine running to bleed the brakes, so that was first. Before we even started though, I told him that the first thing on an unknown car is to open the reservoir. The forward reservoir was just 2.5 inches of solid gel and the slosh plate was corroded, old hygroscopic fluid by the looks of it. Anyways, tomorrow I will try to flush it and see if I can get anywhere. I will not even know if the pumps are running if the feed is blocked so wish me luck. One good thing though, at least on his it has old master cylinder, so they wont completely unstoppable ;-)
Thanks for your great videos, you're a good teacher my friend. and this one at least got my mind ready for tomorrow, I haven't done a shadow brake job for about 4 years so thanks.

Excellent and Very informative. I bet you hear this a LOT, but did I hear you say, very faintly, at the very very end of this video, it sounded like someone asked you about the fluid, and I think your reply was, "Dot 4. I don't use Anything else..."? Is that standard Dot 4? or RR363? And, thanks for answering a question I had before delving into my long-neglected '72 Shadow... 1.5 gallons capacity, no?

You might want to wait a moment...
I'm not sure if the technique demonstrated is appropriate for early Shadows like your buddy's. I have a late '67. These cars have the master cylinder in the rat trap.

Its pretty much the same, except you do an additional standard brake bleed technique for the lower rear (on his car) bleed nipple which is controlled by the master cylinder low pressure system. The high pressure is the same. I apply the brakes by pulling on the bottom of the brake pedal where it pivots into the rat cage so I can apply the brakes while I'm under the car.

Al Silver Shadow have a master cylinder in the rat trap Silver Shadow2 has no master cylinder
a rubberball givs the brake pedal pressure felling on the remaining R-R car production in Crewe

the brakes leaking somewhere else when you have repaired a spot is most likely the high pressure finding the weakest spot if that makes sense, the pressure is 2400psi, thats a lot of pressure on lines, it all needs to be repaired
prob rust or corrosion, as for the gears, thats more difficult, there are micro switches in the steering column may not be switching, theres a servo motor on the transmission also with micro switches, or could be electrical, its a bit of diagnosing you have to do
