    Hey man, thanks for making these videos, they will eventually help so many others in time. I have the exact symptoms you have and surgery coming up next month. It’s scary, as you know. Maybe we can chat sometime

      Thanks for the comment that's nice of you. I'm doing very well, back to my normal activity. I plan on posting a 1 year anniversary update in a couple weeks with a little more detail, but overall I am very happy with how things have gone since I had the surgery.

    Hi I’m three months out now. Your videos are so helpful and reassuring. What is the brand of scar gel that you use?

    • @wojciechg792
      @wojciechg792  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I used a gel called BioCorneum Scar Treatment with SPF 30 that I bought off Amazon

    Did you have screws to hold the replacement in?

    Glad to hear you are doing well.
    Did you consider other devices besides the Medtronic prestige?
    You mentioned hockey! What has been your guidance for normal play with checking, heavy contact etc?
    Thanks for sharing

      Hey Scott, I did not choose the device per se. I asked my neurosurgeon what device he planned on using and he told me the Prestige LP. I think it comes down to what the doctor is most comfortable with using that bears the best outcome for the patient in my opinion, and I trusted his choice of device.
      As for hockey, I only play recreationally in a beginner's league, so it's a no-checking league. My doctor gave me full clearance for activity, so any contact wouldn't necessarily hurt the device, while keeping in mind that I'm still post-surgery and getting my body used to more vigorous activity. Hope that helps!

    17:51 hi did u sleep with a collar after the op

  • @grb3748
    @grb3748 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had c6-7 replaced 24hrs ago. Swallowing is painful and I can't sleep because it feels like I'm choking. I think it's an acid reflux reaction.

    • @wojciechg792
      @wojciechg792  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sorry to hear that, I hope that gets resolved soon...Be sure to drink but in small sips through the day and maybe an NSAID like Advil for the inflammation (depending on whatever other meds you're on).
      As for sleep try adding an extra pillow or two to raise your head up a bit to hopefully help decrease that feeling, and reach out to your doctor if it doesn't get better. Good luck!

    How are you doing now? I seem to have same symptoms, and constant discomfort does not go away. Were you taking any medication before surgery; if so, did you stop now?

    • @wojciechg792
      @wojciechg792  ปีที่แล้ว

      Prior to surgery I was taking a lot of gabapentin, muscle relaxants. At this point I only take Advil and Tylenol as needed for when I maybe overexert myself, or have bad posture that leads to muscle pain. Overall doing very well though, thanks for asking!

    How is the numness and tingling . Are they all gone?

    • @wojciechg792
      @wojciechg792  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Numbness is essentially gone. I still have my thumb that has a small amount of residual numbness is what I'd call it. Probably from the damage prior to surgery, but it doesn't affect me day to day.

    Chiropractor messed me up bad bad

    • @wojciechg792
      @wojciechg792  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did not have a great experience either..."adjustments" would help me be slightly looser for 15 minutes or so, but chiropractic care is not going to help with disc herniations, especially once neuropathy is present. Hope you feel better.
