Hello sir just wanted you to know I'm new to the Rc world and especially the RC boats. Anwyay about a year ago after extensive research on what boat to get, I saw your Pro Boat Reciol , fell in love that boat had to have it. So I purchased it snd got to tell you I have done a lot of upgrades not because of the design or the boat itself I just wanted to make it faster and Ofcoures I gave it a little paint job buy kept the decals on it. Anyway since having the Recoil I havr installed a Dynamite 120 amp esc added a cnc 3/ bladed prop and upgraded the motor from a 2100kv to the Dynamite 2300kv 14 pole marine motor, getting speeds in excess of 50 mph. I love this boat you did a fantastic job designing the Recoil, been having a great time upgrading it making it faster and making TH-cam videos on my channel of all the upgrades. Just wanted to give you a shout out for designing such an awsome boat, so good infact I really don't see the need for another. Your other boats are cool also but no match for the Recoil. If someone really wanted to and decided to put a monster of a motor in that thing , well that's what you would have a monster of a boat. As for me I'm happy with running 4s lipo 50+ mph is a fun and controlable speed for me. So long story short thanks!
Absolutely LOVE this boat. I am running it on 3s 5000MaH LiPo w' upgraded prop and it's performance is excellent. Great product and quality, thanks Pro Boat! :-)
Mr. Lopez I love your products I have the Recoil, the only thing you forgot to mention is the fact, when you change the coupler to the standard one, you loose the self righting abilities that the recoil is known for. You didn't mention that in your video. I had to find out the hard way, make sure you tell your listeners the negative effects they will have when they upgrade any boat, especially the Recoil. Also if you replace the esc to the Dynamite 120 amp esc you can run a bigger prop and lipo batteries ranging from 2s to 6s. Now 6s is a little to much power for the recoil unless you re _enforce the top hatch but 4s and 5s should be okay. Just FYI keep up the good work, love your products especially the boats.
I'll ask again, what about adding ballast to the opposite side to keep the self righting intact. find the difference int the 2 batteries in grams and add it...?
Have had trouble with the stock boat. Would lose connection once over 20 feet away. I see your antenna is different then mine. Did you cut the antenna cover? Currently attempting to upgrade with a better receiver. Looking for a video on that and found this video.
Sean Raven yes I had to put the Dynamite 120 amp in order to run a 4s lipo. That cost me about $ 125.00 dollars and I paid a guy $30.00 dollars to install it. Do not run 6s unless you change the EC3 connectors to ec5. I'm getting in the 50+ mph range with the 4s lipo with the 32mm 3 blade prop. The boat is plenty fast for me, 50mph is fast on water and fun. Sorry it took so long to reply I have been busy. If you have anymore ?s feel free to ask.
You only need to run the hatch tape just on the front by the pin. 50c or higher, do not buy a 30c. Why they even put a 30c in the box is beyond me. This boat does not like running a 30c pack, the low voltage will kick on and slow your boat. The longer run times can over heat your boat, Using a 50c 3000mAh pack will give you pliantly of run time without over heating the boat.

Mr. PJ Gannon if I change my ESC to the 120 and 4 cells will the self righting abilities still work properly???

Don't waste your money I have been running the 50c 5000mah lipo with stock coupler just adjust the steering, you will be fine.

That proboat recoil 26 large largest battery pack can that be a traxxas lipo obviously with adapter?
By any chance you can link the lipo mentioned? Or any lipo that fits?

Forget about the coupler don't need it, I run the 50c 5000mah lipo and have no problems just take it easy on left/port turns that's all.

Hi, This coupler pnb3308 is neraly impossilble to order :( will the new Pro Boat Motor Coupler: 5mm (Motor)/4mm (Flexshaft PRB286008) work aswell ?

what's the kV of this motor?
7 months later, it is a 2100kv
2100kv can handle 4s and 5s lipo 6s is a little to much for that boat, unless you modify the shit out of it.

Hi, what battery's fit in the recoil 17? I can't find the stock 1300mah 3s pack anywhere. What others fit?
oh no, the 26 inch version comes with a 3200mah
