This is an early entry to the Anderton's video off the year award. Absolutely outstanding interview by Lee and a great showing by Jared. What a stand up bloke indeed.
Hey everyone, thanks for tuning in to watch the Captain take a first look at Jared's new Epiphone Gold Glory Les Paul! Epiphone is due to announce this guitar later in the year but for now, we've created an email sign up so you can be the first to know when it's available! 🤘 Email Sign-Up | tinyurl.com/y3q7slsj
Met Jared at the Gibson after party at NAMM last year. He is absolutely the nicest guy in the business. Very humble. Can not wait to try this guitar!!!
Met Jared a few times here in UK at Robin2 in Bilston .. we love him there. Such a nice accommodating guy, time for everyone, photos, stories just fantastic. Many photos I've taken of him, he's a fantastic guy. Hope to see you again my man.
Jared is the nicest dude. I reviewed a show he did in Edinburgh a few years back and Saw him at the merch stand, I stupidly didn't speak to him. I no longer make that mistake. I am so glad I didn't buy an Old Glory because the Gold Glory looks even cooler!
Man...that Jared is growing on me...in all his interviews his so...excited and amped...and When he Plays he‘s in a Rush (positiv)! Humble earthed dude! Thanx to andertons 🙏🏻
I like all of the tones I am hearing here. Again, it is a combination of the guitar, pickup, amp, and the player. I do like how it cleans up at lower volumes and if you adjust that tone knob there are a lot of variations you can explore. The fact that Epiphone is making these is a great thing because real working musicians and fans can afford them. And, like Jared said himself, even if you don’t dig his vibe you can create your own with this guitar. Nothing to hide behind with one pickup so you can work on things and improve. I need to try one out. Thanks Captain and Jared!
The way Jared treated & designed Old Glory was absolutely brilliant. Lee brought up the main point that although JJN wasn't a household name, his signature was unique & people bought it bc of that. I have another Epi signature that was done in 2017 by Lee Malia. I personally grew up in the time that BMTH was writing the death core scene, so I was familiar with him myself, but also the signature RD Artisan he put out with Epi is such a killer and truly unique guitar that they sold like hot cakes while Lee Malia isn't really known by most people older than 40. They sell 2nd hand now for $1,300+ for an Indonesian made Epiphone, although they do have Gibson USA pups, even the bridge pup was designed in the Custom Shop, and its an RD modeled after a 70s Les Paul Custom Artisan so can't get one unless it's that one. It's such a great guitar, a true head turner, and can be used by any player, and that's what JJN did as well which is why Old Glory is so popular and great!
I think Jared is absolutely amazing. In amongst a difficult year, last year one of my highlights was having a private online lesson with him which was just brilliant. I just love his new signature and would absolutely love to check it out - sounds amazing.
This was a great vid on many levels, but The Captain really is an absolute joy to watch. He has really created a very attractive niche with these YT videos. CAPTAIN - you do an amazing job with your interviewing!! Great job and keep these great interviews coming!!!
You wrote a little riff?? That riff was huge! Write more of those Jared. Good luck to you in your future, what ever it brings. Great looking & sounding guitars. Bravo to you & Epiphone.
Hello Lee! With the upcoming release of the collaboration between Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen, it would be really cool to get a full length 'Captain meets Adrian Smith'! He also released his book a few months back. He's super down to earth. I'm sure if found a way to reach out to him, he'd be open to doing it!
Everyone thought I was nuts for slapping p-90’s in my les Paul’s back in the day. I’m so excited to see more and more options for that configuration! And going with the dog ear p-90 is brilliant!!
i see him before the first pandemic lockdown live in the Mühle Hünziken in Rubigen it was so amazing. i talked a little with him such a fine guy really wanted to jam with him
Hey guys! great video as always. There are a few settings on Zoom that can be tweaked in order to get rid of all the weird compression and noise cancelling. I'm more than happy to share, I'm sure it would make you and all of us super happy to be able to hear this great artists without those weird artefacts :)
I never heard of Jared but that one P90 Custom just looks stunning. It's beautiful. In eyeing up a black Old Glory ( i suppose based on a 50s goldtop Neil Young lP). Now im drewling over the Gold
Cap love your interviews, gear demos, and videos with Pete. I wish you guys were on this side of the lake. Would love to walk around Andertons\, and me you. Jared if it weren't for your Epiphone Signature, and Blackstar Amps I may not have ever heard your music, playing and singing. Brother your playing is sick and off the chart. Fingers and so much emotion in your playing! Thanks for sharing your awesome gift. Oh, and Cap your playing continues to get better & better Brother! Cheers Fellas from LA . . ( Lower Alabama ) US of A.
I Too Write With My Left Hand And Play Right Handed Guitars So I Feel It’s a Challenge With The Pick Hand But We Be Cool. 👍👍🎶🎶🎸Love The Video Guys It Rocked.
Never thought I’d buy a Epiphone~ but IMO this guitar plays just as good as this video~IMO best bang for buck~this epiphone is not just a beginner guitar,,,just sayin,,ira
Might not NEED it, but I still want a proper Gibson Custom version, with the proper nitro, proper mother of pearl etc. Flip out tuners and posilock strap buttons would be icing.
They dug the guitar because it's a great axe...I played one at Sweetwater a few months ago and I loved it...the reason it's such a great instrument is that it's just a rocknroll machine...I should have gotten one that day....now I'm going to have to wait....they are on back order for like ever..so is everything else at Sweetwater that is worth having...and you guys are going to hate me for this...I live 15 minutes from Sweetwater....🎸🎸🎸🎸
Jared is such a nice guy, met him at the middle East peace conference he was working at, he even took my wife out that night and they had such a good time she didn't get back till the next day What a guy.
Jared seems like a real stand up guy. Super talented, but so humble and full of smiles. The industry is better for having a guy like him around.
This was the perfect video to upload on a Sunday morning.
Can you imagine JJN and Chris Buck in a band together? Too much blues power to handle

Great video again Lee, thoroughly enjoy these videos.
I really feel that because he actually uses the epiphone on stage really helped the sales.
dude I'd never heard of this guy. 10 seconds into his playing, I'm a fan.
And me.
He's incredible, every note played with total conviction.
Leslie West is smiling down from the heavens. Jared James Nichols is amazing. The new model is great.

What an awesome guy and fantastic guitar player. Love his humble demeanor. Makes me love guitar playing even more.

If you ever want to get rid of that RD hit me up, but the list is long I reckon?
Epiphone is bringing the heat this year! Cheers Andertons!!
That color is so appealing. Think I might opt for one of these over a gibson jr. It's really a different looking beast.
JJN was born about 25 years later than he should've been. He would be a household name.
Man love the soul that guy plays with!
Love the dynamics that JJN gets out his guitar and amp!
The blues power thing works much better as a truss rod cover. Super cool guitars, and what a phenomenal player!
I think Jared is absolutely amazing. In amongst a difficult year, last year one of my highlights was having a private online lesson with him which was just brilliant. I just love his new signature and would absolutely love to check it out - sounds amazing.
The gold one is just perfection, great job Jared!
Jared signed my gold strat at the clinic you hosted - I’ve waited so long for Gold Glory to surface!
Awesome video guys!! Such positivity and joy! Thank you!!

I love my "Old Glory"! Can't wait to check out this gold top.. Go Blues Power!
You wrote a little riff?? That riff was huge! Write more of those Jared. Good luck to you in your future, what ever it brings. Great looking & sounding guitars. Bravo to you & Epiphone.
Jared is as nice as pie from what I have seen. Humble and a wonderful player. Really like everything I have seen of him. Nice job Lee.
Bought an old glory, ... it’s amazing!
Jared's a cool dude. Super down to earth, not pretentious at all, yet kind of over the top.
never heard of this guy but wow what a great player. thanks for this vid
Ah... Jared... one of my most favorite musicians...
Man, if that thing can stand up to JJN's playing I think it'd last forever with most other players. What a dude!
My guitars are shaking wondering which I'm going to sell for this.
Jared can make anything sound amazing. This guitar looks and sounds like a must buy can’t wait.
Phenomenal player, he has just a ridiculous amount of very nuanced control.

Love Jared-excellent inspiring player, and cool dude. Would love to try out one of these guitars.
I got up and jammed with Jared at Peach Guitars in UK. Great fun
That's such a beautiful and nice sounding guitar. I had never been drawn to a single pick up guitar but man, that's a very awesome one!
I’m not a P90, Gibson fan but when Jared plays it, I am.
Thank you JJN.
You’re the reason my strings sing.
i see him before the first pandemic lockdown live in the Mühle Hünziken in Rubigen it was so amazing. i talked a little with him such a fine guy really wanted to jam with him
Can't wait to get my hands on one of these 🤘

I’ve been after that style of guitar for years. I have an sg from the 90’s MIJ with a single p90 now.
I like the bridge. Tonally it doesn’t sound like it’s missing the neck pickup.
What incredible tone. Amazing.
I never heard of Jared but that one P90 Custom just looks stunning. It's beautiful. In eyeing up a black Old Glory ( i suppose based on a 50s goldtop Neil Young lP). Now im drewling over the Gold
What a super nice guy Jared is. Great sound and great playing as well! When are Andertons going to have the gold ones in stock? I'd love one!
Man, he is such a talented player. Really love the new finish.
His finger style picking reminds me of great SG slide player Derek Trucks.
Wow ! what a great looking goldtop.

Hell yeah. I been trying to steer away from signature guitars, but this one man. This is really really cool
I Too Write With My Left Hand And Play Right Handed Guitars So I Feel It’s a Challenge With The Pick Hand But We Be Cool. 👍👍🎶🎶🎸Love The Video Guys It Rocked.
Love this! Got excited when I saw this was a Jared James video!
Savage guitar review can watch this again and again and again. What's a serious 🪓19:58
JJN is such a cool guy. And his guitars are too.
His tone is the holy grail
Mint, love any epi videos! Good work captain 👩✈️👍💪😍
Just goes to show that the tones if used properly without pedals can be achieved.🎸
I love his playing
i really must to pick up a old glory
Never thought I’d buy a Epiphone~ but IMO this guitar plays just as good as this video~IMO best bang for buck~this epiphone is not just a beginner guitar,,,just sayin,,ira
I hear so much Leslie West in his playing.
It’s all in the hands. All the greats could play any guitar and still have their own signature tone.
More like Sold Glory. Just bought mine.
Might not NEED it, but I still want a proper Gibson Custom version, with the proper nitro, proper mother of pearl etc. Flip out tuners and posilock strap buttons would be icing.
Damn, Jared just sold me on that Epi
Thanks. This is very inspiring- I’ve never managed to make a P90 sound like that. Off to my “office’ to work on it for the rest of the afternoon...
I've seen his guitars but never heard him play....Wow this dude has got mojo for days!!!!
Any chance we could get a review of the new Epiphone ES335?
Love this Jared's playing is so good so good
Damn that thing rocks! Nice one Jared :)
What a gorgeous guitar! Love the simplicity and the understated gold color and hardware.
What’s the release date on this Epiphone?
I was just looking at this guitar!
Jared is such a nice guy, met him at the middle East peace conference he was working at, he even took my wife out that night and they had such a good time she didn't get back till the next day What a guy.
wtf
Great guy, great player!!!
Amazing, inspiring.
Have you tested the fret zealo ? I understand all the views out there but this seems to be a tool some might like. ❤️🇮🇪
Looks like helluva guitar
Channeling his inner Iommi? That riff was awesome.
Great vid. Good to be back as I had to unsubscribe for a week to get away from the Ibanez takeover, Thanx!
Stunning guitar player awesome 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🎼🎼🎼🤘🏼
Will there be preorder available? That gold old glory ❤️
I think it comes out in April
Sounds great and looks great!👍👍😎
When can we order it?
This video was just Jared offering a teaser on what's to come... Epiphone are due to unleash this guitar later in the year!
Great guitar, great player, great guy
that woman-esque tone at 13:50 yeah buddy!
Es sieht so aus, als würde sich das Epiphone-Kopfstück einer Gibson annähern. Du bist fast da, Epiphone. Versuche es weiter!
Maybe they should do a collapsable travel guitar version and call it FOLD GLORY!
Great stuff Jared. You play with your fingers but don't forget those Bluespower grimaces:)
Love the simplicity of your setup
Awesome playing
Great interview.
Is there a treble bleed circuit?
