I think it’s safe to say everything if for fan service. Yes people can develop close friendships and can be touchy off scene that’s how most close friends are.Even if they just coworkers its their job to put out what their fans like. Which is why we should never assume any actors sexuality regardless of what they play in

I realized it before but the comments really solidify that contrary to what they say, a lot of BL fans really don’t care about the objects of their admiration as people. It really is only about maintaining their fantasies. The emotional health, mental health, physical health, and spiritual health of actors be damned, as long as my fantasy 🤩 stays intact. Wow, scary!

This. I've tried arguing a few times against doing this now in the latest case with ZeeNunew, asking for people to have some patience and respect for these guys as nothing they said is /still/ a sign of an actual relationship and is more like two best friends just doing what they need to in order to be able to work and keep popularity in this industry so we should focus on supporting their individual selves and their careers instead and - I got all from death threats, to mass bullying in the comments, to at the very least being accused of being a 'hater homophobe' (lol I'm literally gay), etc. And I'm just a 'disagreeing' fan. I've seen the poor actors get so much worse from 'fans' whenever the don't 'deliver' sufficiently into what these people's fantasies consist of... (one recent example of this is poor Peat) It's honestly scary and disgusting how these people's minds work, how many of them there are and how deeply wound their weird delusions go, it makes me feel horrified and various extents of worried and sorry for every single bl actor out there, because it seems that 95% of their fans just love them for those thirsty delusional made up fantasies rather than for the shows or actors themselves.

Originally, I thought it was because of the hierarchical nature of many Asian societies, but then if you look at the BL fans in places like Japan 🇯🇵 and Taiwan 🇹🇼. They don’t seem as fanatical about the BL actors (creating ships, creating fandoms, harassing other actors, harassing people’s families, harassing other “fandoms”, etc.) as a lot of the fans in Korea 🇰🇷China 🇨🇳, and surprisingly, Thailand 🇹🇭.
this series might not be too interesting but it somehow shows the reality of y actors as for me. They need to do everything to please FC and I don't like that very well.

The fact that bl actors have to go that far as doing fan services while pretending to be their roles even out of the set is too much compelling and forceful, like they've got no their private lives and have to live by pleasing their fans. There's a point when things become overwhelming. Fans are also deeply affected as their priorities are taken away by these couples. They are fed with these services until they realise that it was all a lie when the actors move on and prosper in their career.
No need for fanservice, for real.. It doesn't add anything to the story.. I love the characters, the actors don't have to be "lovey-dovey" in real life. Just coworkers and friends, no need to pretend, moreover if they are unconfortable around e/o. And some "couple" go to long lengh just to sell themselves as sweethearts. Not fair for them and the fan of the series!
Unlike Peak, Achi is fully in character (pretense), and he's selling the service for 'perfection.'
This would become a problem in the future, no doubt. He would lost his way and self putting up with that character

Not really…fans are weird, they ship them and expect them to be lovey-dovey but if they are really dating, they won’t sell. Fans love the trill of whether are they dating or not

Some are fake however, some people are real whether it’s a fling or they end up together officially is up to them but not every single single BL is fake. A lot of the times you can tell if you just pay attention to their personal social media and not just look at edits made by TH-camrs or that companies webpage.

Blame their parents and agencies who allow it. It's so annoying the way they dress these bl actors to carry on the bottom roles for fans. The stylish will make them look so feminine with terrible clothes and makeup. Forcing them to touch every second because let's be real no friend or lover to touch their partner 24 seven. Then you have the interviewer who is gay some come onto these boys on camera all into the personal space and they have to play it out like they are fine. The Thai interviewer I have seen is the worst when it comes to this.

I was just thinking that the bl industry in Thailand to be exact dose this I only seen very little fan service done with Taiwan bls non for Korean or Japanese bls I think it is outdated as well I don’t even see regular actors in movies and series do all of this fan service I think they want Thailand to go main stream like Korea has but they are doing it with bl content instead of making idol groups because I was todays years old when I found out that bl actors do concerts and tour sing and preform like idols when and where they do that at 😅😅

Because NO fanservice is not unique to the BL industry… it is however a major marketing tool for Asian entertainment specifically same sex relationships which some see as queer baiting.

No most of the BL actors are not happy with fan service, because think about it for a second who touches their lovers every second in front of the camera or in private? No personal space in public, their stylish dress them horrible with bad makeup. Forcing the one who plays the bottom role to start dressing feminine in clothing some females will not even wear. Have some of these interviewers come onto them or in their personal space. Don't tell me some of the things I'm saying nobody has noticed. The writer and agencies tell them how to act in public for the series to get a lot of attention. Treating them like kids with no respect managers being all bodies with them some doing more than what a manager shall do. Then you have the famous BL interviewer that all touches especially if the actors are handsome get it worse. Even if some of these actors are gay don't give them the right to sexual comes onto them.

This is why it’s always so uncomfortable to watch the actors do fanservice out of their series filming. It feels like we’re objectifying them. In part its the management fault for feeding this to the fans and making them believe they’re somehow romantically involved beyond their roles. I don’t really see this shipping problem in Japanese BLs because they don’t need to go to the extreme just to promote their series. Their acting and screenplay do the parts

As far as I can see it's the attempted selling of an assumption that fantasy is real life when it very clearly isn't. Most fans DO know, understand, accept and draw the albeit sometimes very thin line between fantasy and reality.... even if sometimes they don't act like it....
