imagine if consumers actually did the proper maintenance with regular oil changes and transmission fluid changes every 30k miles instead of acting like low credit score creatures and not taking care of their vehicles?
JD POWER rates it Above Average Relability and Ward's named the engine to it's top ten made.3rd best selling SUV on earth I guess they may be doing better than you think!lmfao
Nissan invented a form of variable displacement, put it in a brand new three-cylinder, slapped a turbo on it, and not one of them asked the boss, "why couldn't we just make a hybrid with our existing NA four cylinder?"
Other than the US and Canada version, the hybrid is available. That's basically where the car is sold as X-Trail instead of Rogue. Also the current 12 inch entertainment and navigation display have been available on the X-Trail since 2022. Meanwhile, Rogue only starts to have it since this year
Nissan Rogues have excellent design, especially interior but also exterior as well. Their biggest problem is the reliability (or lack thereof) of their powertrain. Ideally, Nissan would have been better off keeping their 2.5L NA engine as their base engine, then added a turbo option (like Mazda) and also have a hybrid option. I think they would have a real sales winner if they sold a hybrid version.
The 22 Volkswagen Tiguan also has a nice interior a lot more modern too imo but I can’t disagree the rouge has a nice interior in comparison with other Japanese brands 💯
I wonder why Nissan decided to go the 3 cylinder route, when the competition offers 4 cylinder engines as an option at least. They should have kept the 2.5 4 cylinder engine, and pair it with the ZF 9 speed automatic transmission.
@Tinrs80 that's why I said "4 cylinder as an option at least". This 3 cylinder engine is currently the only engine Nissan offers in the Rogue, the Escape has an optional 2.0 turbocharged 4 cylinder engine.
If you're going to get this sh*tty SUV with a terrible CVT and stressed 3-cylinder, you may as well get one with a better warranty and buy the Mitsubishi Outlander.
I have bought the 24 Nissan Rogue SL 3 months ago and I put already 2100km and I just love mine so much. The space on the inside has more space than what my 2020 Nissan Rogue SL had and the gas mileage is way better. Very happy with mine.
I love the technology in this car. It's so easy to use, simple, and clean. Buttons everywhere they belong, and the touch screen is ONLY for cameras, navigation, and media. This is how a car should be. It's just too bad this car has such an awful powertrain, and that the exterior is such a boring car.
WARDS'S Top 10 engine made and JD Power Above Average Reliability and one of the best selling vehicles on earth seems like the experts and consumers disagree with you!!lmao
That thing’s gonna blow up one day it has the variable compression engine looks cool but it probably won’t see 100,000 miles do not buy this car. It is a lemon.
We just bought one and I’m excited to see how it holds up. With a lifetime power train warranty, I’m not worried. It would be cool if this engine, once sorted out, could be built up to produce more horsepower. Maybe the next slant six!!?? We get 34.8 mpg on average-I’m pleased. Especially since the 18 Sierra I owned needed a trans at 44000 miles-a used to tow-so anything had to be better

It’s the exact same color and trim that we picked out. Again, we’re very happy. After hearing your final portion, I can understand the idea of the reliability of the three cylinder. I assume that you’ve driven the old version four-cylinder. I was test driving both this and a Mitsubishi outlander with the old style four-cylinder and I must say driving them back to back this has so much more power and has so much more Down low grunt than the four-cylinder, that I’m willing to roll the dice on the reliability. But then I roll the dice on a 2018 GMC and found out that the transmissions are weak and that the variable displacement on demand tends to chew up lifters pretty quickly.I think if someone were to take the lifetime warranty like we did at least that confidence level was there. Great video I really enjoy watching you talk about.
5:09 No the Platinum trim doesn't give you cooled front seats for whatever odd reason. Nissan still hasn't added that to the Rogue Platinum which is something the Murano Platinum has
We rented a Rogue recently and one thing we noticed was a lot of hesitation from the 3 cylinder, even when backing up for some reason. Like even in reverse you give it a little gas and it felt like it was going over a bump even on smooth pavement. Definitely didn’t care for it. My guess is, being a rental, some prior renter did something to it.
Be interesting to see you compare the 2024 mitsubishi outlander which shares structural and chassis bits and hard points with this rogue, but still has the 2.5L I4. Despite being a platform mate you didnt mention trying the outlander. All the plusses of the rogue and none of the negatives. Even nicer interior.
11:14 - Not surprised this interior feels better than the old RAV4 - that model is very due for a redesign. How does this interior compare to the Hyundai Tucson?
Toyota might go the small light "offroader" route with the next RAV4 as they did with the current model, so even with a much needed redesign, I don't see anything changing in the interior, especially since the smallest body on frame offroad SUV that they currently make is the 4runner, which is far from a compact SUV. They seem to have their eyes set on the Subaru Forester, Ford Bronco Sport and Jeep Compass as small offroad crossovers.
@damilolaakanni Good! The RAV4 started as a competent little soft-roader as opposed to the tall-riding station wagons like Rogue, Equinox, or Escape. Hope the RAV4 makes a turn toward its roots as opposed to a larger Corolla Cross.
@@damilolaakanni I can't see Toyota messing with the RAV4 too much by making it off-roady. It sells too well. It would be nice if they did an FJ-ish vehicle to compete with the Wrangler or smaller.
Imagine if Nissan never used those crappy Jatco CVTs. They’d probably be much more popular.
imagine if nissan didn't own/profit massively from jatco. a splash of infiniti interior to sell a nightmare drivetrain

You know they have the same interior pretty much.
The CVTs were bad enough, and then they mixed it with a 3-cylinder.
