I love the Mockroot vibe (especially the Jazzshuggah middle section), but it sounds not only modern but a nice evolution of your sound! What a time to be alive
That middle section goes way harder than a lot of modern metalcore breakdowns!

these time signatures are insane. Very talented drummer
@@MistaZULEfairly certain the song is technically 5/4 with the subdivisions being triplets. You could also I guess interpret it in 15/8 for that reason as well which would be the compound meter of the song. When the song drops down to just the singing and piano. The bass drum is accenting the actually pulse. Even in the middle of the song it stays with this concept of 15/8 or 5/4 in triplets. They just get really crazy with tactus modulations to disguise what is going on.
@@drumkidstu damn man, you know way more than me. I thought for sure the middle piece changed time signatures, but you're right and it's still 5/4. Really incredible to be able to modulate the drumming like that to give the impression the time signature changes.
I don't normally listen to this genre (first time hearing this band) and I'm pretty interested overall in it. Is it some kind of post math rock or even jazz metal? What do you even call this genre?

Please what is the time signature? Im having so much trouble trying to figure it out
I think it’s 5/4
Actually it sounds like 4/4 with a quarter note triplet grouped in 5's .The melody also has like a 7/8 feel plus a 16th note triplet on the first bar of the synth groove . The more I listen , the more I'm hearing 😮

@@joelmckinney234 it’s 5/4 with triplets or technically if you are going with a compound meter 15/8 dividing the 15 into groupings of 3. He clearly holds the groupings of 3 in the piano in the beginning sections and the bass drum. In the middle section it’s still in 15 but it’s felt in groupings of 5 and 4. The last section of the middle goes back to groupings of three. Tigran is a master at taking one idea and concept and expanding it over an entire piece of music. This is what is going on here. While parts in the middle section almost seem unrelated, it’s for sure just an absolute exploration of everything that is possible within the rhythmic cell he’s written.
@@drumkidstu it's 15/8, but what's confusing is that he always switches the groupings and accents, so you can easily loose the count. But counting it as 5 groupings of 3 notes will always work
