Hi Tiff, it is absolutely perfect to cry because we are only human! I lost my mom in the beginning of this year and the pain of losing her seared into my emotion. We promised our dad we would take care of her and we did! I am beginning to laugh again, albeit rarely but i know that my parents would want us to be strong and continue to live a productive life. It is so good to see you smiling and enjoying spending time with your mom and Don. Take it one day at a time Tiff! 💐🌼

And I came here to comment that and to share that yes I have a warm and comforting PLUS quick and easy breakfast that I have almost every morning when it’s cold outside… egg drop soup! I keep bone broth on hand and dump some in a pot and bring it to a boil; once it starts boiling drizzle in beaten eggs while stirring, I season with garlic salt and minced dried onions and add a splash of cream at the end… it’s warm, creamy, savory, and like a hug to my stomach! 🤗

I’m so bad at breakfast but yesterday made a little leftover sticky pork (your recipe) and cracked an egg in the pork as it was heating and put it over rice (with green onion). My older brother passed away almost a year ago from the same awful disease. I can tell you that the grief never goes away, but it does take up a little less room after a while. Some days it’s quiet and some days it’s so loud. The thing that helps me the most is noticing all the little ways I am like him, it makes him feel close and present in my life. When that doesn’t work, spicy noodles and dumplings.

For a little twist on the breakfast eggs, I recommend a dash of fish sauce instead of soy sauce. It's so good.
