Hi TampaTec, I stumbled across your video and I'm glad that I did. Both this video and the headrest video/gaming system have been very helpful. I wanted to do this for my Ram truck for about a month now but I couldn't find a video on youtube as informative as yours.
Hi there great video thank you for the information, I have a Sony TFT monitor but the rca video cable for it is a male rca plug im having trouble connecting my ps2 as both ends are male rca ? Thanks!!
Ford made the cigarette lighter outlets like that for all their cars so you can run accessories , like Cv radios, laptop and emergency lights with out having to leave the keys in, sweet video
This was stuff of the teen me's dreams, but now the tech is ubiquitous and affordable, and the stuff we carry in our pockets do the same, but still this wins because it is something we can do with a week of effort but not ordering their parts though a shop and getting things preowned or on clearance online. I'm doing this in a way, but its mostly getting power inverters to power tablets sitting on the dashboard connected to bluetooth car stereo and bluetooth game controllers running emulators or game streaming services, and just watching internet streaming services videe on demand or of the same live tv broadcasts in their browser website or app.
Why not just cut into the wiring harness for power in behind your stereo? For ps2/cable box? DC power should be able to perform and release you from that toggle switch.
You can skip all the inverters for most of this stuff...it likely runs on 12vdc already. Kinda wasteful to convert 12vdc to 120vac just so the plug adaptor can convert back to dc again

My problem is I already installed it my head unit has backup camera and video going out but I do not have video going in for the TV. The head unit has video going in so I was able to just plug it into the head unit in the back of me and get a picture so how can I take it from the back and add it to my front head unit along with everything else

Sooooooo I'm not a technical person. Not sure wat to connect to wat. How would I find a person to do the work cheaply for me? Wat would I ask for? How much would that set up cost?
Appreciate you willing help others by sharing your own experience, I would def do the same and properly grab one, one question...I see alot of others connecting Ipads or tablets into their head units would this one be compatible if I choose to do gaming there instead of PS2 and all other apps etc., also does it have a built in gps thats accurate or would i be able to intergrate all this with an inpendent gps like Garmin for better accuracy and everything else Ipad can do like OBD app for car diagnostics? I'm trying to find a dependable double din head unit to do an Ipad or Tablet install with TV like yours is properly decked out, Props bro
Nice, solid info guess I'm grabbing one. Also just finish going thru some vids in ur channel, man its a treasure chest of useful information esp for DIY projects, def need more subs. Props.
Dude, Your the TampaTec why the 120 V converter? we both know there has to be a DC/DC solution. I bet that tuner is running less than 12 V. And you could have used a simple dual female rca to single rca out instead of the A/B switch, You just can't power them at the same time.
Also. The only thing I actually agree with the installation is the A/V switch. Even if one component is powered down, the other components outputs won't have the same v-out and still end up with a weaker feed to the head unit. A physical switch is always better for those situations.
My problem is that I purchased digital TV for my car 2013 Toyota Corolla. I have a pioneer pioneer head unit. I already installed monitors for the back. I have them hooked up so that whoever's in the back can watch whatever I'll be watching in the front. Sometimes when I am alone and I am waiting for someone I like to cut on and watch TV I don't know how to hook it to the back of my pioneer. So I ended up hooking them to the head units in the back of me. So whoever's in the back can watch live TV how can I install it to my head unit also I do not have a port for it what do I do
You have a lot of power drawing off that switch, I hope it's a heavy duty one with heavy wiring. You wire anything direct to the battery?... just sayin.
Nice! I was pissed that my receiver had TV built in, useless analog TV. I do have other AV inputs tho, so I was searching for a vid like yours. I have some questions for you when you have time to answer. Is there not a digital TV converter that uses 12v power instead of having to run a inverter? Because the way you are set up looks like you will lose all presets each shut down. Also is the remote necessary? Or can you control anything with the headunit. If it has to be used only with remote, is there a unit with a portable/remote IR receiver that I can hide somewhere. I dont want it just setting out like yours is. Does it hold a station long, say driving down interstate at 60mph LISTENING to it. Also Im in a convertible so what antenna would work best for me, I already have 3, the am/fm, sat, and gps. Thanks so much for posting this BTW!
Juan Nunez that is not what i said. the stationary tv receiver is not made for moving in and receive tv signals. when you drive the signals bounce off buildings and the reception goes bad. you will not be able to receive the tv signals in speeds above 30-70kmh. a diversity receiver is made for mobility and have two antennas to cancel out the distorted signals due to movement. if you are going highway speeds and want good reception you have to have a receiver that has specifications for use over 180kmh and preferrably more. a home tv receiver is only good at receiving signals at 0kmh under good reception. brake lockout from the screen has nothing to do with that
hey bud, i'd like to change my cig lighter from off to on all of the time on my 97 jag xj6 in order to have a solar charger on 24/7 to keep a trickle charge to my battery. is there an easier way to do it other than taking apart all the console where the 2 cig lighters are located? maybe i can do it where the battery is located inside the trunk area that goes up under the console to the 2 cig lighters. any ideas how to do this without me having to take it into an auto electrical shop that could get expensive? ps. i really enjoyed this video as to be able to install a TV/video and tuner into the dash, hooking up an inverter and antenna. also, if your next venture is to add the internet to watch movies via Netflix or Amazon, i can tell you where and how to watch new movie releases that are in the movie theaters right now. thank you for sharing your expertise. you need a high sensitivity diversity tv receiver to be able to see anything while driving. that box will only work when parked and in very low speed
Paul Sandin not if you ground the brake cable ...will work even when driving...
