When this comes out I hope someone makes a firefight game mode with bots, there could be waves with different shield strengths, different weapons etc. while the players could earn points to buy better weapons, or build barricades. Judging by the 'leaks', I'm sure it's possible.
Leaks show that there is a PVE and possibly a PVPVE mode called Extraction that is coming where you have to complete objectives while fighting the Banished.
Once Forgers get to share their creations with everyone, I hope that the top 7 maps get added to their own playlist and that the top 3 get some developer love aesthetic & gameplay-wise to make them ever better, also, I hope that these people don't just get rewarded with an emblem or credits, they could and should get recognized by getting the opportunity to work for the studio in some capacity.

I’m so excited that the weapon variant “glitch” is back and who knows what people will find in this on full release. Although I do miss some of the other weapons hopefully we get them someday still. The plasma caster and saw combinations were nuts. But it will be really nice to have these easier to give to people instead of a bunch of spawn platforms around the map with icons alerting people.
It may be janky, but if they don't have it day 1 you could also use scripting to attach brute corpse objects to the enemies and let the players shoot at that. Scale down the bots with a script to and attach grunt corpses to them. The sky is the limit, really. Make the bot invisible to ensure it doesn't mess with the visual of the attached object. Hell, attach Forge items to each limb to approximate a Promethean Knight or even a Sentinel if you feel like it. Make the bot invulnerable, then a script with a custom hit box to adjust their hit points to ensure it aligns with the attached object. Maybe even try using scripts to oscillate the scale of the legs just slightly to make a subtle hint at a walking animation like a retro FPS from the 90s. Use scripts to adjust their stats to match the alien species they're assigned to as well as equip them accordingly. You can do a lot to make sure the bots are convincing enough to be campaign AI. It'll be imperfect and scuffed, but it'll work! EDIT: This is what I plan to do if they don't have campaign AI at the beta launch, btw. I didn't just come up with all this on the spot. I've been spreading this option on Reddit and TH-cam since the very first Forge leaks showed it was gonna be possible to have bots in Forge maps.
I wish they could extend the amount of bots for people like me that don't want to get into sweaty PVP matches. I would love BTB with 12v12 bots especially if they can add vehicle support (they used to not get in vehicles with you and now they do so who knows)

I would really like to see other characters come into forge as bots as well. Elites, brutes, jackals, grunts, etc. Not sure how feasible that would be. But, would really be a cool addition.

But I love to think of how many people may be able to credit this feature for inspiring them to learn programming!

Absolutely fantastic take. I myself got into game dev programming through things like Overwatch Workshop, but so many more people will be inspired through Halo Forge! Stuff like this will make tomorrow's developers.

@@expiredhamburger6531 Lol, there was no custom games browser at all during halo 3, reach, or 4 and I had plenty of fun with custom games back then. In fact, halo 3 was the pinnacle of custom games fun for me. People today are being so ridiculous. We would literally download maps from forge websites / applications. And we didn't even have discord back then to find people to play with.
Forge didn’t carry it, reach’s multiplayer stands on its own, forge was its own beast that complimented the whole game, unfortunately forge will HAVE to carry infinite

I just finished a 2-year Computer Science course and this kind of customization and openness by the studio is heaven to me! Even with what I learned, modding is a bit nerve-wracking for me out of fear of damaging the whole program, but this kind of interactivity opens up so many opportunities to experiment and keep my skills sharp while I'm looking for work.

Back in the Halo 2 days in 2004 there was a map that I dreamt about making, literally I had a dream and that's I came up with this map I'll finally be able to make it the way I always wanted it with infinite
One feature that would be nice to add would be the ability to change the damage type of a weapon without changing the ammo type. For example: add shock damage to the hammer without removing the gravity pulse when you swing. Then you'd have Thor's hammer.
The beautiful thing about the nav mesh is the opportunity to even see holes in your own logic! You can add or block off movement options based off the nav mesh data that you were previously blind to!
As much as I love these scripting tools I do hope they actually add these game modes *as game modes*. Juggernaut and Infection being scriptable is cool but they should still be selectable game modes so they can be played on more maps without needing to copy and paste scripting into the map itself.

the only thing i can think of to make this even better is some kind of persistant data between games, like making a halo RPG for example, if you could get on every day and grind levels that would be amazing, also adding campign enemies to fight would be cool. I just really like the idea of being able to make a totaly new game with Halo infinite as the base.

@@TheColtB Ive got a stream archived on my gaming channel from 2 days before the earliest references i can find anywhere. From waypoint forums to youtube videos, myself and a guy named imdahunicorn were messing around with this and made a few custom maps and a gamemode using this bug.
They NEED to add an Action Sack playlist that rotates between the most popular user-created map-mode combos every couple weeks or so. Would be a HUGE win for casual players and the community in general!

I do have an idea for you. You should definitely ship forge with game modes people can edit. Hint hint infection, druggernert, coin games, AI so you can make firefight, make it easy for the players to add game modes to their maps. Not only will you get the forger but you'll get the casual players to really grasp what force can offer.🙏

I was the 117 like and I just want to say I hope the best for this game, and I love that this news is coming out so soon after The Act Man denounced the game! It really is a good thing because this could be the start of the path to reconstruction.
The 343 devs should have made this an absolute priority, so that the entire community could have done a ton of groundwork crafting and testing for them. I am glad it's in, but damn you really pushed it to the brink with people quitting.

I can recreate my Halo 2 modes from middle school once again 😅 'Krapthunder'- double shields, warthogs and double the grenades. Rockets are primary weapon. No other firearms. KrapThrowinMonkies- Everyone is invisible, close quarters, with only pistols and no shields. An invisible free for all, with low health and strong pistol damage. Good for jump scares.
i really hope y'all will add AI from the campaign and also, I think it would be cool to be able to script in something like Lua or C# as well as the visual scripting system. I think that would still let it be very accessible, but also even more powerful to people that know those languages

We need this scripting for gametypes also. Having to setup this set of scripts on every map individually just to play Juggernaut is rather inefficient.
Not sure if something like this is already implemented, but it would be nice to be able to script bots to prioritize certain targets. You can see the bots just treating the Juggernaut mode as a free-for-all and not paying special attention to the Juggernaut.
The thing about these bots is that they're SO realistic, they accurately depict the average Halo player's behavior. Its basically matchmaking but with bots. I've even improved my gameplay by playing with bots all day. I've noticed I'm more aggressive in matchmaking now thanks to them.
This is INSANE! Forge is going to be crazy you guys did great on this. I'm really excited to play some super fun customs and see the amazing maps people build.
With the navmesh system, why aren’t the NPCs from campaign an option? This would open up so many possibilities for custom Firefight maps and even custom campaign missions.
This looks so cool. I always wanted to work for Halo but of course working there required college which I struggled trying to get to because it was expensive.
Man this looks amazing! I've been drafting map ideas on paper since before infinite came out and now I'm coming up with new custom game mode ideas too! For future infinite forge updates, I think a custom weapon or item creators to make unqiue items for players use. Like if you could have a bunch of small more detailed pieces and you make any shape out of it, maybe even make a custom gun particle effect out of the same pieces or even combining existing gun effects, then just assign one of the base game animations that already exists and give it custom ammo capacity, fire rates and damage values. Imagine blocking out a flint lock rifle that looks like it's made of wood and iron, then giving it the smoke effect of a rocket launcher out of the barrel and a round pellet is the projectile. Or a giant cannonball grenade with a lit fuse you can throw that has a huge area of effect, or random glass bottles and pieces of furniture which function as weaker energy swords or a brute force gravity hammer.
I've been Halo fan since Combat Evolved but only for the campaigns, multiplayer matches don't interest me. I would love to be able to make and play single player maps with bots from the main campaign. Like Grunts or Jackals for example and have options for bot control like "move to certain zone", "guard a certain zone" and "patrol a certain zone". The maps can be completed by "take out all bots" or "reach a certain destination" or "destroy a certain object". I very excited to see what this Forge is like and if it can help out single players out with that single player itch. I thank all of the 343 staff for their hard efforts and passion they put into this
I want this game to succeed. Halo needs a win 343, you need a win because this franchise means alot to people around the world. Its more than a product you are handling you are handling the legacy of an entire generations childhood. I can only hope you learn from past failures and move forward.

You missed out a lot in Halo 5, which had amazing Forge and custom games.

I was the 117 like and I just want to say I hope the best for this game, and I love that this news is coming out so soon after The Act Man denounced the game! It really is a good thing because this could be the start of the path to reconstruction.

So many don't understand how big this is. No wonder the recent updates have been lackluster. They're literally building a game engine for us 😳
The 343 devs should have made this an absolute priority, so that the entire community could have done a ton of groundwork crafting and testing for them. I am glad it's in, but damn you really pushed it to the brink with people quitting.

Eh… Doubt it. I’ll come back for sure, but I doubt most people who dropped this dumpster fire would be willing to give it another chance after they had given it so many before.
The sandbox in this game is so good, I can't wait for this to launch! The community will make it great like the old halo days!

this gets me soooo excited cus I do a lot of 1v1 matches with friends until I learn how to do intense scripting it'll be fun to add some twists to 1v1 games

Yay I can play my maps now!! As my friends don't play halo often or ever, my forge maps were lonely and now with bots I can actually play them!!
i wanna know: if more ideas come to mind from devs, can they be updated into post-launch forge to increase the options/variables available for players? Like, if there is something the community requests that doesnt exist in any of the scripting menus, can they be added later?
He did mention adding more features in the future at some point in the video.

'Krapthunder'- double shields, warthogs and double the grenades. Rockets are primary weapon. No other firearms.
KrapThrowinMonkies- Everyone is invisible, close quarters, with only pistols and no shields. An invisible free for all, with low health and strong pistol damage. Good for jump scares.

i really hope y'all will add AI from the campaign and also, I think it would be cool to be able to script in something like Lua or C# as well as the visual scripting system. I think that would still let it be very accessible, but also even more powerful to people that know those languages

This is why they created their own engine. I don't think Unreal Engine would let the dev's migrate their tools into an editor as powerfully as this.

I trust 343. This demonstrates that they care about Halo. Mismanagement, contractors leaving, lack of support from executives... Those are the things they had to deal with. It's not fair to make generalized assumptions. The devs, the hardworking people at 343, they have my respect.

Its nice that its all IN forge, so you just need to pick "slayer" and itll play your custom game with your custom map

Just want to say thank you to the forge team for helping make infinite great. Also a big thank you for finally firing Bonnie Ross. It’s a little late but it will absolutely change the future for Infinite and move it in the right direction. Halo may be reborn after all.

-What the weapon shell is _(what weapon's appearance does it use)_
-What the scope _or alt fire_ is _(what weapon's scope does it use)_ *OR* _(what weapon's alt-fire does it use in it's first toggle & what weapon's alt-fire does it use in it's second toggle)_
-What *node* can be attached while scoped _or switching alt-fire_
-What the firing type is _(what weapon's firing type does it use)_ [ and what the secondary firing type is _(what weapon's firing type does it use in alt-fire)_ ]
-What *node* can be attached while firing _or holding down the trigger_
-What the ammunition of the primary fire is [ and how many projectiles fire ]
-What the ammunition of the secondary fire is [ and how many projectiles fire ]
-What ammunition is needed to reload
Example 1:
You make a BR _(weapon shell).._
..shoot like a Plasma Pistol _(firing type).._
..with the scope of a Skewer..
..that shoots Hydra Rockets normally..
..and shoots a Spnkr Rocket when you hold down and release the trigger..
..and shoots multiple Spnkr Rockets if you hold down the trigger for longer..
..and you can control the rockets while scoped..
Example 2:
You make a Mangler _(weapon shell).._
..shoot like a BR _(firing type).._
..with the first alt-fire set to a heatwave..
..and the second alt-fire set to a Hydra tracking shot..
..and shoots Mangler spikes normally..
..and shoots Skewer spikes that explode when you're in alt-fire mode..
Limitations apply if the weapon's firing type is automatic or not *AND* if the weapon has an alt-firing mode or scope.
If a button has to be held or pressed for a specific function, it will limit what can be assigned to the weapon.
(Scoped weapons don't have an alt-firing mode) (Automatic weapons don't have a feature to charge a single shot)
We need this scripting for gametypes also. Having to setup this set of scripts on every map individually just to play Juggernaut is rather inefficient.

Not sure if something like this is already implemented, but it would be nice to be able to script bots to prioritize certain targets. You can see the bots just treating the Juggernaut mode as a free-for-all and not paying special attention to the Juggernaut.

The thing about these bots is that they're SO realistic, they accurately depict the average Halo player's behavior. Its basically matchmaking but with bots. I've even improved my gameplay by playing with bots all day. I've noticed I'm more aggressive in matchmaking now thanks to them.
This is INSANE! Forge is going to be crazy you guys did great on this. I'm really excited to play some super fun customs and see the amazing maps people build.

With the navmesh system, why aren’t the NPCs from campaign an option? This would open up so many possibilities for custom Firefight maps and even custom campaign missions.

This looks so cool. I always wanted to work for Halo but of course working there required college which I struggled trying to get to because it was expensive.
During the gameplay you can see when the QA tester part of his brain turns on, and he starts trying what trick jumps are possible
Forge is not the hero Halo deserves, but it's the one it needs right now.
Man this looks amazing! I've been drafting map ideas on paper since before infinite came out and now I'm coming up with new custom game mode ideas too!
For future infinite forge updates, I think a custom weapon or item creators to make unqiue items for players use. Like if you could have a bunch of small more detailed pieces and you make any shape out of it, maybe even make a custom gun particle effect out of the same pieces or even combining existing gun effects, then just assign one of the base game animations that already exists and give it custom ammo capacity, fire rates and damage values. Imagine blocking out a flint lock rifle that looks like it's made of wood and iron, then giving it the smoke effect of a rocket launcher out of the barrel and a round pellet is the projectile. Or a giant cannonball grenade with a lit fuse you can throw that has a huge area of effect, or random glass bottles and pieces of furniture which function as weaker energy swords or a brute force gravity hammer.

I've been Halo fan since Combat Evolved but only for the campaigns, multiplayer matches don't interest me. I would love to be able to make and play single player maps with bots from the main campaign. Like Grunts or Jackals for example and have options for bot control like "move to certain zone", "guard a certain zone" and "patrol a certain zone". The maps can be completed by "take out all bots" or "reach a certain destination" or "destroy a certain object". I very excited to see what this Forge is like and if it can help out single players out with that single player itch. I thank all of the 343 staff for their hard efforts and passion they put into this
I want this game to succeed. Halo needs a win 343, you need a win because this franchise means alot to people around the world.
Its more than a product you are handling you are handling the legacy of an entire generations childhood. I can only hope you learn from past failures and move forward.
