This is a great, great house! I love that they kept it original to when it was built. And what I really appreciate about your explores Ethan, is the fact that even though these houses are going to be torn down, you are respectful enough to not force a fireplace screen to close, or a door to open or whatever it might be. Some people might think, what's the difference? It's going to be torn down anyway. Thank you for respecting the properties you tour, and thanks for always showing us such great homes! I really do look forward to seeing the next one every time! Take care❤ and be safe out there!!
If the people who lived here ever end up finding this, they would probably be happy to see the place they grew up in treated respectfully... even if it was destined to be torn down. One last look at their past.
Interesting home. So many kitchens. And ,yeah, they don’t build split level houses anymore. And nobody tiles bathrooms much either. Love these retro houses you share.
Really strange to have 3 kitchens and such a humble master. Loved the arches and italian asthetic. Especially the wood, faux brick, use of earth tones and being split level. This style needs to make a comeback
Nice house! Love the faux brick wallpaper! The kitchen is a bit small but I love how bright it is! Lots of space in this house otherwise! Ed Hardy is a designer! That fireplace is spectacular! I saw a fireplace that was totally done in real seashells! It was gorgeous! Kind of dig the multi-levels! It's pretty cool to see how retro the homes used to be! Quality as well. Great explore video!
I just love split level houses and this one so unique with those archways and the brick wallpaper. Really nice fireplace! Love the pink and green bathroom. All of that 50+ yr old tile still shiny. Were there really three kitchens? I guess they would have come in handy for large family gatherings. I get the feeling that if walls could talk they would tell of many great times. Though never updated it seems to be in pretty great condition. House on the outside doesn’t look like anything like I would imagine from seeing the inside. If I were wealthy I think I would have so much fun saving and restoring these old houses instead of letting the design and craftsmanship go to waste. Thanks for another great adventure Ethan. Take care be well and stay safe and happy!
The 2nd kitchen was probably a wet bar with just a sink, storage, and a slim fridge for wine and other drinks. Wet bars were pretty common in rich family houses of the 70s and 80s. This house was a rich family house! The basement kitchen looks like it was added after to be a semi-private suite like a granny unit, which was also common.
Nice house. Yes, the bathrooms were excellent. I've seen that style of waist high tile in houses from about 1920-1970. I don't think they gave too much thought to bathrooms back then. Yes, the tub and fixtures in the one bathroom were "acavado" green. Weird that house had three kitchens. Again, a shame it will be torn down.
i can always tell the difference between the newer homes an older , is the quality of materials. i think the older homes like this one was well built with the open concept an the beautiful either maple or oak front door .The green some people including me in the bathroom is call olive color this was a great home Ethan an i appreciate the great content you put out for all the viewers
Great house. I can imaging kids chasing each other around, up and down the levels. Parents saying "slow down". Nice family aura. Always love your explorations. Such a treat. Blessings and always stay safe.
It's avocado green. I know this because when I was a young girl, I remember my mom asking what color my dad wanted in the kitchen and the bathroom and he always chose avocado green.
Hi Ethan!! 🌈🌈👱♀️ Of course my fave thing was that amazing bathroom with the pink and green diagonal tile!! Wow!! Would have loved to have seen the decor colors of the matching bedroom!! Also the beautiful fireplace wall and the original cabinetry was cool! Lots of homes in the 70s were these multi levels. Also the arches in the living room would lead me to believe they had the Mediterranean style decor that was very popular back then. Picture a 70s cocktail lounge and that’s pretty much it! Really enjoyed, Cindy
What I love about the 70’s is the split level-space! That “bathroom “that you loved Ethan was not a bathroom, no bath tub, just a toilet and sink, typically called a toilet room, ‘throne room’, a w.c. I love this house as well. Ethan, had some of your fav’s, an old style thermostat, a potentially gaseous fridge, spiderwebs (you are the king of spiders). I have a fridger Dale oven like that, it’s from the 70’s. Good vid as always Ethan, always ❤ your work!
Another great explore Ethan! Loved it. I was a wee kid in the 70s and it brings back fond memories of split-level homes like this with the awful patterns and colours.😂 I remember being clothed in 70s stuff - that's even more hilarious. That was definitely an avocado green bathroom suite. Yes, the oven looks like it could be 80s or 90s. Love your content and the unique homes you find. Take care out there.
Really enjoyed this one Ethan! My mom who sold real-estate in her day, taught me the front room is always the formal living room for receiving guests/company and the back room is the den (family room). Appreciate more video's, yes 😊
I love the Split Style of this House. The Bedrooms are so big and 3 Kitchens rock !!! Everybody can cook what they want without being in each others way.....lol Such a nice Home too bad they cannot save it.
Man that house was big. Yes Ethan, avocado green is right. That’s a color to forget. I never liked it. That place was literally a blast from the past. Love the 70’s. Thanks Ethan
Oh and one more thing - would love to see a bit more of the outside of homes like this. I can see an outside shot from the still of the video but it would've been awesome to see it on film too. Thanks again for the great content.
Other than some repairs I don't see much that I would change. I grew up in the 70's so I'd be right at home. Too bad it's being torn down. Thank you Ethan; I didn't even get the creeps from this place.
It always amazing to see these original retros. The quality craftsmanship is a thing of the past unfortunately. The arches are a really great feature. ✌️
This is definitely an old seventies house. It is an amazing house that some contractors could flip it! You pick out some amazing history mansions!😅😊. From Glenwood Springs, Colorado ! Ehan, you should try to find abandoned mansions in Colorado? Thank so much!
Hi Ethan Always love tuning in to your channel Love how excited you get when you find retro parts of a older home They where so well built in the70s always a shame to here they will be destroyed l hope some where in Canada they hang on to some of these gems lm from Australia and unfortunately development is happening here at a rapid rate cheers for your efforts
I actually loved this house. They don’t build them with this quality anymore. It’s a bigger house than it appeared. I think it was multi family. T three kitchens is pretty telling. Must have been a lot of great memories at one time. Thank you for a great tour. 👏👏👏
The thing with baseboard heat is it's a lot more constant. So you don't have the hot/cold like forced air. I haven't found that it's more expensive because it's usually kept at a lower heat. This house is a true gem!! Thank you Ethan!! I love the respect you show these places.
The Frigidaire stove would be from the 80s foward. The heat, along with baseboard heating, the upstairs might have been a form of electric heat called "Radiant Ceiling" totally impractical. My maternal grandmother, who was Canadian, lived in the Leamington area.
Hey Ethan...OMG i loved this house...the archways, the pink bathroom ,mind you the others were nice too....really high ceilings...brick wallpaper was different ..and of course the parquet flooring ...A MAZ ING...your rocking lately with your videos ...pizza planet 😊...stay safe well and happy 💋
90’s stove Ethan. Really nice 70’s home.Avacado green my era. That pink bathroom made me giggle. I would love that back in the 80’s. Really enjoyed this home. My favorite over the new homes.
I really love the pizza 🍕 planet shirt Ethan 😊 btw such a gorgeous house. Yes i agree that bathroom with the pink tiles are beautiful and that hand crafted fireplace 🔥 so magnificent! Thee European arch ways very stylish. I hope you come into a ton of money 💰 then you will be able to save one of these beauties and live in it. As much as you love architecture you deserve to have one. Thanks Ethan I loved 🥰 this 🏡 house sad people won’t just restore them.
Hi Ethan 😎🏎💨,My favorite was the living room with the arched doorways, the house had that never ending vibe lol different levels. Cool 🏡 house. Looking forward to seeing your next awesome house Ethan 😁🏡😎🏎💨
I wonder if an Asian family lived there ,it's very common for them to have a kitchen in the basement although it's usually a gas stove. That house reminds me of the house I grew up in in Montreal. That house just turned 50 in June. Glad thoes parkay floors no longer in style they were a pain .we use to referrer that style of house as a bungalow. The kitchen cabinets and doors were so well made back then real wood ,shame they aren't preserving thoes house ,what they are building today doesn't even compare
Totally cool 70’s house! Yes, that one bathroom had Avcado green fixtures. The top colors of the 70’s were, Avocado Green, Harvest Gold & Orange Poppy. Earth tones were also common, basically all shades of brown.
Hi Ethan. I have watched many of your videos and I request that you change your terminology. The living room is always adjacent to the front door for more formal entertaining of visitors. The family room is at the back of the house adjacent to the kitchen or downstairs. That way the kids can make a mess and it is hidden from any surprise visitors and the family can relax in a comfortable room. Keep up the good work.
The fireplace room is the den for the casual hangout just as you said: so the family can have a less well-kept room. The two front rooms were the formal living room flowing into the formal dining room designed for those swinging dinner parties (drinks in the front room before stepping over to the table in the dining room.) This home design just missed being an open concept house blending a large open kitchen with the formal front rooms so the person working in the kitchen can take part in the pre-dinner drinks and chat. "Dinner parties" as existed from the 50s through the 70s died out as traditional style social engagements died off during the 80s. Something about crowds of people standing around dressed fancy and drinking in a kitchen while the cook is trying to match formality while sweating and slinging sauce probably had something to do with it.
The hammer, that's probably before your time. Mc Hammer was a singer back in the day. The house was great. As usual Ethan, you're the best in my opinion. U get covered in cobwebs because you're so tall.
A few things had been “updated.” The wallpaper in the upstairs bedroom with the two separate patterns, that was an 80s thing, and the single red wall as an accent, was more the 90s. But most of the rest of that was really from the 70s. What I find really interesting with this particular split level is that those lower two levels each have their own separate entrance, as well as their own separate kitchen. When I saw that first lower level, with its own kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom, and living area. My first thought was that it’s a great mother-in-law‘s quarters, but then you went down another level, and you had another kitchen and another bedroom and a bathroom, and then that one was the laundry room as well. So that lowest level was kind of like the maids quarters. The half bath inside the master bedroom was an interesting touch. In the 70s they were building full en suite master bathrooms, so this one was interesting that it just had a half bath. Whoever built this or was the person who decided on things like the tile, and the counters, it was really pretty impressive for the 70s. That’s all high-end stuff, that was very well done.

I don't think you have ever posted a bad video! You're been smashing us with amazing finds the past few weeks! Thank you so much!
That type of craftsmanship, you just don't see anymore 😢 nostalgic 😞
I’m not usually a fan of the 70’s style but I love this one!!! So sad it’s gonna be torn down!
Interesting home. So many kitchens. And ,yeah, they don’t build split level houses anymore. And nobody tiles bathrooms much either. Love these retro houses you share.

This home was beautiful
I loved the fireplace in this house
Very cool 😎👍 multi levels 😎👍 nice find I'm glad we got to see it with you

Parquet flooring and wooden paneling walls are my favourite part of old 70's homes
Hi Ethan 👋 Thank you for another great video ❤️I’m liking this too😁This house is amazing 😊
Yes Ethan, it's avocado green, very popular in the seventies!!! Great adventure, even with the turdy toilet 🚽 👍👍

I like the pink bathroom. And, the funky, psychedelic trippy wallpaper 😊

What a neat house Ethan. Loved that little pink bathroom. Nice tiles and woodwork. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another great video and find. That house is a blast from the past, so many things I can relate to. You should call it the kitchen house😊
Love that house!
love the ceilings in the first two spaces! That Nutone fan is probably an exhaust fan (?) it is near the kitchen! Thx as always, love your explores!
That's a pretty cool house. Thank you for bringing it to us.
Somebody really loved this house and tried to take care of it. Too bad about the water damage,
Very nice house pleasantly decorated even though it is old it still looks good great video Ethan
I love that brick wall Ethan 😎
I can't believe that they are going to demolish that nice beautiful 🏡 😢
Great year, I was born in 1972.
That bathroom and bedroom reminds me of Alice in Wonderland colors and design
Love it Ethan
Oh I love this house! The stories the walls could tell. I love the split levels. I guess that’s why I live in one.

Nice house!! Love the basement and floors. Am wondering how my dads hammer got in there tho!!😁
Awesome house. 😊👍
Keep up the great work, Ethan...
Yes, avacado. The stove looks 80s . I'm into multi-level home, too. They're great to run through as a kid.😊
I actually loved this house. They don’t build them with this quality anymore. It’s a bigger house than it appeared. I think it was multi family. T three kitchens is pretty telling. Must have been a lot of great memories at one time. Thank you for a great tour. 👏👏👏
Out of all the houses you've covered, this is one of my favorites! P.S. yes, it was avocado green in that bathroom!
Funky stuff indeed.
Much nicer with just you showing the house. Thank you!
The thing with baseboard heat is it's a lot more constant. So you don't have the hot/cold like forced air. I haven't found that it's more expensive because it's usually kept at a lower heat. This house is a true gem!! Thank you Ethan!! I love the respect you show these places.
I love this house. It’s awesome to see these old houses. Thank you for doing what you do ❤
It’s like 3 apartments in one open House, how beautiful loved it all.
The Frigidaire stove would be from the 80s foward. The heat, along with baseboard heating, the upstairs might have been a form of electric heat called "Radiant Ceiling" totally impractical. My maternal grandmother, who was Canadian, lived in the Leamington area.
I love catching up on your videos every few months. Wishing you well!
Yep, avocado green! Nice house!
I can’t believe that people haven’t lived in this house since 2018 dang this house still looks good
That lock box
is used to put

Hey Ethan...OMG i loved this house...the archways, the pink bathroom ,mind you the others were nice too....really high ceilings...brick wallpaper was different ..and of course the parquet flooring ...A MAZ ING...your rocking lately with your videos ...pizza planet 😊...stay safe well and happy 💋

90’s stove Ethan. Really nice 70’s home.Avacado green my era. That pink bathroom made me giggle. I would love that back in the 80’s. Really enjoyed this home. My favorite over the new homes.
Another beautiful house going to bite the dust , so sad that they don't give it to homeless families with children 😢
Here in the UK we call it Olive Green! That, Peach & Pink were all the rage in the 70's/80's era 😂
I really love the pizza 🍕 planet shirt Ethan 😊 btw such a gorgeous house. Yes i agree that bathroom with the pink tiles are beautiful and that hand crafted fireplace 🔥 so magnificent! Love everything about this place!!
wow that house needs a family . Thanks for sharing

Avocado color was emerged as 1960s color! Along with harvest gold, mustard gold, orange and green. Cool house Ethan!
Hi Ethan 😎🏎💨,My favorite was the living room with the arched doorways, the house had that never ending vibe lol different levels. Cool 🏡 house. Looking forward to seeing your next awesome house Ethan 😁🏡😎🏎💨
Good one, Babe! Avocado is correct! ❤ That pink bathroom reminded me of the 50s, for sure. You are so good! Keep up the WONDERFUL job!

"U can't touch this" is now stuck in my head...
3 Kitchens...5 bathrooms !
Loved this one!
Good one buddy. Thanks.
Lovely house, beautiful features . I would like to know more information about it because maybe it won't be destroyed.
You are in the wrong business to not like spiders.
I love this house ❤

Ethan made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
With the Sorry for the turdy toilet guys 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The house i grew up in had that exact green bathroom..lol… and that pink bathroom, wow! That was cool…
That fake brick wallpaper was such a bad decision by the homeowner.
