Characters who are named by the fandom are named like that to make them more relatable- and more able to see as a person.. as the person above me said. its harder to see a character as a person if their name is unrealistic- like, for example, naming a child "Narrator" because lets be honest, nobody would name their child that. Nobody would name their child "Protagonist" either, so the fandom settles on a name so that it feels more like their an actual person... This can apply to the reason why "CC" or "Crying Child" is called "Chris" back before nobody was yelling at each other about what his name was (because it doesn't matter in my opinion-). This may also go for some other characters I haven't thought of just yet as well. I hope this helps other people understand more.

Everyone in the comments is getting exited about Sal and I just gotta say that I am too. Normally when I see Sal in a singing battle people don’t do a very good job with accurate character design and personality and I wanted to congratulate you on doing him justice. I also really appreciate that no one in the video felt overshadowed by any of the other characters! My only criticism is the shaking screen as it made it a bit harder to watch but overall the was a phenomenal video!
