This is totally a work of art, can’t wait to see it flying
Thank you! Maiden flight will be soon! Just got the oil so now I can set it up.
Man, a lot of work went into this. A work of art!
I can't wait to see its first spool up.
This has to be one of the best 3D Turbine builds on youtube.
The longer you look at it the more details you see.
Well done West!
Thank you very much! I greatly appreciate it. This is definitely my most involved in longest build yet. I took my time and made sure everything was perfect!
Cant wait to see this thing fly and especially to hear how it sounds.
Can't wait to see it fly!!
Me either! I wish the oil would get here already!!
Can’t wait for the maiden.
Me either! Just waiting on turbine oil.
The most important modification for this build starts at your bank account.... Mortgage or turbine heli 🤔🤣
It is definitely not cheap! A lot of money to build one.
It is definitely not cheap to build
love that 3d printing plays such a huge role in that - and very well done mate - engineering at its finest
💯
3D printing is awesome! I’ve got 4 printers and run them all the time. It’s amazing to be able to make all my own parts. I even got a CNC machine now and learning that so I can make carbon and metal parts!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 yeah indeed, with a cnc its ever better im currently still missing that part unfortunately xD
Holy shnikeys! Can't wait to see this in the air! Awesome build. 🤌
I can’t either! I wish the oil would get here so I can start it!
Badd Ass!!! 10/10 I hope she flies as good as she looks. Nice job! 😎👍
Thank you! I hope so! It was a big project and took a lot of time and money. So I’ll be extremely happy when it flys and flys good.
Jeff, definitely a amazing build and your informative narration is always nice to hear. 😊
Thank you! I appreciate that, I try and explain everything I do the best i can!
Looks great Jeff 🎉. I have zero experience with model turbines, however, I have played with diesel motors. My ex wouldn’t let me bring anything with, or that had the smelly fuel in it, near the house😂
Thank you! That’s funny! So I personally hate the smell of gas, but I love Nitro and kerosene or Jet-A. I have actually never ran a diesel combustion engine for a model.
Very nice Jeff. Cant wait to see it fly. I am in the middle of building a Turbine Whiplash as I do not have the skills or resources to do that many modifications on a Nitro airframe to make the turbine fit.
Jeff,
It is simply perfect!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you! I greatly appreciate that. It was a big build!
this thing is sick. why are helicopters so expensive though 😂😂 awesome one thanks man
Thank you! They are definitely expensive, building a Heli is not cheap. Really it comes down to all the CNC work that it takes to build the kit and how expensive those machines are.
Nice job Jeff, think the motor is correct way, you will be able to easily add some carbon to tidy the look of the front, nice you decided on the raw too good choice, i think you made a decent heli there, well done, keep em comming be nice to see it fly. all the best.
Thank you! I was really torn on if I should mount the engine backwards and I thought about it for several days. But nobody could give me a definite answer if it would hurt the engine by suffocating itself so I just decided to mount it the regular way. A carbon fiber bottom hatch will definitely complete the look of it I believe. I was hoping to fly it this past weekend, but the turbine oil still has not arrived.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I'm looking forward to it awesome job all the best
Sweet Jeff
Amazing Work!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Great work. That is a clean, well engineered build. Did you have to make changes, or add weight to the rear to get the CG to work out ? Now you have flown it, how was the heat around the front ? Could that have been done with the black nitro with more canopy ?
Thank you! I appreciate it. It was a ton of work and a lot of time but well worth it. So I tired to get everything on CG (main shaft) but unfortunately the engine sticking out there was no way to get it perfectly balanced. So it’s very nose heavy. But in all honesty you don’t notice it in flight. It flys really really good. I’ll post a 3D video on Monday. Heat around the front was good. It got slightly warmer than I was hoping but nothing to be concerned about. I definitely think it could have been done with a black thunder or kraken 700 nitro. My only concern would be getting enough air (unless a hole in the front/sides). But heat would be okay. It’s not melting or getting the decals messed up on the side plates.
she looks good the way it sits
Thank you! It sure looks pretty!
That is the hub that is mounted over where the fuel pump is mounted. The ecu is within the turbine.
Hmm! That’s interesting. I always thought that the control box was the ECU?
Knocked on wood with crossed fingers for you...
Thank you! I hope the maiden goes perfectly and flies as good as it looks.
Fly it bro please🎉
I’m still waiting on oil.
@westhobbiesrc8051 coo brother I like watching your channel awsome and full of information 👌 😀
@@user-fc1sm4zb2y thank you very much. I’m glad you enjoy the channel!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 thanks bro
Jeff - awesome video - how on earth do you ensure the COG is correct with such a weighty lump hanging over the nose?
Possibly because the heavy battery / batteries are usually up front. ?
Thank you! So it is extremely nose heavy! I’m hoping with fuel. It will help as the week is farther back, even though the tank is right on the CG of the mainshaft. Since this is not an actual 3-D helicopter, being those heavy is OK.
Is it ever going to fly or what?
Nope! Just going to look at it.
You can't just show a guy something like that and not fly it that's cruel!
@@DESTINYFPV if you watched the end I said im waiting on oil. Plus I will not rush this maiden. Way too much money. I want to make sure everything is perfect and ready to go.
@westhobbiesrc8051 that's perfectly understandable just excited to see it fly my friend I know the feeling well believe me.
@@DESTINYFPV me too! More excited than I’ve been in a long time to fly something. The turbine oil should be here any day then I can set it all up and hopefully Maiden this weekend!
