Agree entirely Josh, also, I don’t think Jim Knowles, or Chip Kelley take the job if they don’t think Ryan Day can handle it. I don’t think Brian Hartline stays either. I don’t think Locksley comes over either. They all could make money anywhere but they chose to come under the Ryan Day umbrella.
Speaking for most hard core Ohio State alumni and fans… Ryan Day is a class act and great coach, who we want to see truly stay as a Buckeye for a long time!
I have met Ryan Day (briefly) related to his charity work. He is a very likable guy. He is a very caring person. He loves his players and he teaches them how to be good men. He loves his family. He loves his community even when his community treats him like garbage. He doesn’t make excuses. He doesn’t blame his players or his coaches or the system or anything other than himself. He gives credit to his team when he wins and he takes responsibility on himself when he loses. I have always thought he was great, we are lucky to have him, and that’s a hill I would die on and did all through the bashing after Michigan. I thank Michigan for that loss because it made us dig deep and find a way to be better. Ryan Day is a great man and I hope now everyone comes to appreciate it.
Insane take. Ryan day is extremely likable. As a person dude is amazing. It’s the losses to TTUN that drove folks crazy. But the man won a natty. He’s earned the right for us fans to chill on him.
Literally have never heard one person describe him as likable, he is easily the most unlikable guy, consistently arrogant, always complains, was born on 3rd base, and the only reason he won it all is because he paid 20 mil in NIL and because basically every single team in CFB was in a rebuild year. If this OSU played any natty winner of the last 20 years they’d get smacked by each and everyone
If you switch day and lanning rn everyone would be dumping praise on day and lanning would be considered “unlikable”. It’s just bc it’s osu and they don’t like us bc they ain’t us
I didn't really hate Urban Meyer when he coached OSU. Now I started following college football just when his tenure at Florida ended, where most of those skeletons are from, so I never really saw those teams play and heard those headlines in real time, but I didn't hate him. I don't like Ryan Day cause he just comes off the wrong way, I can't explain it. After his team beat ND in South Bend he immediately went to talking shit about an 85 year old man that just voiced his opinion. Also like to clown the guy for having a beard made of pubes and just for men, and the fact that he inherited a golden situation in Columbus with a top 3 team in the country roster wise every year and he's underachieved. But what do I know, he just won a national championship and I'm just a nobody voicing my opinion in a YT comment section, I'd be foolish to not trade places with him
He did not talk shit about him, he called him out publicly to take up for his kids being called soft on national tv when Holtz been where Day is & knows better than ragging on college kids as a ex-coach. Notice how he never says a word for all the talk about him, but he’s gonna respond attacking his guys. All his players love him & that’s why. Also search his coaching history, he wasn’t handed crap. The beard… ppl need to grow tf up, why you worrying about another man’s facial hair… you fruity or something?
Jim Harbaugh is a slime ball and a cheater. He’s arrogant, abrasive and burns bridges every where he goes. Doesn’t know how to lose with class, nor win with class. Just ask Jim Schwartz
Personally, I’ve always believed the reason they hate Ohio State is because unlike literally every other program they don’t have 5 win seasons, 500 seasons. It’s only happened one time and that was because we lost our coach right before the season. It might’ve been even during the season. Luke Fickell and we had I believe a seven and six record. But take away interim coaches and we average 10 wins a year for a long time. No other program can say that not even Alabama.
People hate Ohio because of how the fans in Ohio are. No one has ever had an enjoyable experience with Ohio fans/people. Their fans are more West Virginia or SEC than B10/Midwest. It's also the only game in town whereas other states have professional teams fans move onto when the season ends. Who is Ohio gonna move onto? Browns? Guardians? Cavs? Blue Jackets? Nope..
@ No one’s EVER had an enjoyable experience with an OSU fan, huh? Just never?! Yeah, imma let you think about what you wrote and the likeliness of that claim. Other fanbases most certainly have their issues as well. That has been on full display this season, particularly. Ohio not having other reliable teams to move on to is true, however. It is the pride of Ohio, especially, because we’re very lucky that it is truly such a big and successful school and brand.
@@u00jjsl18 Ohio State fans dominate in every city statewide, not just in 'Columbus.' and there are plenty of professional teams in Ohio. They rep the entire state. They also have the largest fanbase nationwide. 'No one has ever had an enjoyable experience with Ohio fans/people.' --Someone's definitely mad about something to make that kind of statement.
@@Ghost_of_a_Flea I am mad cause your fans suck. My family members that went to OSU are trash. I have a good friend who is an OSU fan, very good dude. Even he agrees with me on this. It's okay to know your fanbase sucks. Doesn't change your individual fandom.
I’m one of those guys calling for him to be axed after the Michigan game and I was at the natty. Day deserves some grace. He NEEDS to beat Michigan though, for his own sake. He’s a great coach and likely a hall of famer. But he’s got to beat TTUN because you can’t rely on winning a natty every year. It’s not realistic and it’s the only way to cope with a loss the last week of the regular season. Great coach, great guy, real human being, deserves respect, still needs to win The game.
Exactly. I easily also calling for him to be fired immediately following The Game, and even then I knew they would win the title. They were clearly heads and shoulders above the field. That 4 game stretch makes The Game result even more unbelievable and unacceptable. He absolutely has to win The Game next year. But it's not personal. I think he's a very likable nice guy. So is John Cooper, but I wasn't sad to see him get fired either.
Same, the one thing I cannot accept is that he's not likable. Even when I wanted him to go I felt horrible about it because he's such a likable person lol
The rivalry is not the same as it was before the playoffs, especially the 12 team playoffs and conference expansion. There was a time when Michigan and Ohio State were the only two teams in the B1G capable of winning at the national level. Winning that game was critical for the season, that is no longer the case as evident by Ohio State winning the national championship this season. Also, Michigan shit on the rivalry when they decided to cheat to win and destroyed the integrity of the game. Only fans who haven’t evolved with the modern game of football still think it’s a “must win” game. Does that mean fans who have evolved don’t care if Ohio State wins that game? Of course not. But, we’re not going to run off a top 3 head coach in college football with high integrity. That’s insane.
If the 12 team playoffs didn't exist, this would be the 4th straight year he lost to Michigan, didn't win the Big Ten or make the playoffs, with arguably the most talented team Ohio State has fielded in decades. The criticism was absolutely justified.
@@mechmat12345 The 12 team playoff happened. Day made the playoffs. Day won the national championship. Michigan is in the waiting period for the NCAA to rule on their punishment for cheating. It is their third offense and covers a three year period. Just like Day winning the national championship silenced his critics, when the NCAA announces Michigan’s punishment, the losses to Michigan will have an a blemish, that’s if the NCAA doesn’t vacate the wins.
Haterade is in full effect … The real reason is because in the last 30 years of college football other then Nick Saban led Alabama teams the Buckeyes are the most consistently good team/program year in and year out and has been nationally relevant during that entire span.
Except the Buckeyes have never had down periods, ever. Even the best of the best programs has, not Ohio State. No 8 loss season ever, no 5-10yr down periods, & at Ohio State a 11-1 or 10-2 season is a disappointing season
The Lou Holtz thing was because Holtz was calling the Buckeyes soft and Coach heard about it and was just making a point that Holtz didn't know what he was talking about! He didn't want to punch Holtz in the face 🤣Great take on him getting the job, do you think they would hand him the keys if he wasn't ready?
Yeah, Harb/ttun love calling him 3rd base when it’s in fact Harbaugh who was born into well established coaching family royalty, yet still took Harb 20yrs as an HC (16 CFB, 4 NFL, 3yrs cheating) to finally win a natty, took Day only 6yrs as an HC
The man literally helped his team win a natty on the anniversary of his dad’s suicide. Despite all his hard work, so many people doubt him but he pushes through and keeps pouring into our players. I got nothing but respect for him as a human and a coach. I literally cried for him when he threw his headset in the air! Go ahead, Coach Day! 🎉🎉
It’s always hilarious to hear people say they hate Ryan day because of the Lou Holtz comment, because i can assure you buckeye fans loved when he asked where Lou holtz was 🤣. Not even fans of the program hating on Ryan day… seems like they’re just hating
And it was totally blown out of proportion. He wasn’t trying to fight Holtz, he was simply sticking up for his players/team that Holtz (a legend) insulted. Meanwhile, Day has only settled things on the field vs ND (3-0 in past 3yrs) and since never engages Holtz or questions about h the fabricated “beef”
As a Buckeye fan and alumnus, I didn't like that he called out Loud* Holtz. But because he should have just ignored him. I did get he was standing up for his players and I did appreciate that.
The lou holtz reference fails to highlight the fact that holtz disrespected day and the buckeyes first by calling them soft . When that "soft," team beat ND , the response from day was well deserved
I never understood the Ryan Day hate. I feel like OSU fans hate him the worst, he knows what he’s doing and if he left to go to another school or the League he’d still win.
Dig around the comment section, it’s not Buckeye fans crying about Day here. People hate him because they think his record is fraudulent against bad teams & they don’t like him talking back to Lou Holtz
Yeah I don’t hate him I think he’s a great coach; from a Tennessee fans perspective tho he’s just a northern Kirby smart they both get extremely “animated” and people take it the wrong way. For example Day run downs the sidelines and celebrates everytime Ohio state makes a big play.. Once again im a Tennessee fan but one my favorite Nick Saban moments was his last iron bowl, it’s 4th and goal from the 31 with 32 seconds left and milroe launches to Isaiah bond and its a touchdown to take the lead and win the game late that they needed.. Saban didn’t even react he just put up 1 finger signaling he’s kicking the pat 🐐
Congratulations, the super team that everyone thought would win the championship BEFORE the season started actually won it! It’s amazing what 20 mil can do
Yeah well, it’s LEGAL, OSU has the largest fanbase by a significant margin, at least 3 teams spent more, and several teams spent not that much less and failed. Mich spent $16mill for 5 losses and irrelevance. I guess that means OSU is also most effective optimizing their money than everyone else?
Coach Meyer called him "Elite" and I believed him. Day's record in big games, and against the rival are challenged, and it is a legitimate critique for an otherwise excellent over all record. He is a man of superior character and superior effort, and in fact, he is young and still learning. God Speed coach; we will be lucky to retain him.
Well put Pate. I hate that this vitriol has made it this far. But I’m glad there are sensible enough pundits like yourself who see through the smoke screen.
The most important people in Ryan Day 's world are the players , his staff , everone he works with and around , his family and most important: himself. I seriously doubt youd find a single person in his world who have a bad thing to say about the guy.
Ryan Day Built the best coaching Staff I've ever seen at Ohio State and has kept recruiting at a similar rate to Urban Meyer. A lot of us were salty with him over the rivalry game but outside of that he's excellent and the perfect choice for our program! Also He got over the Clemson hump which was something Urban Meyer hadn't done so, respectfully we had very high expectations for him.
Ryan Day is an excellent coach and CEO. Social media highlights all the haters but most who look at him objectively see the talent...especially at 6 years. Like others have said...they hate Day because they hate Ohio State. They hate Ohio State because Ohio States is always relevant.
I would agree with this sentiment. Name an Ohio State coach and I've hated him and weirdly, Day is the first one I was kind of rooting for because I felt as though he was getting picked on by everyone. I even, and I hate saying this, I cheered for them to beat Clemson because of Dabo.
When you look at his story (outside of football) and how it affected him from his pre-adolescence all the way through his late 30s and early 40s, you understand why he has a Michigan problem and why the comments Josh Gattis and Jim Harbaugh made about him cut him so deeply and affect how he coaches that game. There was a College Gameday interview where his wife Christina said point blank that losing his father at such a young age gave Ryan a chip on his shoulder because he felt he had to hide his emotions about it and that he always had to prove how mentally tough he was because of the stigma surrounding mental health, especially in that time period. He felt as though showing his emotions about his father and his mental health made him look weak. So when an opposing coach of a major rival says he's weak, or soft, or says he was handed something, and says it to the entire world, yeah, he's gonna take that EXTREMELY personally. It explains the Lou Holtz situation, it explains why Ryan is so (overly) hellbent on beating Michigan to the point of obsession, and why he's so stubbornly eager to prove his team is tough and can win a matchup physically.
Another thing about Ryan Day “being handed the job” is not only did Ohio state want to hire him Urban wanted Day to be his successor. If urban felt like Day was qualified enough why do random people that don’t have a clue think he isn’t?
This was a championship team of really good young men with character lead by a coach with character....the rest of the country can hate all they want...I loved watching this historic run go Bucks!
OSU fan here. Outstanding take on Ryan Day. Haters are haters. That is what they do. OSU has a huge following, so we have more than our fair share of them. To Day’s credit, he does a tremendous job of taking the high road. The ‘started on third base’ criticism was started by a person with questionable integrity (I will stop there). It says something about someone when they attach themselves to that one. Look at his record before OSU. Ridiculous.
Thank you for bringing this up! It’s about time Coach Day gets the respect he deserves. I’ve never seen such a good and genuine human treated so poorly. His players and their families love him, that means something. I mean what’s wrong with people that they dislike someone for the color of their beard. Grow the hell up people!
Can't forget about his time as a G.A at Florida under Urban Meyer, or the fact that Ohio State got a good look at him in the role during Urbans suspension in 2018. Guy also comes from a fantastic coaching tree.
I didn’t want to watch the CFP. I couldn’t bear the thought of them losing to Tennessee and going nowhere with this amazing roster. But I tuned in for the Tennessee game with a tiny shred of hope, and Ryan Day and the players gave us the greatest gift we as fans could ever desire: A historical CFP run and a national championship. Thank you, Ryan Day. And thank you to the team. Absolutely amazing.
Ryan Day is extremely humble and very likable guy. Im a diehard Buckeye fan. But ive always backed Ryan Day from day 1. I love that coach Day and these boys won a championship and finally shut up at the very least the haters in our fan base. But michigan fans will continue to hate and cope but i expect that from them
I've defended Day since he got the job. After the UM lost I lost faith and said he didn't understand the culture. I'm here to say he absolutely proved me wrong and I'm excited to see what Coach Day does next season. Hopefully a win in Ann Arbor!
Go Buckeyes! National Champs! I like how the 12-team playoff gives schools an extra chance to redeem themselves! Ohio State proved why the expansion to 12 teams was extremely important! Ohio State proved they could beat 2 SEC schools, Oregon in a rematch and Notre Dame! I hope that they keep the 12-team playoff format for next season as well!
Has the slightest fall off from a now hall of fame coach. In my opinion only one bad loss to TTUN. Sure as buckeye fans we religiously think about winning that one game every season. However, Ryan Day is a great coach that preaches the right things for young men to hear. Personally I wish that was what mattered most to us. Not to mention he just won us a natty… Build the statue!
Personally, I feel like Ryan Day is an exceptionally top tier coach. Ryan's Day's biggest enemy is himself when it comes to Michigan. His players absolutely adore him and play hard as hell for him.
This is why josh is the best in the business. As a Buckeye fan who has defended and loved Day since the first day I believe a lot of the disrespect he gets is because people don’t know who he really is. Golf fans - this is the Bryson dechambeau arc happening right before your eyes.
A huge Buckeye fan here, I understand how he can come off as unlikable. He can be a emotionally undisciplined. His insecurity is palpable at times (Lou Holtz comment). It's part of the learning curve. The reality is... who cares what others think about him or his beard or... y'all can have a coke and a smile while we will call him champ: Nice Rushmore:.. Woody. Tressel. Meyer. Day.
One of the greatest day in American history. January 20, 2025 will be remembered as a glorious trifecta. We celebrated MLK life and dream, at 12 noon in DC America was liberated from the evil and wickedness that darkened America for 4 long horrific years, and before midnight in Atlanta, the great state of Ohio, HC Ryan Day and THE Ohio State Buckeyes were redeemed and crowned 2024 CFP National Champions. American by birth and a Buckeye by the grace of God. O-H
People will find any reason to hate Ohio State. I've been a fan for over 30 years and no matter the state you get hate but also a lot of Buckeye fans all over the US. Very overly opinionated fan base with over 6 million opinions. Ryan Day was a few plays away from playing in 4 National championships in 6 years. A touchdown overturned vs Clemson 2019 and a missed field goal/non targeting UGA, away from beating TCU to sleep. He was always close, yes he has a Michigan problem but folks easily conveniently forget that Harbaugh was 0-5 left 3-5 and won what 2-3 bowl games one being a Natty after never winning a CFP game until they won. Never even made a playoff until 8-9 years after the CFP was made. Day has already played in 2 and was a few plays away from playing in 2 more.
I like him. He never claps back at fans who are angry. He recruits well. He manages most games well. He won a natty. And he lives a mile away from me. What’s not to love?
Ryan Day was likely offended by Lou Holtz’s comments because they directly questioned his team’s toughness and his ability to win big games. Holtz is a legendary coach who publicly implied that Ohio State lacked the physicality to compete at the highest level, essentially attacking the heart of Day’s program. For Day, it wasn’t just criticism it was a direct insult to his leadership, his players, and the work they’ve put in to maintain Ohio State as a national powerhouse.
Born & Bred scarlet bleeding Buckeye here. NEVER hated or even disliked Ryan Day personally. He was Urban's pick for the job and I respect Urban. I don't believe he would turn HIS Buckeyes over to a bad man. What I did have a problem with was what I saw as an inability to adapt. Josh, seriously, watch the UM game film from this year. For 4 Qtrs, we ran pretty much the same play on 1st down over & over & over, some kind of run between the tackles, and it was going NOWHERE! We were constantly in 3rd & long. It was like he and Kelly just had to prove that they could go toe to toe with UM. We had the talent advantage at the skill positions, we had the speed advantage, which is best utilized getting to the edges. But again, just continue to run it between the tackles with the same result, NOTHING! Starting with the TN game, they unleashed the stallions that they had kept somewhat hobbled all season, and look what happened! It's fine for you to defend Ryan Day on a personal level, but as someone whose football knowledge I respect, you CANNOT look at OSU game film from most all season and tell me that Day/Kelly utilized the talent on that team to it's fullest ability...until they did!
Im a giant buckeyes fan. My perspective is i dont hate or dislike him but he doesn't make me feel comfortable during even the easy wins. When he goes out there theres a feeling we might blow this game. When urban and tressell were out there i was shocked every time we lost but always felt like we would win. Day just doesnt exude that confidence
Highest winning percentage of active FBS coaches, highly ranked recruiting classes, a national title, all while enduring the pressure of the country’s largest fanbase,…Dues: PAID IN FULL!
I honestly think it's because of how he looks. He looks unlikable and untrustable. I think he probably is actually a good person, but it doesn't come across that way in the media.
I’ve never disliked him. & his success has always impressed me as a tOSU fan. I think he’s had a Barry Switzer/Tom Osborne-type coaching tenure: a legend assuming a kingdom from a previous legend, & maintaining excellence. Took those 2 coaches decades to win the Natty. Day got it done in 6. Day’s excellence should never have been unfairly questioned
Marcus Freeman is where they will go next. Mark my words. D coordinator for 1 year, then made head coach. He lost a natty. I think it might take him 3 or 4 years to get one. In the interim, those people will say he can’t do it. I love Freeman by the way
I was one of the ones calling for a coaching change…….IF Ohio St (who I love) lost to Tennessee after the TTun game. I said basically the only thing that could salvage this is a great playoff run. That is subjective. But what is objective fact is he did it in a fashion that was amazing. So that argument is dead. I don’t think it’s wrong that people felt that way.
If he's unlikable it's because there is a strong perception that despite being a successful coach, he is not a great coach. He inherited a team which was already a powerhouse and then proceeded to tread water for several years. I'm not sure OSU of 2024 is actually a stronger program than Urban Meyer's teams, but everyone else seems to have taken a step back (Alabama/Georgia/Michigan this year). He wins a lot of games but always has the most talented squad, but still finds a way to lose to less talented teams. The perception is that Day does less with more. Just what it is.
After the natty Urban proceeded to lose to MSU to miss a playoff, get blownout by Clemson in the playoff, blownout by Iowa to miss a playoff & finally blownout by Purdue to miss a playoff. Whatever u think of Day’s run before his natty u must also think of Urban, there is no excuse for Urban that shouldn’t be granted to Day
And Urban inherited a program that had already pretty much broken Michigan. Day crushed them his 1st yr and would’ve again 2020 but Harb took advantage of Covid to press reset and then began letting low-level staffer Connor start standing next his OC & DC during play calling. Hmmmm
The problem with that narrative is that Urban Meyer was the same way at Ohio State. How many games did his teams actually win with equal or inferior talent? Maybe two?
The only reason someone would perceive Day as unlikeable, is because they cannot get past the fact that he coaches at a school they do not like. Or they do not like him for defending his players against trolls who try to tell a narrative in the media?
Bc Day showed zero class over the last 4 years when it came to losing to Michigan. In 23, he was def involved behind scenes running to league office/ncaa w Stalions shit and played into the “cheating” narrative before Michigan was given any due process. He’s acted like osu was wronged in the losses to Michigan instead of taking ownership and giving Michigan their due. He has zero respect towards Michigan as a program and that attitude has permeated the culture at Osu and is the biggest reason they have lost 4 in a row. They act like they are entitled to beating Michigan every year. This year he doubled down on the revenge arc and it blew up in his face, watched and did absolutely nothing as his team started a brawl after game that cause people to get fuckin maced and took 0 accountability for it after. Got off scott free w zero suspensions or reprimands on that one which a joke. Since then he’s using his personal story w father’s suicide, claims of “threats to family” to shield against criticism. He’s a good football coach but he’s a spineless douche.
I respect Day immensely. If the players love him, are loyal, and willing to fight for him he is clearly making a difference in these men’s lives. He loves them and they love him. Concerning the Michigan losses we all know that this rivalry is cyclical. To fire him for the UM losses while he’s one play away from wins plus a nearly 90% win rate any haters are either delusional with unrealistic expectations or simply resent his vast successes. To boil it down the haters should look in the mirror and measure themselves by the same expectations (impossible) or are unaware of their mental illness passing such hard judgment or accept the fact are far inferior to this man.
Honestly it’s the Michigan games. I’d rather lose the biggest rivalry game in the nation every year than lose to Akron or Maryland. Because it at least adds substance. OSU is the only FBS program in history to never lose more then 8 games in a season. We also don’t have rebuild seasons, we reload. It’s hard losing to the guys up north but at least the B10 is probably the new big daddy of CFB
Unlikeable because: 1. In the Indiana game Trevyon Henderson slid down at the end of the game instead of scoring (classy move). Ryan lined up and scored an unnecessary touchdown anyway (classless). 2. After the Michigan game his response to the fight sounded as though he was condoning his players action saying they weren't going to let that happen. No accountability.
4:48 Ryan day was hired for one of the most, if not the most, difficult coaching job in college football as his first head coaching job. And he has worked his ass off.
I'm an Ohio State fan, and while I agree that a lot of coach Day's haters are because Ohio State is one of, if not the, most hated programs in the country. But I also agree he needs to ease up in the Just for Men.
His game plans and teams play not to lose because of expectations they set for themselves. The Michigan game this year was firable for the gameplan and response to the brawl. The players sat him down. It’s the only reason this happened. Happy for him and happy for the team but I’m not wavering from that because the most obviously talented team in the country did its job.
Funny you mention Coker...he wasn't the only coach that Jimmy Johnson handed a Championship caliber team to. He did the same thing for Barry Switzer at Dallas. At least Switzer managed to win with them.
Ryan Day is the best coach in football, losers can't stand winners. 70-10 record National Champion, he beat 6 of the top 10 teams this year, and 5 of the top 5 teams. Then the guys that play for him love him. So it's a no brainer, I love Ryan Day.
Michigan fans - If Frick or Frack was the head coach at Ohio State, he would win at least 75% of his games. Since 1950 (year of my birth) OSU has been the most consistent program in college football. Even John Cooper (hall of fame) had two teams that finished #2 in the AP. Read up on Michigan's history during that time. They have had numerous seasons where they have gone into hibernation.
RYAN DAY: -best win% all active HCs -3rd highest win% ALL TIME -2 NCG appearances, 1 natty -1 of only 3 active HCs with natty win -has 5-3 record in CFP -most top5 wins in a season all time -beat all 4 CFP teams by double digits, and on 2nd hardest path behind only Tennessee’s -4th most top10 matchup wins (16) since 2000, behind only Saban (36), Urban (21), Kirby (18). And that’s in only 6 seasons -had hand in developing W.Howard, Stroud, Fields, Haskins, Burrow, Ewers -2nd best resume of all current active HCs during his tenure. -during his tenure Ryan Day > Swinney Freeman, Sark, Lanning, DeBoer, Franklin, Heupel, Kiffin, Cignetti, LRiley, Cristobal, Jimbo, etc. The man is elite.
@yearofthedawgs8581 Well, it’s already inferred by the fact I have Kirby as the only better resume during Day’s tenure. And that semi final was a sketchy win played around the corner from UGA’s campus, so maybe take an OSU fan’s graciousness when you can get it
@SatansShart nah, there's nothing gracious about exaggerating how great of a coach ryan day or, like you bucknuts always do, exagerrate the greatness of ohio state wins with meaningless statistics. Like who tf cares about OSU's wins vs toledo and kent state? Who cares that Day "made it" to a natty that he got blown out in. Who cares about being 5-3 in the cfp? You get my point? These are just stupid pat myself on the back stats. Day held you guys back. It took you millions of dollars, 3 of the very best portal players developed in the SEC, Saban retiring, AND an expanded playoff to get one ring from him. There is nothing Day did specifically as a coach that got this team a natty. You guys all wanted dude fired like 4 weeks ago. If anything OSU has underachieved considerably the past 10 years. Y'all are like the opposite of Alabama. You have an undynasty.
his biggest get was chip kelly,/kelly dosent need to be a head he could be but i think he likes the teaching and working the offense always been a fan of his offense since he was at oregon and hes got a really good defensive teacher as well one of the things i always admired was nick sabans ability to hire cant just be a head coach these days you need a considerably large and competent staff and with winning comes the challenges of retaining coachs and players
Ryan day talks like an nfl coach... He finally figured out college... Hes good in my book .. btw who would osu replace him with? And you cant just say urban meyer or nick saban they are done
All of these, 'we don't hate Day, everybody just hate OSU' or 'they hate us more than any other program' comments. That wasn't the sentiment in early Decmeber when fans didn't turn out for the home CFP game. However, there is _no_ program hated more than BAMA, particularly this season. Most comments expressed SEC bias having a potential CFP12 spot for BAMA. Loatheing its history of success and the dynasty finally being over.. I think Day is a great coach! The team be built this year is truly impressive...

I couldn’t agree more.
@@cadeholmes7371u sound like a bundle of joy, take a nap, u will feel better when u wake up😂

Now Lanning has a punchable face
@@sw120you should read what Lou said about the athletes at Ohio State before the game

Idk how anyone objective could say Jim Harbaugh is more likable of a person than Ryan Day.
Because Jim Harbaugh has a soul and not demon black eyes
Or dabo sweeney
@@IamRa-18Harbaugh is fake, a whiner, not a person of integrity, and has no loyalty to anything but himself.
Jim Harbaugh is a slime ball and a cheater. He’s arrogant, abrasive and burns bridges every where he goes. Doesn’t know how to lose with class, nor win with class. Just ask Jim Schwartz
Agree
Crazy. He is a great coach and seems like a great man. I hope he never leaves OSU and have felt that way since he arrived.
The hate that people have for Ohio State is something else. It’s not quite like the hate for other top CFB programs. Well put, JP.

@@Ghost_of_a_Flea I am mad cause your fans suck. My family members that went to OSU are trash. I have a good friend who is an OSU fan, very good dude. Even he agrees with me on this. It's okay to know your fanbase sucks. Doesn't change your individual fandom.
Dabo exists. That simple fact makes the opening question absurd.
Harbaugh also existed. Granted, he's not a college coach anymore but he was unlikable.
Both Harbaugh and Dabo are at least genuine. Ryan Day behaves like someone that is still faking it until he makes it. Like his own ego matters more.
Harbaugh’s genuine??? Lmao dude puts on different personalities depending on his audience
@@jasonstanko403what does this even mean? I’m sincerely asking.
Lane Kiffin?
💯
Except the Buckeyes have never had down periods, ever. Even the best of the best programs has, not Ohio State. No 8 loss season ever, no 5-10yr down periods, & at Ohio State a 11-1 or 10-2 season is a disappointing season
A made field goal and Day would have 2 titles and Smart 1.
FLH
Holtz is a senile old fart. I used to love him. But he needs to shut his trap! Just ask his players and coaches. They are the ones to listen to!
Ohio State is a soft program
@drewstein5403 National Champs !!!!! The only thing soft is your head
If y’all hate Ryan day because he stuck up for his team while Lou hotlz randomly disrespected his team we didn’t gaf abt they’re opinion go bucks
*Spell check did that, but I decided to let it ride. 😂
Harbaugh is so obnoxious, he took the 49ers to the Super Bowl...and they still fired him.

Nah they just want him to live up to the expectations laid by tressel and urban with regard to Michigan
Dig around the comment section, it’s not Buckeye fans crying about Day here. People hate him because they think his record is fraudulent against bad teams & they don’t like him talking back to Lou Holtz
Yeah take that bama profile picture down, I know you’re a damn band wagon who ain’t a real bama fan because no bama fan would ever say that
Yeah I don’t hate him I think he’s a great coach; from a Tennessee fans perspective tho he’s just a northern Kirby smart they both get extremely “animated” and people take it the wrong way.

I am an OSU fan. I think coach Day is excellent. Players love him. He adjusts every year and is always within striking distance.
Ryan Day is a good man and a great coach, and those two facts abide regardless of who you are and what team you support.
Football fans and analysts can hate him all they want. His players love him.
Ridiculous.
Watch this dude lose a 5th straight to Michigan next year and they'll all want him fired again. It just means more man.

Have not heard anything from Holtz after the game.

3. Dabo Swinney
4. Jimbo Fisher

6. Urban Meyer

You mean kinda like you?
Lmfao read ur comment to yourself and tell me you were serious. " I think it's because of how he looks." 💀💀💀💀💀
Extremely well said. You sir…are really good at what you do.
*I am thrilled with Ryan ‘Fear The Beard’ Day. He seems hard-pressed to beat my mighty, MIGHTY Wolverines. Go Blue!*
I've spoken with Ryan Day and I can tell you, this dude knows football.
Maybe two?
THANK YOU JOSH!
Everyone who hates him, would love to have him coach their team.
Unlikeable because:
People will always find a reason to hate a successful organization.
I like Ryan Day and people are mad because he has success and a wonderful family who loves him and people who trust him.
RYAN DAY:
-best win% all active HCs
-3rd highest win% ALL TIME
-2 NCG appearances, 1 natty
-1 of only 3 active HCs with natty win
-has 5-3 record in CFP
-most top5 wins in a season all time
-beat all 4 CFP teams by double digits, and on 2nd hardest path behind only Tennessee’s
-4th most top10 matchup wins (16) since 2000, behind only Saban (36), Urban (21), Kirby (18). And that’s in only 6 seasons
-had hand in developing W.Howard, Stroud, Fields, Haskins, Burrow, Ewers
-2nd best resume of all current active HCs during his tenure.
-during his tenure Ryan Day > Swinney Freeman, Sark, Lanning, DeBoer, Franklin, Heupel, Kiffin, Cignetti, LRiley, Cristobal, Jimbo, etc.
The man is elite.
You forgot that he also lost to Georgia
We love Ryan Day at Ohio State. I hope he signs a long extension. Go Blue
his biggest get was chip kelly,/kelly dosent need to be a head he could be but i think he likes the teaching and working the offense always been a fan of his offense since he was at oregon and hes got a really good defensive teacher as well one of the things i always admired was nick sabans ability to hire cant just be a head coach these days you need a considerably large and competent staff and with winning comes the challenges of retaining coachs and players
