Opening the baffle upon opening the door, automatically, is a very nice feature. People think their wood stoves don't work correctly because "they can't open the door and load more wood" when the fire is burning. Wood stoves that have a baffle that PUSHES air toward the front / door can't be opened while the fire is burning. There is nothing wrong with the stove and people don't understand this. This features makes loading more wood much easier.
Hi Charles, Thank you for your comments, we have had many customers comment on how easy it is to remove and replace. Our customer service team are more than happy to help if you have any problems in the future.
I couldn't remove the baffle on mine either until I removed the bolts holding the hooks in at the front. Took myself to hold it in place and gf to replace the hooks. Scientist, still working
Awesome fire, logs burn for absolutely ages and it heats up the entire house
Thanks! We're pleased to hear your enjoying your stove 🔥

Well explained 🔥 The baffle opening draws the smoke up the chimney. It is still good practice to open the door gradually instead of swinging it open.
This is my fire
Great! Thanks for choosing us 🔥
Can this be retrofitted to pv5i?
Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately not, the whole design of the firebox changes on stoves with the active baffle fitted so it is not possible to retrofit one.
It’s not easy to remove and refit and has very poor diagrams and documentation. Retired consultant engineer.
