I can’t see lava taking notice of stop sign. Lol Love sounds of lava moving, is very fascinating. Totally loving your videos, having tried watching others but no others beat yours which are addictive to watch. I know you are sick of people saying stay safe but please do. I’m pretty sure many would agree that we are not only growing attached to your videos but to you too with your down to earth style and sense of humor that at times can almost have us rolling out of our seats in laughter. You and your boys seem like part the family now. Ignore the haters and keep up the great job. Much Aroha from NZ
This video cracked me up! Trying to sneak in and hits the panic button - priceless, LOL!!!! This video showcased everything that makes you, you - starting with the panic button, standing right in the middle of an arc of advancing lava, your unsuppressable excitement in seeing the advancing lava, telling us you know the power lines are dead because you touched one accidentally, and your empathy and sadness in seeing your friend's house gone. Of course, there's more to you than all this. I couldn't stop laughing for a quite a bit there! And I do feel guilty every time I laugh at you, jeez! Thank you for being my amazing lava ninja with a spectacular sense of humor🤗😘!! Happy Monday💖!!!
One of your best videos, Scott! The dedication and respect you are giving to this experience are admirable. You are taking us all on an amazing journey! This footage is like stepping into Dante’s Inferno, it’s primeval, otherworldly and utterly mesmerizing! Thank you!!
Seeing that stop sign sillouhetted against the lava glow gave me a reference point - an idea of how tall that pile of lava is. The sound of the clinking and scraping of rocks is amazing. Thank you for posting videos like this!
The sound of this reminds me of when I had to shovel coal as a kid for our furnace. It had that same clinking hollow sound sometimes. After a while it gets a bit grating like fingers on a chalkboard. It must be crazy to hear in person. Mahalo
Thank you again for sharing with us! I understand the potential danger mixed with the understanding that the situation is what it is and it’s best to enjoy the moments you can as they are awe inspiring. I am a critical care nurse in Florida and get to work during hurricanes. Mother Nature is unbelievably intense and cool and it’s so fun to be able to share your journey. I wish I were there right now but settle to watch your updates before and after my shift. Lol your panic with your panic button had me giggling
LOL! Nice one there Scott by setting off your Panic Button! That gave me a good chuckle! Another amazing timing moment by capturing that power line dropping out of the lava crust and into the frame! You got a knack for that! The sounds coming from that A'A lava sounds like a million glass plates continuously braking and grinding against one another! Happy to hear about Emanuel's house being fully insured is great news! @14:28 was awesome when that lava hit that Stop Sign making a Gong sound. Good thing it was there! DON'T FORGET TO TAKE STILLS! Mahalo for all your hard work, dedication, and for the additively stunning filmography Scott!
Forgot to Congratulate you Scott on reaching 20,272 views on this video w/ 5.8 k Subscribers at the time of this comment. I've been watching your videos since 5/5/18 and it's truly amazing to watch how fast your channel has grown and continues to grow. I feel honored and humbled to be apart of this channel! Many thanks to what and everything that you are doing Scott! Save travels my friend!
Thanks so much keeping us advised back here on the mainland. It,s been a blessing for us. I have friends in Black Sands Beach who lost their place in Kalapana years ago who just moved back a couple years back. It makes it easier to keep up than to constantly bug them. Don't forget to take your stills.
I'm from Namibia watching all you videos and it sure is amazing....destruction though forming of new "ground". You are privileged to be there, though my heart goes out to them that lost their homes. Thanks to you and your partner we can see action live . Get enough sleep and stay safe. Shalom
Your poor mom. You must be giving her momma terrors because you sure are giving them to me. LOL. You are a riot, Scott and have fantastic teaching videos. Thank you so much!
Thank you Scott, incredible scene, incredible sounds. I heartily agree with whoever suggested panning more slowly. I had to look away a lot during the first part of this video due to a seasick feeling I get when a videographer pans quickly back and forth. I get it, though, there’s that urge to capture it all in the same way that your eyes are taking it in. With the camera, the slower you pan, the better it will look. Mahalo.
You are the nicest vampire! It's the only explanation for how you are so awake all through the night to film for us. Your secret is safe with us, I think we might be #LavaVampires too!😀
Wow, brother... This is brilliant. I've seen all of your videos (up until this one), but this is the first time I think I have seen A'a in action. It's always so hard to imagine it actually moving (as opposed to the o'o), but this captures that perfectly. Thx so much!
Thank you for your continuing AM walks. Is your donate button still up. Or do you have paypal? I'll go back and look. Maybe you mentioned it in a previous video.
How does one describe this in words. Im having trouble and I'm not even their. I hear the lava inching closer and that "sky" on your drive in. Im glad you're being safe. Im sorry business is suffering because, of this. Your Channel is bringing love and positive news to the mainland 🤙P.S Give your your pups some tummy rubs. Griffen a little extra 😁🐶
Hi, I am a blind viewer and just found your channel. Would you mind giving me a visual of what all of this looks like? You have very good audio by the way and I am enjoying listening to your videos. It is very interesting listening to what you ahve talked about. Finally, could you please be a bit more descriptive of what you are looking at?and also sad to know how many people have lost homes / affected by this.
I shared this video link with my FaceBook page of audio fans of my net radio station Chaotic Resonance for those present who enjoy good field recordings (and rare eclectic art, etc). The sounds are so good I wish I were there with my Sony PCM M-10 to capture the highest quality sounds for hours for the beauty of those lovely sounds I heard here. Delightful to hear. Thank-you for this, Scott. *hugs* If you can make me feel like I'm there with you, that's a huge achievement! Well done! :>
One of the best videos, even with the panic alarm 'test.' And I remember the video where Emanuel was joking with the fire department staff, even though the lava was approaching his home. Glad to hear he was fully insured.
Oh Scott, still catching up with you and I can see now why you took some of these off. 🤗🤗 Thank you again for putting them back, again. 🤗 I have the feeling there's a cult forming behind you… Monty Python… The Life of Brian I think it was… 🤗🤗🤗 and I have also had the feeling somehow you'll manage, with humor and Grace. 🤗 And what shall we call you? Whoopsie Daisy? I thought I was the only one that still said that. Your followers are far more clever than I and it will come to someone, when the time is right. 🤗🤗 You may not know what you're doing but you're doing it right.👍 Aloha
Maybe you could explain, to all of us, how much a particular spot has changed and/or how much the lava has advanced since your last visit. ;-) Excellent work and thanks.
Aloha from Washington Scott. That is the weirdest sounding stuff. WOW! Things have really progressed since day before yesterday, unbelievable! I finally got some internet service so have a lot to catch up on. This just keeps boggling my mind. Mahalo
This is so fascinating yet scary and sad, because of all the people who have lost their homes. I hope all animals were able to escape or were rescued. Thank you for sharing these videos, I've been to Hawaii and it is such a beautiful place and the people are so cool and kind. I wish things come back to normal soon. Stay safe Scott.
Oh, Wow!!! On Kahukai! Now I've got to go back and look at the last video of that area in the daytime to compare. But Wow, it has advanced and built up a LOT! Whoa!!! Man, that's scary, especially with the falling lava rocks. The sound is INCREDIBLE!!! Nothing else like it!
I always say wow, but what else can we say. Thank you for explaining the lava, I didn't know there was different types. Be careful, can you see where it is? Don't get trapped. You are awesome to film this event.
Not me, I just retreated back 😦 it’s creepy like it devours everything in its path. You have gained a lot of courage. 20 days ago you would not put yourself this close 👏
How can I help contribute? Do you have a donate button or a patreon? Or can someone direct me to the video (if there is one) where any of this info might be listed? Please and thank you. I would love to help out, as I feel like you are giving me a tour everyday, multiple times a day, and showing me what I might not be able to see otherwise.
That noise is so loud on the video. Is that a good representation of how it sounds in person? My my, aren’t we getting fancy with the zoom and end of video graphics and embedded video! LOL What’s next, editing? Such a slippery slope! 😂 Love the evolution, keep em coming!
Wow! That's amazing! "We are standing in middle of it", well.. yes we are. This is so great! I'm making coffee and continue. I missed this feeling; so hooked to this. :D . . . Let's see; A'A lava sounds like "ice tsunami"
fiskfarm , Thank you for the comment! Unfortunately Scott from ApauHawaiiTours may not allow that because "Many native Hawaiians believe that lava is the kinolau, or physical embodiment, of volcano goddess Pele. Poking lava with sticks and other objects (including but not limited to: cooking hot dogs) is disrespectful" according to the National Park Service. Thank you for your comment/suggestion and your support to Scott at ApauHawaiiTours! :)
Vinesauce Obscurities Love that description. If I were reading about this in a book as apposed to watching it, that description would allow me to hear it, exactly as it sounds, in my mind. 😊
The picture you show at 6:12 almost looks like a glowing alligator/crocodile. You can see it's eye and it's slightly open mouth. That is very scary stuff. Stay safe out there. Dumb question.. do you think the lava will obey that poor stop sign????? lol
candace Mosdell It's just incredible, so bloody addictive. I've been wanting to visit Hawai'i since I was 9. Im 39 today, lol! Think it's about time I go for a visit, when the 'danger' is over.. :) 🇦🇺♥️
Great video. The sound reminds me of shoveling lava(decrative) rock in planters, etc. But I have learned that Ahah is the type of lave that makes that. Only it is much bigger pieces
Have you ever considered using something as simple as a "selfie stick" to change the perspective of your shot? It would be great to see this from two perspectives...one high and one at eye level.
7:57 (paused) No, don't shut up for too long. We know you survived because this is not a live video stream and you eventually uploaded your footage. But at times it still has that unsettling gut feel of "found footage," especially in such overwhelming darkness. A voice now and then is the most obvious sign of life.
whitemannativemind There's also the consideration that perhaps his own eyes can see better than the phone's camera can adjust to. So it may just *look* scarier than it actually is. Still, from where I'm sitting, it's still pretty damn unsettling.
This was mind-blowing to watch again. But it was also one of the scariest ones you made. You can be a crazy man at times, do you know that? Your guardian angel was working overtime that night. I know you are experienced and very good at what you do but that stuff was moving and falling all over the place. Plus a close encounter with a power line. I'm just glad you made it through. ~~ Your reaction to the truck alarm was so funny and cute!
Sorry,I have not commented lately. But iv been keeping up. I just wish I could Send you all this rain we are about to get. Might be enough to put that out. Lol Alberto is dead on to hit us for now. Your bravery Is so special. Thanks for all your doing!

Thank you for being a major source of information regarding the lava and it’s effects and progression.
The sound is amazing. Like glass cracking and breaking.
That sound is almost like a bulldozer as it trundles along the road. Even though it's dark, it really is worth it to hear the lava. Thank you, Scott.

This was so cool and unbelievable to hear the lava inching forward. To me it sounds like broken glass being swept up. Great video! Good job! 👍🏻👌🏼
Amazing and even a bit crazy what nature creates.. And what man created so we can see it.
Another great job by Scott!
I'm sure when/if this end soon, you could use your footages to make a sort of documentary on the day to day these events.

Still can hear frogs
One of the best videos, even with the panic alarm 'test.' And I remember the video where Emanuel was joking with the fire department staff, even though the lava was approaching his home. Glad to hear he was fully insured.
Oooo... The sound of advancing lava is awesome and terrifying..
Hey Scotty, don’t forget to take stills. Fascinating as always keep it up.

That was fun, that was a blast! Wasn't that awesome? LMBO! We love you Scott!

I always say wow, but what else can we say. Thank you for explaining the lava, I didn't know there was different types. Be careful, can you see where it is? Don't get trapped. You are awesome to film this event.
We can see it and we can hear it, but we rely on you to tell us what you are feeling and smelling (hopefully not tasting).
The panic button was EVERYTHING!! LOL
This type of flow is also called “clinker” because of its sound.
Not me, I just retreated back 😦 it’s creepy like it devours everything in its path. You have gained a lot of courage. 20 days ago you would not put yourself this close 👏
Wow, the sound is something else!
LOL, I see you are a stealthy individual :D I can't tell you how many times I set off my own car alarm. Great stuff, keep it up.
He'd make a very poor burglar.

Bathroom tiles make that sound after you knock them off the wall.Or like an ice shove up at the great lakes.
Good to see you are getting more views on your videos, and thanks again Scott
sounds like breaking glass. it's crazy. Thank you for keeping up recording.

Wow amazing video
it sounds like a symphony of cutting and breaking glass. very Erie. stay safe.
I love that STOP sign. Hilarious! What, no hotdogs? A man's gotta eat. Now THAT would go viral for sure.

Thank you Peace&Love!!!
It's really hard to fathom the sheer power of lava and how it consumed everything in it's path at The Doghouse House
Sounds like millions upon millions of Lego bricks constantly cascading over each other. These noises will drive me nuts if it's never-ending.
Vinesauce Obscurities
Love that description. If I were reading about this in a book as apposed to watching it, that description would allow me to hear it, exactly as it sounds, in my mind. 😊
Be careful of potential back feed if someone is running a generator... These videos are amazing. Stay safe!
wow jus wow..thanks for these awesome vids good job...bsafe
That intro view... just surreal.
Sounds like a shovel scaping on pavement. I love the sound of A ah lava but not the destruction.
The picture you show at 6:12 almost looks like a glowing alligator/crocodile. You can see it's eye and it's slightly open mouth. That is very scary stuff. Stay safe out there. Dumb question.. do you think the lava will obey that poor stop sign????? lol
Dana Chappell 🤣

🇦🇺♥️
Can your phone record with the flashlight on then we could see what your seeing
Take stills Scott! To your left I saw blue flames!
Great video. The sound reminds me of shoveling lava(decrative) rock in planters, etc. But I have learned that Ahah is the type of lave that makes that. Only it is much bigger pieces
Watching and listening, I keep expecting you to pan around and find a velociraptor staring you point-blank......
Yes Scott respect !✌
Love the sound of clinker. When do you sleep?
Sorry about Emanuel's house.Saw him on a vedio last night. I'm glad I'm not there to see that, it would be to heart breaking.
I'm sorry that your friend lost his house.
Don’t forget to get some stills
Dude, thanks for the works.
Would your headlamp help?
Maybe a Head Lamp?
The A'a lava sounds like a D-9 tractor or a recycling truck throwing around glass bottles. 😮
Have you ever considered using something as simple as a "selfie stick" to change the perspective of your shot? It would be great to see this from two perspectives...one high and one at eye level.
The scale of the stop sign is really great.
7:57 (paused) No, don't shut up for too long. We know you survived because this is not a live video stream and you eventually uploaded your footage. No Scott, you’re standing in the middle of it. We all are safe at home, man. Take care!
It sure is amazing! It sounds like breaking glass.
Stop sign valiantly trying to hold back the lava!
Don't forget to take stills 😁
Sorry,I have not commented lately. But iv been keeping up. I just wish I could Send you all this rain we are about to get. Might be enough to put that out. Lol Alberto is dead on to hit us for now. So your fire there. And we're water here. So I'm stocking up on sandbags. You need to stock up on fire extinguishers. LOL just in case one of those Flames sneaks up on you. Your bravery Is so special. Thanks for all your doing!
Hope you and your will be safe from Alberto!
Terry Tomaszewski thank you..it's just starting the season early. And we hope just rain.
